This seems to be one of the more developed parts of the island with a pristine pool, great marina views, clean campground and popular pub-style restaurant. Campground: midweek in late June, it was not busy here - though that would likely change over the summer. There was a large grassy space for tents, a few flat hookups for RVs and several glamping style yurt/cabins. Not your typical Canadian campground between access to a pool AND pub - but very cute spot nonetheless. Pub: we sat on the patio. Tables were well spaced out and even though this was busy by island standards it was quite a peaceful meal. Burgers were popular with our family and there were several options on the menu. 'Brioche' bun description seemed a slight stretch (pretty sure these were typical grocery store burger buns toasted for freshness). Dressings were fresh and generally well cooked. There was also an impressive drinks menu including a few locally made items like Two island cider - an extra dry cider with hints of rhubarb. We glimpsed a swallows nest in the roof of the patio with several little babies poking little beaks out. Definitely a nice place to spend an evening.

Great service and really fun place to got to when you are on vacation my favourite meal is the Pender Bender

Kevin Bacon is a sweet little pig eating grass outside the pub with her owners. She is sooo tiny!

The patio is open and the jugs of Pilsner go down easily with the view of the marina, kayaks, paddle boards and even Kevin Bacon the mascot mini-pig! We tried this sunny little spot for the first time after a long hike last Friday on the May long weekend. Our server Lisa was absolutely fabulous sharing her favourite dishes as well as giving us the low down on things to in the area. She was helpful and efficient bringing drinks and food. The WINTER KALE CAESAR is delicious with baby kale, pancetta, fried capers, parmesan and croutons with a creamy house made garlic dressing, the FUNGUY PIZZA has a creamy Bechamel sauce with two cheeses (Mozzarella and Edam) wild mushrooms, truffle oil (to die for)! Too big for me to eat by myself so there was lots for breakfast the next morning. My friend had the special CHICKEN BACON CHEESE BURGER which he said was juicy and savoury and my other friends had the Mulligatawny Soup of the day with sandwiches. Everyone was ready for a food coma by the end because we even had the BERRY CRUMBLE WITH ICE CREAM...HOME MADE FROM SCRATCH! Need I say more. Just go have one with four spoons!

Great food, service and view! The salmon tacos were amazing. Drinks are reasonably priced too.

Amazingly high quality tasty food and fresh beer in this small island marina pub. If you are nearby, don't miss it.

We can't really recommend eating at the Poets Cove Resort's 2 restaurants. Despite our server…read moresaying the food is "awesome," the food is only okay. The AURORA restaurant on site is only open for breakfast. The SYRENS restaurant located downstairs is open from 12 noon to 8:30 p.m. for lunch and dinner. We didn't try Aurora. There are only a few tables at the restaurant. Likely because it is not that popular. As for Syrens, we went only once and that was it for us. We tried the Saltspring Island mussels dish and the seafood chowder. The white broth in each did not have a ton of flavor. The people sitting behind us said the fish and chips are good. Instead of eating either at Aurora or Syrens, we would recommend staying at one of the cottages situated on the resort's property as each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and a barbecue. Bring and prepare one's own food. Particularly as there is a definite shortage of good food options on the island. As we were staying in one of the resort's hotel rooms in the main building, we preferred driving to the Copper Otter Bar & Grill to eat. The Copper Otter is located at the small shopping center on Pender Island. The Copper Otter Bar & Grill, on the days we went, was really busy for lunch and for dinner. Seems to be the place to eat at on the island. Next door to the Copper Otter is The Vanilla Leaf Bakery Cafe which was busy for coffee and pastries.

We really enjoyed our drinks, appetizers and soup. Dinner was pretty good but what really.stood…read moreout is the staff, our waiter really went out of his way to make this a great experience. Shout out to our waiter Sebastian.

The atmosphere is a mix of traditional pub interior, outdoor patio, and lawn seating. Our server was friendly and attentive, and she was clearly hustling to keep up with the crowd arriving on the pub bus. Unfortunately, when it's the only place open after 630 p.m., it benefits from having something of a captive audience. The pork belly special was deep-fried, dry, and not worth the price. I enjoyed the vegetables and mashed potatoes more than the pork itself. The fish and chips also had considerably more batter than fish. The beer, however, was good. We ultimately decided we wouldn't return if we had another option. Good luck!

We kept our order simple because our server warned us that the kitchen was backed up (it was busy). We ordered: --small house salad with chicken and bacon --pulled pork sandwich --side of Parmesan fries with garlic aioli It was tasty, pub food and just what we had hoped for. But the service sang--the team was cohesive and collaborative, which meant we got everything we asked for. It felt great to be here. We'll return--now that we know how fun the bus ride is, we are definitely looking forward to more.

The downstairs lounge is 21+ but offers ample seating and a great view of the water. We were able to find a table for 6 people. The menu is limited in the lounge, but decent. I told the waitress and she said "no, the kitchen temps everything". Me. Um .....NO they don't .....but you keep on believing that. The second time I ordered something it was the pot pie. The filling had ZERO flavor and tasted like it came out of a can. This week? I thought. SIGH....ok. I'll try again. I ordered the chicken wings. Now. This is probably personal preference. But, I tore off the skin trying to get away from that weird sauce. It was so sweet! Think I ate two naked pieces of chicken and called it. That all said? The restaurant is right on the water so the views are great. The staff is kind and VERY attentive. Can't say I won't try again. Maybe next time I'd try the wings without sauce. Or! I'd like to try their Irish egg rolls :)
