Porchside bar is a block away from Commercial Street. It's a two part bar - we went to the side that stays open later since the piano side was closing up shop by 10pm. The intimate bar was staffed by two friendly bartenders. Porchside is a you-call-it drink type of place since there's no menu. The bartenders are happy to look up a drink online if they're unsure of the ingredients of a specific cocktail you're interested in. On a Monday night, it was pretty quiet. My husband and I were the only ones in the bar when we walked in, but about 6 people trailed in shortly afterwards. The playlist was pretty decent and if you want to smoke, just head out to the outdoor porch area and take a seat on one of the many bar-stools. My only gripe is that it's cash only here. Nice bar and the new patio is great. The bartender was not friendly and two drinks were 41 before top which is expensive even for PTown.

My first trip to the new porch Bar. Nice renovation but not so nice bartender. Not a good first impression.

I love this bar. Cozy fire, free pool table and generous pours on the drinks. I'm definitely glad we stayed at the Gifford Inn

Very lovely low key place to grab a quiet drink just outside the chaos of commercial.

It's always on our list of recommended dine-in spots when friends/family visit Provincetown. We got TAKEOUT for the first time tonight and were impressed enough to write a review. We're in town for Holly Folly (Christmas/holiday weekend) and have a 9mo old. We knew we'd be doing takeout for dinner. One of our other favorite spots in town wouldn't do a takeout order (too busy). We were hesitant to get something from Canteen because they had been slammed all day with a crowd from their outdoor holiday market (also highly recommended), but took a chance. Two orders of fish and chips. Staff (probably exhausted from the busy day) were so kind and friendly. The order came out fast. Really good quality. Big portions (see photo) incl French fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce. We're glad our initial idea didn't work out and we had a great takeout dinner from Canteen! Thanks so much!

I got a celery soda to go with my cold lobster roll ($30)! I'd definitely try the frozé next time. We also ordered a side of the Brussels sprouts ($10) which were doused in a tangy chili sauce... they were my favorite. Lobster roll was missing something... I found the lobster salad more bland than I was expecting. If I decide to get lobster again, I'll probably try Box Lunch or another spot, but I'd return here for the fish and chips. Service was friendly. You're expected to bus your table.

You have to walk up a slight hill on Carver Street to get here, and it was no surprise that it was relatively packed with all the terrace seats taken. And yet, the ambiance was quite chill. Everyone was looking relaxed and definitely not on the make. Customers skewed a tad older here, which made us feel right at home. We were particularly impressed that the veteran bartender had a mixing container dedicated to their espresso martinis, so of course, we ordered a pair for $16 each (photo: https://yelp.to/VmjWNmEyk0). For some wishful reason, I thought it was a full-out gay bar, but no, when we heard the booming voice of the drunken slattern at the bar, we knew it was a place that welcomed anybody and everybody. Nothing wrong with that but some show tunes would've been nice. We soon realized P-Town doesn't really have straight bars, just different flavors of gay ones. The bartender was friendly, but the vibe was off for us. We weren't into pool or ping-pong but still made time for a couple of their signature cocktails in paper cups, the $16 Margarita for Jamie and the $14 Blue Hawaiian for me (Photo 2).
