Review of 09/01 I drove and met up with friends for coffee and breakfast bagels about 10miles from my side of town. .after reading all the good reviews figured it was worth a try. When we arrived there was one worker with a long line.. It was 11am and first thing the worker said was no drip coffee and no bagel sandwiches left. We ordered Americano coffees which weren't bad. There was 3 of us. Felt bad for the one worker but who runs out of coffee and bagels in the morning ? Bad business practice and then your tipping on top? I wanted some "regular old" donuts. None of that fancy stuff with cereal or bacon or any of that stuff. Saw this place on social media so decided to try it out. Cute little donut shop nestled in a small shopping center. They had exactly what I was looking for. Glazed twists, sugar twists, maple & chocolate bars. White & chocolate sprinkled. Jackpot. I arrived around 5:45am and they were out of lemon filled, very early to be out of any options. While standing in line, I see on the order board that you get 20% off a dozen. Great! I ended up getting a dozen plus 2 extra, 14 total. I was shocked, to see that my total was $29 plus change. I asked the cashier if that was with the 20% discount. He said yes. Not sure if it's me being out of touch with the cost of donuts, but that seemed very high to me. I usually pay around $20-22 at Krispy Kreme. The donuts were good, I just don't believe $29 for 14 donuts good. I may be back for one or two donuts to scratch my itch when I'm feeling like donuts again, but I will not spend that much on a dozen again. read more

I love their donuts always great. I've been coming here for a while and there's a young girl with black hair who has been working mornings. She consistently has an attitude and doesn't acknowledge when you walk through the door. This morning I walked in there were no other customers and she was explaining something to a young male worker. I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me. I went in later in the day which is probably the worst time because donuts aren't super fresh but they had a decent selection available. I got a maple bar, chocolate glazed and a Biscoff donut. I also got a kolachi. The donuts were good, I do think the specialty donut, Biscoff, I felt was a maple donut with the cookies added to the top of it but it was good. Even arriving in the last hour before their closing, there was a great selection of donuts and pastries. I also received the friendliest customer service from the wonderful Summer. I am a sucker for donut classics, and let me tell you, it's been difficult to find French crullers, chocolate frosted chocolate cake donuts with nuts, and a favorite of the hubby's, blueberry cake donuts. Well, hallelujah Poppy's has them and they are DELICIOUS! To quote the hubby, "That's a top notch blueberry, right there!" Poppy's Donuts has absolutely nailed the texture of cake donuts. Wow! It's been 10 years since I updated this review. Really nothing has changed in terms of how I feel about this donut shop. Still my favorite in the city. The good news is that they have expanded into a much larger space and now provide seating to sit and enjoy your donuts and drinks. They also offer some cute merchandise for purchase and they have added some additional treats like kolaches. I love this polish version of a hotdog! So tasty with some mustard and served warm of course. A couple of weeks ago they hosted a fun Father's Day event where you could come in to purchase a dozen donuts for the price of a half dozen donuts. We made sure to get in on this great offer. I will say the two donuts that I got were pretty fresh. I was very satisfied with the sprinkle cake doughnut. The blueberry was good, but not the best blueberry donut I've had. The service was pretty standard and nothing extraordinary. The girl had just asked me what I wanted and she backed it up for me and that was that. Hey do you also have a good variety of coffee and it didn't look too bad, but I did not end up getting anything. The inside is clean and there are a few tables available to sit. This is located in a smaller shopping center, but there is plenty of parking available. If I do come to the side of town, I'd probably pop back in and get me a donut.
