A Porsche is a sleek, driving, sports car. It is built on precision and handling. They have recently upped their game with a line of family style SUV's, such as the Macon. A friend of mine, just bought a car there and recommended I speak to Dexter Jay. So, I came in and looked around while I waited for him. I told him that I would be happy to come back and make an appointment to see him. He was busy with another customer and said he would arrange a test drive for me. Well, I have been looking at cars for months now, and I have always gone with a salesman to show me the features of the newer model car. If you don't know the features of the new car, you are setting yourself up for disaster. He said the car was being brought down. He walked me down stairs and got me situated in the car and then, left and went back upstairs. Really? I thought if he was busy, that he would have another sales associate go for the test drive. But, no, I was on my own. Well, this very expensive car, seemed like it was going to stall out at each stop light. Then, when you put your foot on the gas, there is a few seconds lag time before it kicks into action. Truly, not what I expected from a Porsche. A Porsche is supposed to be fast, have a tight handling, and smooth acceleration. I have driven enough cars to know, that some of these features could have been adjusted by having a salesperson in the car. But, having no one to show me the features, really put me and the car at a disadvantage. I thought Porsche had a gorgeous show room and plenty of people to meet and greet you. But, I was really disappointed in Mr. Jay, who didn't take the time or extend the effort to share the features of this new car. I am really glad my friend had a good experience. I have found that males are taken a lot more seriously, than females. I am really disappointed in this experience. PS. The prices on their vehicles are a lot higher than the MSRP. I drove a taycan when it first came out but long story short, returned it to an ex after about a half year drive. That was a Bethesda store purchase as well. 2 years passed and I still couldn't get the Taycan out of my head so this time, I got it myself. Brian Matos is the sole car salesman whom I've ever felt does not meet that preconception of "sneaky" practices. He's through, straightforward, helpful, and highly personable. He made an otherwise stressful situation, a breeze. I wasn't even thinking of getting the Neptune Blue but I now have my hands on a 2023 model. I appreciate Brian's follow ups and his willingness to help. He's got a patience of a saint and I just can't say enough good things about him. I decided to lease this car bc it's an EV- id usually buy a car outright but I don't have much faith in it, especially after my first taycan experience was a dumpster fire (the screen went black and I couldn't move the car). So after 3 years, I'll probably go for a different car and purchase a 911. I'm hoping Brian's still there bc I'm going to need his handholding for that. I purchased two cars from P Bethesda: a 2023 Macan S and 2025 718 Boxster Style Edition. Up to the payment, the ordering process was quite good. However, no bargain, no dealer markup but at MSRP for both. (Porsche dealers make a nice profit on MSRP cars never in stock). However, both cars were delivered to me incomplete, requiring return trips and ultimate cancellation of services I had initially purchased on contract. In both cases the audio/Porsche connect was not set up and I had to return to dealership. In the case of the Boxster, I ordered a dash cam, passenger side. Boxster was not delivered with dash cam as someone failed to order the correct part (so I was told). Also this dealership sold me a non-Porsche extended warranty. I canceled my extended warranty for the Boxster. I am trading/buying a 2025 GTS 4.0 from another dealership and I buying a Porsche extended warranty from them, a 5/60 platinum at $4512. The P Bethesda "Road Ready Protect Mechanical Failure Service Contract" was $4562. I ask myself who owns RRP company? Will they be around in four years? Can I use this at any P dealership? Why should I need to even ask? I want a Porsche service contract and I was NOT offered one! Never again Porsche Bethesda, especially service, rude at a minimum. The worst dealer service department I have ever visited. A true 1 star, service department. Find yourself an independent for service. I was quoted for my Macan S, Y3, approx $2200 (all three closest), paid less than $1200 and I bet the mechanic was far better experienced than the Porsche tech. Plenty of independents in NOVA beyond the beltway, just great, friendly, reasonable priced. In the case of Y2 and Y3 for my Macan S almost half of the dealer quote, and techs/owner have decades of experience. No discount on my ordered cars form Bethesda, MSRP and in both cases and in both cases cars delivered incomplete. They had allocations, and do seem easier to order than the other two with deposits for the que and 20% deposit (refundable after car sale) for some orders. Better yet, buy/order you Porsche out of town!!!! Far nicer experience, far more professional than I have found with this dealership, Porsche Bethesda. read more

Is car buying process ever fun? My visit here was a very pleasant experience. When you pull into this dealership (used to be where Audi and Porsche were in same building down the street), you are greeted by service folks. They will valet park your car. Take the elevator up one floor and you will see the sales floor. Nice little snack area with sodas, coffee, snacks and such. There is a tv room assuming people waiting for car serviced. I had the pleasure working with Dexter Jay. This is a big purchase for me and man he felt like a really good friend, working with me. Made this whole process very easy and very comfortable. Did a whole reveal after deciding on the purchase and it was awesome. No stars for my recent experience. Took my 911 in for service to top that was inoperable. Took the dealer 3 months to fix the problem which turned out to be a faulty motor. The same motor this dealer replaced less than 12 months earlier. Calls and texts for updates went unanswered. I was overcharged by $1000 for labor that should have been covered under the part warranty. I was promised a water test would be performed as part of the repair which never happened. When I finally picked up the car there was water in the rear passenger footwell. Unfortunately, some repairs can only be performed by the dealer. Based on this experience, I never want to take my car to this dealer again. Car was sold 2 days after I got it back. I relayed my experience to CEO of Sonic Automotive (parent company of Porsche Bethesda) and Porsche North America and have received no response. Nice to know that corporate cares so little about its customers. Buyer beware! read more

One of the worst car buying experience ever. They had a beautiful 2019 Cayenne CPO that I was genuinely interested in. I called on Labor day at 8:30 AM to ensure I was the very first customer enquiring about the vehicle - was connected to the sales manager Joshua Jones. I told him I was a serious buyer but being out of state I would need a day or 2 to come in and pick up the car. To my surprise I was told they do not hold vehicles for any customer (regardless of the $5,000 deposit I offered) UNLESS I finance my vehicle through their dealership ! When I responded I am more comfortable working through my own credit union they said there would be no problems matching the rate offered by them. Joshua then delegated my case to his sales associate Brian Matos, who got in touch with me around 11 AM. I confirmed that the numbers looked good, I did not want to negotiate and was ok with the price they had and financing the car through them, so long as they could give me a day to drive down and pick up the car. Brian made me fill out the credit app at 11:30 AM and also took my Credit card details for a $5000 deposit towards the car. I was told he would get back to me real quick letting me know he had confirmed everything with Josh and the car was reserved under my name. But then, no calls, no texts until 3 PM. When I texted Brian asking if everything was all set, I was told they could not match my CU's rate in all likelihood but his manager Josh would not allow him to block the car unless I still financed through them ! This was arm twisting the customer to finance through the dealership. Since I liked the particular car so much I was still okay with all these unprofessional conditions and kept texting/emailing repeatedly, but never got a confirmation untill the end of the day. I then got a call from Brian casually informing me that ohh, by the way the car was sold to another customer ! The lack of professional conduct makes them look more like a sleazy salesperson than a reputed Porsche dealer. I am not sure if Porsche knows about how they arm twist out of state customers to finance through them, if they want the car. To top it all they still do not honor their word, even if you agree all their bizarre conditions. read more

Beware out of state buyers, this dealer will tell you anything to sell a vehicle. They were untruthful re the overall condition of the car. For ex, I have a text from the salesperson telling me that the front brakes were @ 70%, rear brakes @ 60%. When I took the car for a service locally (with about 20 add'l miles since the sale) to a highly regarded Porsche facility I was informed that the brakes were under 50% all around. The top doesn't close properly either. The car didn't pass CA emissions the first time despite the fact that I specifically asked about this issue before purchasing the car. I raised these issues with the dealership and was basically told to pound sand. I purchased another used vehicle from Porsche N. Scottsdale about 2 yrs ago and the experience couldn't have been more different, that other dealer delivered great service/vehicle. Based on that positive experience, I trusted Porsche Bethesda, big mistake. read more

I went back and forth about posting this review, as there was some good that happened across two service repairs, mainly the General Manager, Quinn, who stepped in after I complained and was very customer service friendly and provided me a discount on my 2nd repair. That being said, I simply can't overlook the fact that after both repairs at Porsche Bethesda, I was given back a car that broke down within 100 miles (TWICE) because the exact issue I originally brought the car in for kept repeating. I originally brought my car in because of a strong coolant smell. During the 1st repair, Porsche Bethesda did not do their own independent diagnosis to determine the issue, and took a previous shop's diagnosis that the heating core was the problem and needed replaced. Unsurprisingly, after picking my car up, the check engine light came on and the coolant tank had emptied within 100 miles. During the 2nd repair, I kept getting passed around advisor to advisor (Louis, Phil, Alex) and no one was acknowledging/owning up to the fact that the 1st repair wasn't successful (how could it be when within 100 miles my car breaks down with the same symptoms I originally brought it in for). Only when I complained to the General Manager did I get clear statements on what was going on, and a discount on my 2nd repair (replacing the coolant tank). Unfortunately, after picking up the car after the 2nd repair, deja vu happened again, though in addition to the check engine light coming on and the coolant tank emptying, the car now rapidly overheated and started smoking. I had to get the car towed, but this time to a new shop as I just didn't trust Porsche Bethesda anymore. When the next service shop I brought the car to told me the previous shop (Porsche Bethesda) did not properly bleed the coolant system after the last repair, leading to multiple air pockets that led to the myriad of issues, words like negligence and carelessness came to mind, hence my 2 star review. Once again, Quinn was very good, and the advisors are generally nice when you talk to them (though again, none of them took accountability once issues arose), but in terms of fixing actual problems and not giving you cars that go up in smoke shortly after, I simply cannot recommend using Porsche Bethesda. read more

Purchased the vehicle because I really was in love with it. On my first night driving it, the service engine light came on. Contacted the salesman Waseem who told me to see if Mercedes could diagnose it over the weekend or if not bring it on monday. Mercedes did not have availability so I took it back to them on Monday. When I came in the service guy I believe Alex checked it and told me that it was an issue with the PCV valve and he cleared it so he did something snazzy and turned the notification off. I took it to emissions, THE SAME DAY and it failed. Now.. according to the carfax it had just passed an emissions test before the purchase. I contacted Waseem who in turn connected me with Malcolm the sales manager. From the beginning he seemed caring and accepted the vehicle back said they would order the part and it would be there in 2 days. Looks can be deceiving, in the end I learned that hes really a piece of crap. They afforded me a loaner vehicle. Not a Porsche. Not a Mercedes. Not something within the same car class. But a Jeep. The truck smelled like chemicals, they gave it to me with almost an empty tank of gas and overly uncomfortable. I accepted it like a trooper. Days went pass and no call from the service team. I called and they were still waiting on the part. Malcolm informed me he had ordered the part from multiple venders. Fed up I took the loaner back and retrieved my vehicle until the part would come in. During the exchange, I expressed my frustrations with this process because we were maybe 2 weeks into the purchase, Malcolm swore he would make things right including getting the vehicle repaired to be able to pass inspection. He also assured me that they would provide a rebate/incentive towards my first payment as a way of smoothing things over. On week 3 the part came in. I took the vehicle in for repair because it had to be inspected in 48 hours before additional costs would be due. They repaired it and I immediately took it to the self service inspection station in DC. FAILED. Called Malcolm and he told me that it would need to be driven 100 miles or so to reset. I did as told and drove 130 miles between dc va and Baltimore. Went to inspection the next day...FAIL. They told me that the monitors needed to be reset and to drive. I did and did. But also purchased a OBD2 checker so that I would know when the car was ready for emissions. 3 days passed of driving and still not reset. I drove to Atlanta Ga for a few days and back and checked it along the way. Still got the error message that vehicle was not ready for emissions. I reached out to Malcom via text and phone and no response. No answer. I ended up having to take it to Mercedes to find that when they installed the part, they did not secure something which was preventing me from passing. With this purchase I am out of extra money for failed emissions, gas because of the type of repairs made the vehicle burn gas faster and not being able to enjoy the vehicle from day 1, having to pay my note for a vehicle that was not fully functional 90% of the time. Im completely fed up. My issue with the entire situation was I did not receive the quality of service that a Porsche dealer should provide. Starting with the repairs they took the easy route by wanting to fix the problem themselves. Then throw the Jeep on me as if they are helping me. Prior to the purchase of the vehicle from when I expressed interest Waseem literally called me twice a day or texted to see if I was ready to seal the deal. The communication during my entire strife of trying to get this vehicle repaired to pass emissions was HORR I BLE. Had to call back to back to get some type of response. For the past week I reached out to Malcom to follow up and no response. Today Ive learned that he blocked both of my mobile numbers. The level of unprofessionalness, disrespect and being overlooked is uncanny. I do not recommend purchase of a Hot Wheels car from this dealer let alone a luxury car. read more

March 13th I decided I would purchase the marketed 2021 Metallic Grey with Red Interior Panamera 4. My 44th right around the corner . Settled, signed paperwork, money paid for service and maintenance with a grand finale pickup scheduled for Friday, March 17th. I received disappointing surprise call that there was undisclosed damage to the bumper on a PORSCHE. I requested a 2k additional discount as this is so disappointing . How do I know there is no other structural damage. The customer service recovery was horrible. Now I have to wait for my monies that were paid out is my pocket in this deal because the team failed to proactively take care of this issue . I did the full purchase on March 13th given them 4 days to have realized this error and damage which was not disclosed during signing . I left Mercedes to Audi so to me Porsche should be top notch . Garage dealership. Garage management. Service department is the worst and the general manager is retaliatory if you have anything critical to say. Exact words per their email to me, "it does appear that based on your... response to the Porsche survey... we aren't the right dealership for you." I'm still being punished for an honest response to a survey they requested that I left possibly over a year ago. They will no longer service my car that I leased from them. I tried to make amends with Quinn (their GM) and reboot my relationship with the dealership, but Quinn told me in no uncertain terms to take my business elsewhere. There you have it. Stopped by with a friend today to have her test drive a Macan and compare to Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, and Range Rover. Sales staff was busy but was able to help us. No pressure and quickly showed us what they had and set up a test drive for us. Very appreciative of how easy they made it. I have not purchased from Porsche Bethesda but have used their service a few times for my Panamera Turbo. Alex in service has always treated me well. They worked issues through my warranty making things easier for me. The one time I picked my car up and noticed a ding in the door they were quick to take responsibility and fix it. I typically don't buy new and if I am looking for something specific I have other places I will go first (see my reviews for more information). I went to this establishment only because I was out wandering and killing time before my 5:00 reservation at Fogo De Chão but I have to say: if I were to ever buy a Porsche or any car of the sort, I'd definitely come here. Usually, when you go into any upscale luxury store/dealership, you're greeted by an employee with a "holier-than-thou" attitude who basically looks at you sideways if you don't *look* the part of an upper echelon consumer, at least that's what I was expecting... However, that was *not* what I got. I was greeted within two seconds upon entering the sales floor by people asking me if I needed anything, offering me water, and assuring me that the workers weren't absolute pricks that judge your financial status and worthiness based on how you dress/look. After looking at the decent selection of the cars in the salesfloor, I then found myself in the used car lot, and man... when I say that the used car lot was something to write home about, I mean it, as I'm doing it right now. They had something for everyone's tastes, budgets, and driving style. They had everything from used Acuras, Volvos, and Subarus to super exotic cars like older Porsches (obviously) and even more upscale options. But, the thing that really caught my eye,,, was the 392 Jeep Rubicon they had for sale in the used lot. Not everyone would let a 20-year-old drive off in a Jeep with that much power for a test drive. But the advisors at the dealership did and that made me the happiest girl ever, you know, considering it's my dream car and all. But what made me happier than the Jeep was the treatment that I was getting from the dealers. They made me feel the same as everyone else that came through those doors; Porsche owner/potential buyer or not. This was the only true upscale car dealership that I had ever been to that didn't raise their noses at me and judged me solely on the way I looked. Following-up on my previous review... to summarize: sometimes, you don't know what you've got until it's gone :) After being a former PoB customer (for Sales and Service) of five years, I decided to sell that car for a non-Porsche supercar. I loved that car, but obviously needed to service it elsewhere, at a well-known local supercar dealership that turned out to be awful. Despite regularly catering to clientele who buy cars at well over $250k on the low end, that unnamed dealership had a service department that misdiagnosed my car as having $10k worth of issues (that it didn't), missed other problems entirely ($15k worth of ACTUAL issues), and all of the above would routinely cost you way more than it was worth. On top of all that, if you weren't a "VIP", you could expect absolutely minimal amenities (no snacks/drinks and no loaner vehicles, though they do provide an Uber credit to get you to/from wherever you want to go). Even if you were a VIP, you got the impression that the mechanics were clueless, and the service advisors had no motivation or reason to improve anything. Coming back to PoB a short three years later was a NIGHT AND DAY difference. This dealership was great before, but I believe it is even better now: - Louis Pradel was my service advisor, and he is exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and hospitable, going out of his way to make sure customers have an excellent experience. - Quinn Boroughs, the GM, is also incredibly kind and friendly. - The facility itself is also wonderful - centrally located in Pike and Rose, reasonable pricing on everything, refreshments, and plenty of comfortable seating and space to get work done while you wait on your car. - Overall, top notch. I recently purchased a vehicle from Porsche Bethesda, and the experience was so positive that I felt compelled to write this review. I worked with Dexter and Quinn to order the car. Dexter was very knowledgeable and guided me through the entire process. He also kept me abreast of the status of the delivery and kept in touch to check in. Unlike other dealers asking for a ridiculous deposit, Dexter was very reasonable and flexible around payment options. Once the car arrived, the transaction was effortless and enjoyable. However, because I was in a rush, I didn't have time to stick around and get the car tour. Dexter came out to my house at my convenience to show me around the car, programmed my garage door for me, and set my settings on the vehicle. I had such an amazing experience at Porsche Bethesda. I got a flat tire and had to have my car towed there on a rainy Saturday afternoon. After waiting three hours for a tow truck, the reps at PB we're a breath of fresh air. They were super understanding and although they were closing, and not open on Sunday for service, they fixed my flat tire. Literally, they repaired the tire on Sunday and a manager came in just so that I could be processed out. Cindy was also amazing and so thoughtful. I've been to a few Porsche dealerships in the area, and this is by far the best. read more

Staff needs more professional training. The showroom atmosphere seems unpleasant and it makes you don't want to go back again.

Recently purchased my CPO Panamera from here. I have purchased many vehicles over the years and this was amongst my best buying experiences. I was out of state when I first saw the vehicle so I initially was texting and emailing with Brian Matos. He was courteous, professional and easy to work with. We agreed to a price and I took the train down there to pick up a few days later. Brian was out of state when I arrived,, but car was ready to go and looked great. Paperwork was ready and they did not try pushing extended warranty, fabric protection or any other nonsense. They gave me a walk through of the cars features, paired my phone and off I went. Car drives great. Upon getting home I realized e-charger was missing and it was not filled with fuel as it should have been. I mentioned this to Bryan and, without hesitation, he promptly arranged to have a new charger shipped out along with a check for the fuel. Great experience, nice dealership, excellent sales rep.
