I shopped at this location last week. Customer service was ok, drinks were great and the line was quick.

Went in twice this morning, both times they sit my coffee and sandwich on the counter and didn't say anything word, why ask my name if you can't call it when the food is ready, and they are rude asl....never again!!! read more

Saturday morning coffee, charging of phones and laptop, and a little bit of free time to write up a Yelp review or two. The dining area has a half dozen tables with two and four chairs plus some club chairs in the corners. The coffee bar is fully stocked with different caffeine options and many different sweeteners and syrups. Wifi worked well and the crew was working hard today. The chairs in the dining make a LOT of noise when scraped on the floor. I'm thinking there's not much that can be done about that. Love the veggie build on Asiago bagel toasted (when made hot and correct!). A few times they were very busy and missed a couple of steps. I loved the matcha and chai lattes. I like the general iced coffee. It's a go to for us now. My son said they have great scones too. Very friendly. The only odd thing is when paying credit cards then asking you how much to apply for tip lol you feel dumb to say no do you feel put in spot. Let the customer say what they want to tip on their own. That was strange to us but maybe it's something local. We tip in cash always so we were just taken back by it. ****UPDATE: so now the last couple of days they stopped asking and putting you on the spot. The now hand you the tip card reader saying please complete this haha... it says 'add tip and the starting amount is 15% lol...Meanwhile 3 times in a row the food was made wrong lol. Next time I'm going to just say I'll give you cash after I get my order. Come on guys. Just put a tip jar out with a sign or two with a cute way to vote daily on topics and people put their money in for the selection they choose. There are ways to do this with couth. Smh read more

I am not a coffee drinker but I picked up a coffee for a Co worker here because she loves the taste of it from this location. I was very pleased with the customer service by both the drive thru attendant taking the order and the girl at the window. The menu looked fantastic and the place is in a great location. read more

The manager is awesome but the staff members are not so great every experience is bad everything I ordered they were out of when I got to the window to pay for what I did order I told the lady I had to show my face in order to use Apple Pay she slammed the window in my face and when she reopened the window to give me my things she only gave me half when I asked where the rest of it was she said she didn't ring it up after she recited everything back to me via speaker the lady at the window was very rude pick a different profession if you don't like the one you have. read more

I love coming here for breakfast. I always order a dirty chai and it always tastes the same which is nice compared to places like starbucks where I feel like my order always tastes different. I've tried the bagels, muffins, waffles, and wraps and all are amazing. I come here probably once a week and will continue to! read more

COVID era review. We stopped here for cool drinks after a nice walk downtown. When my mom rolled up at the window with her mask on to collect the drinks, the very sweet worker announced that PCJ is giving folks wearing masks a discount. It was a sweet gesture that made our day (our household is full of public health fans). Thank you to these workers! The drinks - a latte, a mocha shake, and an iced mochaccino - are our reg orders and were delicious. read more

This location definitely has the rudest staff. Their microphone barely works in the drive thru, and when they mishear you, they get a total attitude about it. Basically this time I was told, after waiting 15 minutes in the drive thru, that any change to my order would take another 7-10 minutes, as one of the workers in the background was literally cursing about it. The worker at the drive thru, Tania, had zero customer service skills and was extremely passive about me wanting my order the CORRECT way. This isn't the first time I've dealt with rude staff at this location, but surely will be the last. Maybe the other locations need to come train this staff of decent human manners. read more

This place needs to make improvements made for this business because some of the conversations are very unprofessional rude and very disrespectful I was on my way to class I stopped in here what to ask for a glass of water and they said no the only way that I would be able to get that I had to order something. I feel like I have been profiled because of this and it's pure humiliation over a glass of water I find it to be very sexist and very racist. Consistently good product, regardless of location and this one is near New Hanover Regional Medical Center and a handy place to pick up coffee and a breakfast sandwich before heading to the Waiting Rooms at the hospital. It's a bit of a squeeze getting around the building but once at the window the service is speedy and courteous. This particular one is situated in conjunction with a Quizno's in case you're there later than breakfast; all in all, better than drive-through fast food chain coffee and the folks are friendly as can be. read more

This is the worst for city Java location. I go in and order the same thing every morning for the past week. Two fresh drips one with white chocolate both with nine raw sugars and cream and whip. Why does it take five minutes to fix those two. The drive-through is taking several cars and no one in lobby...Then when I do receive a coffee its Luke warm I will never go to this location I literally will have to travel across town! And again 5 mins for barley hot coffee back to dunking I go!!!!! read more

One of my favorite locations. Its a great spot to get some work done outside of the office while enjoying a fresh cup of dark roast.

So I typically order the same thing every time, iced americano with hazelnut, cream, and extra ice. Today, I ordered just that. Now, I understand when there's 3 cars in line I'm not going to be in and out. I sat in line for about 5 mins before I could order which is perfectly fine. I pull up, am greeted, and I place my order. Then I'm asked to repeat, which I do and then they said I'll see you at the window. Get up to the window and pay. Now I sat in this drive thru for a total of 20 mins, I know because I kept checking the time because I was on my way to work. When the barista went to hand me my drink I noticed it had no creamer in it so I told her it was supposed to have it. She scoffed, rolled her eyes, and looked at the cup that said CR on it so I know the order taker took it right. Then it took her about 2 mins to dump a little out and add cream. I'm usually the type to let things roll off my shoulders because I worked in food for 8 years but sometimes I just get fed up with how staff treat customers. Usually my experience is great here when I get a different barista and we have small talk but today was not a good experience. read more

I used to love this location but these past 2 months have been terrible. The iced drinks have very little ice, the bakery case is near empty no matter when I go. They always seem to be out of something! The manager with the blond hair is constantly rushing her employees so much so that even I felt like I was at work! I heard the same manager on a different day/occasion actually speak very ugly to one of the employees practically putting that poor girl in tears. There are ways to speak to someone and a time and place. Reprimanding an employee in front of a customer is not the appropriate time! I know I do not have to lecture PCJ on customer service but someone needs to step in here. It was awkward to experience that. Numbers are important but so is quality of service. Is there a designated person to take drive thru orders? I'm not a huge fan of management stopping me mid-sentence while they are taking my order to take someone else's order in their headset. Which one takes precedence? I should not even have to point this out. I miss the days when I walked in and everyone was so cheerful and happy! They took a few moments to talk to you while taking your order. The atmosphere now is so cold. There are so many new faces. There are no longer greetings when you come to the counter. The employees look miserable. What happened to my favorite little coffee shop?! Is this location closing or is this the result of poor management? I am not returning to this location. read more
