They responded to my text amazingly fast. I texted them early Sunday morning around 7 AM. Told me someone would be coming by 11-1 PM. I thought that was awesome. BTW not a fan of AI, but their AI call center is amazing. 1 PM (name withheld) shows up with his tool bag and walks in. He seemed to be in a hurry on the way in and on the way out. He pulls the refrigerator off the wall, does (something?) Pushes it back and tells me "my compressor is dead". He sends me an estimate for $1046.78. I place $100 cash down to get repairs booked so I now owe $946.78 on a "dead compressor" repair. He then scoots out the door after maybe 15 minutes. Knowing a compressor failure is a costly failure, it caused us quite a bit of stress. I decided, against the advice of my wife, to still give ProStar a try. She was ready to cancel repairs and buy a new costly refrigerator which I talked her out of because I know almost all brands are garbage except for Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid. Here comes Shawn on Tuesday. Super guy, diagnosed the problem correctly with pictures for me, got to the part that was actually malfunctioning (freezer fan assembly with faulty sensor causing a big block of ice over it) and got it back up running for way less than "a dead compressor" like "expert" (name withheld) said. $481 bill plus my $100 deposit. I'm giving you all 4-5 stars because of the initial poor customer service I got.

The technician has ghosted me for over a month despite multiple texts and calls to them, and I am very tempted to call the attorney general for bad business practice. DO NOT EVER USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! Edit 8/1/25 It turns out the service I used was a scam using this company name. While I understand that I was scammed by a bad player, I wasn't offered any help, not even asking if they could come out to check the appliance and fix it properly. All I got was an explanation of what their invoice looks like and that they were the only one who would have visited. No assistance, no offer of help, no building of customer relations, just a sorry we are not responsible....tough luck. They are aware of the scams, it would be wise to warn their loyal customers of the threats and to take measures to ensure the bad players don't ruin their good name or to take measures to make their services top of the search list in google.

So I searched under appliance repair, even though it wasn't the actual appliance I was needing to Find parts for, and randomly chose a company to call and am glad I chose this company! They could have easily said 'he didn't have what I need when I told the gentleman what I was looking. Instead he took the time to explain what material and tools I needed to look for at a home improvement store, then went on to tell me how to make what I needed, including fabricating the wall plate with the leftover material. Polite, friendly, knowledgeable and just good costumer service, I will definitely be saving their information for future needs.

I REALLY wish I would have read the reviews on this place before buying here but moving and in a…read morehurry to get a washer and dryer, I went against my better judgment and bought here. Washer doesn't work. It did one cycle of laundry just fine and the 2nd day I had it it stopped working, it doesn't drain the water, it didn't spin my clothes so I had to hand wring them out and throw them in the dryer! I called and complained about it, seeing as I was only 2 days into the warranty, they said they would send a tech to fix it between 5:30-7. The guy showed up at 8:42. I didn't even want to open the door because I didn't know who it was. I let him in, he was on my patio for 10 minutes trying to fix the washer, and then decided that it was the motherboard and he had to take it in. He brings back the washer the next day around 8pm once again. I try another load of clothes. It turns on gets halfway through the cycle and shuts off. So here I am ONCE AGAIN, hand wringing out my clothes for the second time this happened late on a Saturday night. I called the following Monday and Ralph or Randy, whatever his name is told me that a tech would be out on Tuesday at 5:30.....NO ONE SHOWS UP. I call Wednesday morning around 9am asking him about why the tech didn't come out yesterday, and he said that he thinks the tech deleted my route. I don't understand how because "randy" took my information down. So then he told me the lady that I purchased the washer with would be in later and he was going to talk to her about replacing it. He calls me back and 10:45 to ask me when I purchased the washer, I tell him the 24th. I think he was only asking because he wanted to see if that warranty was over or not... NOPE, still have that 5 day old warranty sir! So he said ok he was just waiting for the lady to come into work....6 hours go by and I don't get a phone call, she must be the WORST employee ever to show up 6hours late for work! so I called and gave him my information once again, he acted like he didn't even know who I was and we have spoken 4 times since I bought the washer in the last 5 days!! and he says "oh I have you down for tomorrow between 3-5pm" I asked if he was going to even call me and let me know that he put me down for that time and of course he says yes, but I don't know how that could be unless he was calling the day of to let me know, which is unacceptable because there is no way to know if I would even be available at that time. So now I am sitting here waiting on tomorrow, keep in mind that there is 4 day old water still sitting in the washer... it STINKS! I'm just so annoyed by the whole process. Do yourself a favor and save up for a brand new washer and dryer, or any other appliance for that matter! I either want my stuff replaced or I want my money back, of course I would get my money because "all sales are final" What a scam! I am editing this review and adding 2 stars only because the technician Pepe is awesome, working late to fix my washer. It is fixed and running, not sure for how long. Hopefully for at least a year or 2.

I paid, however, they said they had to finish repairs on the one I picked. I needed a refrigerator ASAP. I paid for a loaner until mine was ready. They wanted to make sure it was working properly. They delivered the loaner and took away my old broken frig. The loaner had a leak. They came to repair the loaner. Finally, a week later my "new" frig was ready. They removed the loaner and installed my "new" frig. Everything was working fine until 1 year and two months later our "new" refrigerator stopped making ice and was not cooling. I called them and paid ($45) for a diagnosis. They said it would cost $600 to repair and recommend I buy a new refrigerator. I asked about my warranty, they would not honor it since it was past 2 months. The compressor was no good, which btw, they installed and was not an LG compressor. Beware! They buy scratch and dent in need of repair appliances and do their own modification, and not according to manufacturers specifications. They also do not use genuine parts, as I found out later. They will pull from other units to "repair". This may or may not come up with your home warranty company.

We were told our parts would arrive in a week. Ten days later, they showed up with only half of what was ordered, casually mentioning the rest were on backorder. There was no communication whatsoever -- no service window, no heads up, no courtesy call. We didn't hear a single word from them until they were already at the gate of our subdivision. When they arrived, they admitted they were hoping the one part they did bring would fix the issue. It didn't. Only then did they inform us that the remaining part would take another three weeks to arrive. And then came the final blow: they told us that due to an error on their part, the final price would now be $400 more than the quote we had already agreed to. Incomplete parts, zero communication, guesswork instead of proper diagnostics, and a surprise price hike -- every step of this process was unacceptable. I strongly advise avoiding Mr. Appliance.

He is currently working out of a flea market building off Eisenhauer Road. To get to him, you need to go around to the back of the building and go up the stairs where you see the Dyson sign, he is just inside the door and to the left. His space is pretty cramped, but it is clear he is still doing a brisk business. He also fixes and sells sewing machines and lamps in addition to all types of vacuums. Anyway, we have a Dyson V10 that wasn't working so we took it to Richard. He diagnoses for free! The vacuum needed a full service/cleaning (not surprising after 5 years of use) as well as a new circuit board. The total charge before tax was around $128, which is a lot less than buying a new vacuum! The vacuum came back to us looking like new and works properly again. I am only giving 4 stars because something with how the canister was reattached isn't quite right, and it is difficult to push the lever to empty it after vacuuming. We may have to take it back to Richard to have him adjust that. Also, be aware that as of right now he is cash or Venmo only! I told him about Square and how he can start accepting credit cards and he seemed interested in that concept, but best to assume he doesn't take credit cards unless this page gets updated later.
