I can't say enough good things about this business! I originally found them on Instagram and have been following them there as well as checking out reviews on Yelp. All of their items are so creative and having a florist and a ceramics shop all in one place is the perfect marriage of products, and they happen to be a husband and wife team. We called the day of to see if we could order a bouquet for someone acting in the local production of The Music Man. We wanted her to have the full experience after the show with a beautiful bouquet to celebrate. We let them know what we were going for and that we could pick up at 4pm and we were all set. When I arrived I had no trouble parking on the street and the sign was so bright and welcoming. I was also welcomed into the shop by Da'Reen who was preparing for a class that evening. She was so nice and we chatted a bit as I took in the colorful shop. It is so fun inside!! She presented the bouquet and it was even better than what I expected. Such a great selection of colors and flower varieties. They were so carefully arranged and smelled wonderful too. The photos don't do it justice- it was even prettier in person. I'll definitely come here for more floral arrangements and I'm excited to see what events they'll have coming up that I can go to. read more

I have to start by saying that I am a BIG flowers girl. Meaning, I love receiving flowers for any and all occasions and I have received many a bouquet in my life. My best friend from out of state recently sent me a bouquet for my birthday from Poppy and Pot and, without question, this is the most beautiful and unique bouquet of flowers I have ever received. I can't stop staring at it and talking about how absolutely STUNNING it is! The colors are vibrant and there is a variety of rose that I've never seen before that is so visually interesting. Recently had a pottery wheel throwing class with Kev at Poppy and Pot and it was SOO much fun and very affordable. We had a class of 7 people total, and while most people came with a partner, I was flying solo, but I felt totally at ease taking this class alone. Kev had some nice music on to set the tone and his easy going and knowledgeable personality was perfect for teaching this class. His instructions were detailed but not overwhelming and translated well to a person who is a beginner at pottery. After his instructions, it was our turn to try and he made sure to spend a little time with each of us. Before I knew it, it had been a little over two hours! I still have to go back for the second part to glaze my piece and I cannot wait. After the new year, I fully plan on taking another class. Such a great couples date, birthday, bachelor/bachelorette party idea, or great for a gal who's new to Sac and just wanting to try something new. Oh! Also, Parking was convenient during the class time (noon) and there's a pizza place next door. Made for an overall great day! read more

Beautiful little store with lots of fantastic homemade pottery. They offer bouquets to fill them also! I didn't buy anything, but looked around. For $10 you can get a surprise tiny vase from a vending machine. I picked up a mug to see how much, and it was $45. They mentioned having pottery classes coming up in July or August (2024). Can't wait to sign up for those. Visited during a Yelp event so the owners were very busy chatting with everyone. read more

I've trusted her with arrangements for special occasions before and when I FINALLY got engaged and set a date, she was one of the first vendors I booked because I had to have her. Inside is such a cute vibe. . When you walk in, it's all colorful and poppy. Loved the checkered rug and a bright yellow sofa. It's just pleasing to the eye and brighten up ones day. . Loved how they offer pottery classes. They create their own, painted, glaze it and you can out a plant in it. Imagine working on a project like that with a friend. It be so much fun. . In the back they have parking space and they have different art vendors selling arts and craft and even a rotating food truck with delicious food. . Service with buying art here is informative about the art piece which has a story and inspiration to it. I even found some feather to add to my hat. . Overall if you are looking for some group activity with friends and love pottery this happy place is where we need to be. I ordered the "Born This Way" floral bouquet for my daughter the day before her birthday, to be delivered on her birthday, the next day. I live across the country, but I wanted to support a small business in Sacramento (of course, I relied on Yelp for some recommendations). I requested a specific time, but the shop was closed for an event, so my time slot wasn't available. However, I received a call right away providing me with an alternate time. The flowers arrived a bit earlier than stated during the call, but it worked out fine. My daughter said the flowers were beautiful and so fresh. She even called the shop to let them know how beautiful she thought the flowers were. Also, I received a confirmation email with a photo of the flowers that were left at the door and my daughter received a voice message, as well. Wow! So excited for this shop to open in the neighborhood. We found them on Instagram & knew we had to check it out :) Highlights - Absolutely beautiful pottery, the store was basically sold out from the holidays (which should attest to the beautiful pieces created)! They had floral arrangements as well that makes it easy to find a unique piece and add your florals too - great present! The vibe was immaculate, you'd just have to go to experience it The owners are the coolest people. We checked out the store on a stormy day after the holidays & they warmly welcomed us into their shop! They don't do private classes (yet....) but it sounds like some group classes could be offered in the future!! They have a mystery 'gum ball' machine filled with TINY POTS. Super cute shop and a nice funky vibe! We recently had our 70s themed anniversary party at poppy+pot and it was sooo cute! Da'Reen did our florals and they turned out amazing. She is amazing at what she does and can really see your vision. We were happy to be able to have our event in her cool space. There are a few things that I would suggest if planning a party or mid sized event at her shop. 1. Is to understand that this is their work place first. You may not be able to move things or declutter their space, which for us it worked for us given our theme. 2. Make sure you are clear with the time you need to set up and the space needed also. We were stressed on the time we needed to set up and the logistics of the space. I definitely would have planned it better if these things were explained to me before hand. 3. Make sure you do a walk through after the event with one of the owners. We were hit with a $75 cleaning fee for little things that we didn't see or know. This was disappointing on our end, because we all felt like we worked hard to clean and leave their space as original as we could. So make sure you go through everything, look for crumbs or food marks on the table. Overall, we will definitely be ordering all our florals from Poppy+Pot in the future!
