Messy work, unprofessional staff. Sub par experience.
The first time I visited Porsche Clifton Park, they redid my trans. Not knowing how long the repair would take, they immediately told me they had no courtesy vehicle for me, nor did they attempt to work out a time slot within the weeks of having my car, to lend me a loaner.
Additionally, they left a long string of adhesive on the driver's side door. Thankfully, I was able to get it off.
The second time I brought my car in was for a 50k mi service. When I called to make the appt. and asked if there would be a service vehicle to borrow, they told me there would be. But when I brought the car in at 8a, (I was the first appt. of the day on a Monday) the rep evasively said he'd "see if there were any available" and then waited 15 min before the appt. was over to tell me they had something. I wonder long it takes one to figure out how many loaners you've got on the lot?
After we left the lot and were 10 minutes away, I receive a call asking me if I'd turn around because they'd left their scanner in the car. Come to realize they hadn't actually concluded the service.
Something else to note which was interesting to me was, while I was on the books for a scheduled 50k mi. service, and had checked in for a 50k mi. service, the rep came in to tell me I needed a 40k mi service and that it'd cost around $2,000. I had gotten a service at 40k back in June at Porsche BK and for that I paid around $750. I'd say as a service center it'd be imperative to get your info straight so you're not overcharging your customers.
When I informed him, he told me he has zero access to other service centers work on my profile and basically "whoops"...
Someone contacted me to ask how my experience was over the phone, she said the manager would definitely want to be in touch, I never heard from him, so I called him myself. He was, in fact, able to look up all of my previous service history, regardless of the location. Also, they left a pen mark on my driver's side door and when I told Jacob, the manager, he made no attempt to offer to take it off.
As I've been long winded in this review and I believe I've given a good summation of my poor experiences, I'll just touch on the situation I had replacing the transmission with my full coverage mechanical failure warrantee and being told by Nick, a service agent, that I owe an extra $3k out of pocket. So after asking for an itemized list of these mysterious extra charges, I never heard about the $3k again, nor did I hear from Nick. When I brought this up to Jacob on the phone, he told me that "because I saw your California plates and knew you were new to the area, I wanted to warmly welcome you to our dealership and for you to have a good experience with us..." If this is actually true, this would be the first time a car dealership, a luxury one at that, has ever gifted a high spender who is able to purchase a $100k vehicle $3,000 out of the goodness of their heart. But unfortunately, this does not happen, especially when I had to pay $0 and absolutely everything was covered by the insurance company.
