Sooo good! This place is the cutest! Lots of options for donuts, pastries, and sandwiches. Their popovers are delicious and huge! I've never had a popover but I really recommend them. Their pastry puffs also had refreshing flavors and their donuts were unique and tasted amazing. I got a matcha latte and they used real Matcha powder rather than a syrup! Stopped in for an early lunch about 11:30 Saturday morning. I had the Chicken Ceasar sandwich and it was sooooo good! Big and fresh on this absolutely glorious freshly-made roll. I also had an iced latte which was way more flavorful than, say, Starbucks'. Alas, almost all of the bakery items and sweets had been cleaned out already -- apparently people swoop down on this place early and snap up all the goodies -- so I didn't get to sample those, but I will absolutely be back! We were looking for a place in Hilo that serves Kona coffee (apparently none exist), so I went here instead. The drip coffee is quite good here - the house blend is a mystery but it has a hint of berries in it. The donuts here are great - we had a few donuts there and got a few more to go. The interior is simple but efficient - good enough to hang out and finish your coffee, but not so good that you want to stay and write / work / do your thing. read more

Solid place to come by for some goodies. That Lilikoi mochi is out of this world. Run, do not walk here to grab some for yourself. Lots of interesting donut and other baked goodies. Something for everyone. There's also some solid coffee and other breakfast bowl choices here. Plenty of easy parking right outside of the restaurant and places to sit down and eat. We ordered an ube donut, a milk & cereal donut, a red velvet scone, and a matcha latte with oat milk. The ube donut was definitely the favorite of the bunch, but everything was delicious! This is a great find! We grabbed breakfast here 2 days in a row! Everything we tried was so delicious. My husband's fav was the popover sandwich with sausage and egg. Mine was the huge beautiful popover with Lilikoi butter. The little yeast puffs with tropical flavors were also amazing. I was greeted by a young lady in the front and I couldn't decide which flavor of donuts I wanted so I decided on one of everything they had left. Fantastic place, we just stopped by when visiting Hilo, wanting coffee and pastries, found it to be great. The donuts are very good, baked instead of fried for a great texture, incredible puff pastries as well. The hawaiian pour over coffee was delicious, and the staff told us all about where they sourced it locally (paradise roasters). High marks on the hibiscus tea as well. Randomly stumbled across this place looking for a maple bacon donut (don't judge). Seemed worth a try! It's nice and simple, a nice variety of pastries and their popovers including their made to order popover sandwiches. We got there a little late, around 1pm. Most of the pastry dishes were just empty crumby plates. We did get to try a chocolate glazed donut and vanilla glazed donut. We also ordered a breakfast popover sandwich. Includes eggs, potatoes, Portuguese sausage, tomatoes and green onion. The donuts at $2.50 each were just okay. I'd prefer my $.99 donut from Safeway or KTA, nothing special to justify the price mark. The breakfast popover was mediocre. Now, admittedly I'm not familiar with a popover, so I can't judge whether theirs is good or not. To me it sort of reminded me of the outside of a stale cocopuff. It was presented nicely, open faced, but it was mostly cold, a few spots bareeeeeely warm. Not a fan of cold eggs, meat and potatoes. But I ate it because I was hungry. Flavors were a little strong of brown mustard which I could barely tolerate, if I were to ever order again, I'd definitely get the sauces on the side. Really fantastic espresso drinks. This place is for the coffee drinkers that don't just want a giant mug of sweet milk with a hint of coffee. This is for folks who want a proper latte in an 8oz glass made with top of the line coffee. The barista was also super nice and knowledgeable about the coffee processes. Cool cafe place! Inside it's air conditioned so that's a plus! But I like the layout where on the side of the cafe, there's a clear glass where you can see the prep work of the staff. They could be prepping food orders or bakery items! It's pretty awesome having a glance on what they do. I haven't had a chance to try their pastries! So full from the breakfast sandwich. It was fresh quality in my opinion. The bread was homemade. I love the matcha latte I ordered, the barista made a cute bear artwork or was it a panda? Lol still cute! Will be back again for dessert! Great, not-so-little, bakery/cafe located on a high-traffic side road (Kawili) off the main drag (Kanoelehua). We arrived on a Friday morning @ 7:30ish. It was not packed, but after ordering and taking one of a dozen or so tables, we noticed a steady stream of customers. The friendly, inviting staff are welcoming, helpful, and efficient. They are busy with "back of the house" work when customers are not present and are within earshot for service. The popover sandwiches will be a great addition to our repertoire of places to get ʻono mea ʻai (delish food). Of course we opted to finish the sandwiches at home so we could go back to the counter and order 1 of each the "puffs" (guava, lilikoʻi, haupia, mango, apple, chocolate), 2 scones (triple coffee, and red velvet), and a mocha donut. The only thing that was just okay, was the red velvet scone and only because the texture was more crumbly than the triple velvet one. This place is a hidden gem. If you are like me, needing a great cup of coffee and light and quality breakfast/snack/lunch after your flight, this is your spot. It is so close to the airport. The baked goods are amazing! One of the best yeast doughnuts I have had. They are known for their popovers. It is a must try with the liliikoi butter. The coffee is nothing but fantastic. Quality all around. Likely, one of the best cups you can get in Hilo.They use local roasters for beans. The cafe uses a La Marzocco espresso machine. Definitely give them a try. read more

The good: breakfast popover sandwich was delicious. Friendly staff. Good coffee. The bad: at 8am on a weekday the donuts were stale. They looked delicious but just so very disappointed by the stale flavor and texture, seemed at least 24 hours old. I think the donuts would've been okay but how does a donut place serve stale donuts early in the day? Neutral: the restaurant layout makes no sense. Make a flow guys, see donuts and menu at step one, continue in a line to checkout step 2. A big empty hall you walk across ordering part of your meal (donuts) one place then coffee and sandwich other place makes no sense. It feel like two unrelated businesses put together. Also no cohesive brand/theme. Overall I've never had a popover sandwich and it was great! VERY let down by the stale donuts. read more

WHY does this place have such a high rating???? It's hard to review this place .. because the impression it gives you is so weird and hard to explain.. but I'll try. When you walk in you .. they immediately greet you and seem nice.. But the floor is so sticky it's off putting. Then if you order quickly and simply they will pleasantly serve you. But don't ask for anything like ordinary butter or something that requires them to do any thing extra because zero care is given! And if you order coffee they will call your number inside the store. But don't leave to sit outside because they won't bother to tell you it's ready. Instead they'd rather let it sit and get cold. Now for the food.. the popovers were ok, would of been better warm or with a nice cinnamon butter option. the apple puff was empty and the coconut puff was the the best thing. The tiny bit of iced coffee we got was fantastic.. but there was maybe 5-6 oz in the 12 oz because of the huge amount of ice in the cups. Soooo even though the food was ok.. everything else made the experience so bizarre.. I'd never bother to go again. read more

Everything is delicious! The variety is wonderful and everything we tried (and I got almost one of everything) was so ono - flavors were perfect. Often you find sweets to be just too sweet and you can't taste the actual flavors of the treat, but all of these were a delight and that lilikoi butter also perfect!
