Our table was nice and our server was friendly. The menu was varied, but of course triple tail was their specialty. We started out with warm crunchy rolls with butter and cinnamon butter. It was so good!!!! I got a Caesar salad which was fairly large and was really good. My entree was shrimp stuffed with crab, served over rice and a side of beans and carrots. The food arrived after we got to enjoy our salads, which I love. My entree arrived nice and hot. The shrimp and crab were delicious and I enjoyed the rice and vegetables. Atmosphere - When we pulled into the parking lot of a strip mall, my expectations lessened quickly. I expected a very generic, sterile atmosphere. Thankfully, I was very pleased to find the opposite. The restaurant is very welcoming and comfortable. There are nice design touches throughout. Service - here is where I am a bit conflicted. We were a party of 4 who arrived 30 prior to our reservation with the goal of having a cocktail first at the bar. Fortunately there were seats available and we very much enjoyed our drinks and service at the bar. In fact, our bartender was very welcoming and she is a very good mixologist. On the other hand, our server for dinner started out on a positive note. However, once our order was taken and food delivered, he never stopped by until we had finished our meals. This is a very big negative for me when I am dining at an upscale restaurant. Food - There were at least 8 entrees that looked appealing to me. In the end, I ordered the Crab Stuffed Tripletail entree. This meal was as good as advertised! It was cooked to perfection and sauce was delicious. The entree included a salad and I chose the spinach salad and it too was very. Stopped in for a "Linner". Around 2:30. Never been here before and really just stumbled upon it...glad we did. After promptly being seated, our server immediately put us at ease and elevated the mood. She was great throughout the entire meal. The food was elevated with the Lobster Mac very tasty and the Grilled Chicken sandwich cooked perfectly, and with two pieces made for a filling sandwich. The kids opted for chicken tenders which looked great and got their seal of approval. A high bar with these Chicken Tendy aficionados. Never heard of Tripletail as a fish til I dined here. LOVE IT! A flakey white fish. Here it is served several ways but my fave is stuffed with crab with a virus sauce. Of course, as the name suggests they specialize in seafood but you have options. One in our party is GF, dairy free but our server checked with the kitchen to accommodate her allergies. Gotta love that! They also serve a smoked old fashion which bourbon lovers rave about--and it smells heavenly. We have been back several times. I love the covered outdoor space with a wall of water cascading down. So pretty. I'd tell you to go but you're making it harder to get a reservation. But go. You won't be disappointed. read more

We had great food and great service in this very comfortable well run restaurant. Parking was easy; the lot wraps clear around the restaurant so it's abundant. Restaurant itself has a fun classy/casual vibe, and the evening we were there the music was upbeat but not overwhelming - we did not have to scream across the table, thank you Tripletail. Our server, Anna S., said she was new, but she had way more serving chops than many many experienced waitstaff I have experienced. She was a delight, and it was a packed house, so she was getting a trial by fire and succeeding!!!!! We were a party of 6 and everyone ordered a different entree, that can be challenging for a kitchen, but this one got all 6 entrees perfectly cooked to our table hot and well plated at the same time. The Landings has been updating and adding places and I've wanted to visit a lot of the places there and Tripletail was one. I took my girls there for lunch today and we had a very pleasant experience. We beat the lunch crowd and had a nice table towards the back. I enjoyed the shrimp tacos that came with beans and rice-simply delicious. My daughter had a garden salad and added shrimp. She said it was also good! My other daughter liked the chicken wrap and fries! Our server kept our water glasses filled and was attentive. The location was nice and I loved the option for inside or outdoor eating. If you're debating what to get, don't overthink it. You can't go wrong with their signature tripletail dish. The citrus cream sauce is delightful!! Another honorable mention is the snapper. I'd recommend the puttanesca sauce (although our server Colton said the lemon butter is great too). Speaking of, he was amazing from start to finish! Very on it. Our drinks stayed full and we had everything we needed. Other things to note: they give you complimentary bread with two butter options - regular and a delicious cinnamon butter. Bruce and I decided to go out for happy hour and we were headed for several different places, until I saw Tripletail listed ... ordinarily we would go to Walt's, but Bruce loves seafood. They have several Happy Hour meal specials, but only a limited selection of premium cocktails for a few dollars off. We ordered bacon-wrapped scallops and ahi tuna poke. The scallops were good and Bruce enjoyed them. I liked the tuna poke, but it came on a southern-style bed of corn and green pepper and it was a little sweet. Our servers were very good and the restaurant is very pretty inside, but there were barely any customers. It turned out this was the original location for the Gecko's chain, and is owned by Geckos. I haven't left a review for Geckos ... and I won't due to my policy of "If you're not going to go there again ..." (don't). Obviously there are many Geckos locations and the one I went to in Bradenton caused me a lot of personal trouble as service was so insanely slow that I missed an important appointment I should have been able to make (45 min for server to respond at all - bartender took our orders but food another 45 min - equals wah-wah bzzzt you'll never make it on time). So, this is the model for chains like Fleming's, which has Paul Martin's, the upscale fresh food restaurant. The Gecko owners obviously want to provide quality dining experiences and I think Tripletail is good, but although this was their original location and The Landings look like they want to attract a variety of restaurants, the restaurant is also next to the Dollar store, and I don't think that helps due to the clientele of the store vs. the restaurant crowd. read more

I would have like a little kick to it, but it was good as is with a squeeze of lemon. The mussels citrus butter sauce was really good. Street tacos with grouper had good flavor. The green sauce definitely tied it all together. The lobster bites came out great. Friend well with a great meat to batter ratio. The pina colada sauce, tied it all together really good! The tuna tartar was light and fresh. Loved to seaweed and pickled garlic with it. The tripletail linguini with the wine and garlic sauce tasted even better when I added salt and pepper. My least favorite dish would be the lobster Mac and cheese. It's was dry with not much cheese/sauce to it. The lobster though was prepared well and had a good flavor to it. Some of our dish's and drinks were order during happy hour. A great deal to try a few of their entree items for half the price (smaller portions). An excellent evening Recently vaccinated, my wife and I are just beginning to venture out to restaurants again. We looked for a seafood place on Yelp and discovered Tripletail. Open for only about 6 weeks, we decided to give it a try. Other reviews stated they were part of the Gecko Group so we knew we could expect a professionally run operation. In fact, they are located at The Landings where there used to be a Gecko's restaurant. Enough background, we had an excellent evening. It was busy when we arrived, but we had reservations and got right in, even scoring a table in the outdoor patio. Our table by a waterfall screen was spaced so far from other tables we felt very comfortable. After a few minutes, our server came over and for the rest of the meal we very much enjoyed interacting with him. He did a superb job, and we can be a bit high maintenance sometimes. I started with their Lobster Bisque, creamy and flavorful with pieces of lobster. It arrived quickly after it was ordered, along with table bread. A small salad followed, I had selected their Caesar. That one seemed about average. For my entrée I went with their Shrimp and Sea Scallops Combo. We had learned from talking with our server the blackened preparation was actually spicy, and it was. Not hot buffalo wings level of spice but noticeable. I liked it. The dish had 4 large shrimp and 4 large scallops, a choice of potato and their vegetable. It was excellent. Interestingly, at least to us, the first thing we noticed when our food arrived was the shine, we are no longer used to having food prepared with oil. It is good to eat someone else's cooking for a change. The pace of the meal was perfect for us, not too slow yet not rushed, the meal took us just over an hour.
