Stopped here for a sweet treat while my hubby was having an outpatient surgery and I was trying to waste some wait time. I was welcomed in promptly by some kiddos who were working on their schoolwork, not sure if they were homeschooled or what. I ordered the grits, eggs, cheese, and bacon which was edible but not what I was hoping for, maybe because it was no longer breakfast hours? The display case was empty so I asked the gentleman working what kind of croissants they had and he said any donut flavor you can think of, so I ordered the maple bacon which were DELICIOUS!! I think the biggest miss for me was the business seemed like it had lost its identity and was just a place to throw equipment and furniture. When I walked in I almost turned around and walked out because the lights were off, the displays were empty, and the decor was chaotic, almost like they had given up. I cannot say enough about how amazing the stuffed croissants are at Sweet D's! I was having the absolute worst day, and a friend reminded me that the croissants would make everything better. She wasn't wrong! We ordered the caramel apple, the vanilla iced, strawberry, peanut butter cheesecake, smores, caramel pecan, apple, raspberry, lemon, and peach to share. While we were waiting, we even made some new friends who were new in town and had heard of the amazingness here. Felt the croissants were really small for 1.50 each, but much worse than that, realized once we left and looked at our receipt that were were way, way overcharged for 2 slices of cake we purchased! Menu board clearly states that cake slices are three dollars each; we were charged $5 per!!! So yeah, they literally ripped us off for 4 extra bucks! Not the biggest of deals as that 4 dollars isn't going to change my lifestyle or keep me from paying my bills, but yeah, who wants to go for sweet treats and then pay nearly twice what the menu board states? Not me. Please see my pics for the accuracy of what I'm purporting. Yelp exists in part, for exactly things like this, so future customers can be aware. As far as the croissants, they were fine, but nothing extraordinary or special. They basically just taste like a glazed donut to me. My slice of carrot cake I'd give a B+, definitely better than the croissants. Saying that was it worth five dollars? No way. 3 dollars, yes, I'd be a buyer. A co-worker brought Sweet D's specialty croissants in and I've been hooked since! I went in for the first time the other day and was greeted immediately. The store is very welcoming and clean as well as their bakery case is filled with all kinds of goodies. Arrived as their first customer on their opening day. It's located two doors down from Wheelz pizza and their parking lot is right before S&L deli. There are two benches outside but no tables. There are a few tables inside for seating. Right after you walk in, there is a bottle of hand sanitizer. It took a while to place my order because they had kinks in their POS system. Eventually they wrote down my order. Unfortunately, when I received my croissants, the order was not right. Not sure how you can get it completely wrong when it was written on a piece of paper. It is their first day so hopefully it will get better over time. I ordered a dozen croissants with a mixture of filled, specialty, and coated and was charged the specialty dozen price ($14.99). Received chocolate-filled, apple-filled, strawberry-filled, cream, cinnamon powder, regular glazed, maple glazed, key lime. The croissant dough itself was good-flaky and chewy. My favorite croissants were the maple glazed and regular glazed. I wasn't impressed with the quality of the chocolate filled. They had a small card flyer at the cashier that says if you present this flyer, you get a free croissant (glazed). Also tried a brownie ($3), which is overpriced for the quality. It wasn't fudgy. Tasted like a brownie made from a boxed cake mix. There's a choice of either plain or with walnuts. There were other desserts such as vanilla cupcakes, macaroons, pies (mini pecan or sweet potato coconut), milkshakes, and Chuck's ice cream. Beverages included coffee, frappe, tea (not available during my visit), milkshakes (strawberry or mango). Got a small (12oz) light roast coffee ($2.50), which was decent. Disappointing they didn't have actual real milk, creamer or half and half. There were only packets of French vanilla or hazelnut creamers. They have a loyalty card but it was not available during my visit. This place is worth checking out if you're craving a sweet croissant treat, but make sure you double check your order if you order a dozen. read more

Oh my God! A filled crossaint! I got a dozen. They are light and flaky. I got lemon, strawberry cream cheese and a bunch of plain. They were still warm! I did an online order and went in to pick up a dozen croissants today. The store is being remodeled I believe. There was a sign up saying something about that... considering they're remodeling the store was still organized and clean. I ordered a cupcake too and when ordered online it doesn't give you the option to choose a flavor so I picked one when I got there. I wanted chocolate but they had red velvet instead. I wasn't a huge fan of it personally and the cupcakes are super small for being almost $3 each. The croissants were so fresh and have a little crunch to them which I love but they were a little too sweet for me. The texture and freshness was immaculate though. The croissants are a pretty good size too! Overall it was alright but I think I'm going to stick with Burney's Sweets & More. read more

Small family bakery and breakfast establishment. They have half a dozen tables if you want to eat in. Counter service. Their breakfast bowls are customizable and very good. My wife is a big fan of their oatmeal. They have several kinds of cake available by the slice as well as filled croissants and cinnamon rolls. My wife wants me to emphasize the cakes. The staff is very friendly (frankly, they're all just the nicest folks in a town full of nice people) and helpful. They were hard as a rock, even when we warm them then we got a doughnut that was iced with chocolate icing. Well, it wasn't from Krispy Kreme. I'll tell you that it was dry and hard. Then I picked a maple and bacon topped croissant and a regular croissant without bacon that they forgot to put in the box and the one with bacon was little chunks of raw bacon hardly nothing inside $17 and it was it was just terrible. I don't know what the secret is. I went pretty early so I don't know, but I don't think I'll be going back. The two men that were there one took the order one took these things in the back to fill them or take care of them and they were both very very nice but the just desserts croissants and donut and cinnamon roll were absolutely terrible. I know I should've taken them back cause I know they would've replaced them, but we just went ahead and had to drop them in the trash. It was over the snowy weekend so we missed out but this way it goes. I should've called them at least I'm sure they would've said that you know to come out come back and they would replace them or something, but I was so anxious to get them because the one I tried was so good and I was just so disappointed. This place is amazing. My wife and I had the Italian Cake and we were both astonished at just how moist, flavorful and not overbearingly sweet it was. I definitely recommend giving them a try. The variety so tempting that I will be trying other fillings very soon. I wish I could give 0 stars. 2 weeks ago I ordered 3 dozen filled croissants for pick up with their online ordering. I looked on their site it said they were open 7-7 and on maps 7-5. My order said it would be ready in about 15 minutes so after a half hr I went to pick it up and they were closed. Okay that sucks I get it but the kicker is I called multiple times the next day and emailed with the owner to get my $60 back. They shouldn't have online ordering open and taking payments if they are not open! It's now been 2 weeks and still no refund and I've emailed the owner again with no response. What a yummy place! We had our Valentine's dinner and wanted a dessert. The restaurant's options were not that exciting, so we searched yelp for options and found Sweet D's. Even though we were there just before closing, the owner welcomed us in. Two others came in after us and he could not have been nicer. When he realized we had never been there before, he brought us a fresh, warm croissant. If you ever had a hot Krispy Kreme, you'll find this even more comforting. Lots of options too; from stuffed croissants, doughnuts, cronuts (croissant and doughnut combo), cakes, cupcakes, and so much more. Very clean too. We will definitely be back. read more

Lost a customer because of a greedy owner. Last week I ordered special cupcakes online for my mother's birthday. Now, when ordering I forgot to set the pickup for the next day which meant it automatically sets the default to the time you make the order.Which made it April 30 at 5:30pm, and I meant to select May 1st. I promptly called and described my situation and set the right time and day. The woman on the phone repeated back the order and said it will be ready by 4pm May 1st and we'll call you if it's ready earlier. Crisis adverted, right? Nope! The next day I received no phone call. I thought, ok, they're busy. So I went to the bakery after 4pm. And the employee (not the employee I spoke to over the phone) working didn't have an order for me. She did find the order # but she said that it read the order was for April 30th not May 1st for 4pm. And she thought they were already made and went out as her shift started after 4pm. I was so disappointed that I couldn't show up at my mom's house that day with her favorite cupcakes that I special ordered. I also could not show up empty handed. It was too late to go to another local bakery. Also, they did not have any comparable cupcakes or any other bakery items. The wonderful customer oriented employee offered me to make the cupcakes for Mother's Day and so I wouldn't show up empty handed for my mom's birthday she gave me a couple of lemon cake slices on the house. The cake wasn't the same but it was solution that worked especially since my mom was getting her cupcakes for Mother's Day, the following week. All good, right? Nope! Now, the Saturday before Mother's Day. The employee had to call me and left an apologetic voicemail stating that she had over stepped her bounds giving me the slices of cakes on the house . The owner stated the slices of cakes were comparable to the cupcakes and in-turn if I still want the cupcakes I would have pay for them again. So to sum this all up. Because an employee failed to write down the correct day and time after I called to correct the online order. I didn't get the cupcakes that I paid for. Then another apologetic employee knowing it was on them and that the cupcakes were for a special occasion gave me a couple slices of cakes on the house to make up for it. And I can pick up the special ordered cupcakes for Mother's Day. Then the owner said no and the employee had to call me the day before Mother's Day saying I couldn't get my cupcakes and if I wanted them I would have to make another order and pay for them again. Now did I want those cakes that were offered to me? No. I would have order them it that was the case. Not only did the owner not back up his employee, They made said employee call me and say sorry now you're going to have to pay for those cupcakes that you originally ordered, again. No I will not make an additional order and pay for something that I already paid for. I am here for supporting local businesses and strive too at any chance I have. However, I will not support a local business that doesn't understand customer service and repeat business. I will not support a local business that does not support their employees either. If this owner treats their employees this way it's no wonder they would treat their customers horrible as well. I give this establishment a one star rating only because of the wonderful employee who tried to fix the situation and do the right thing. Otherwise no stars. To the employee that tried to the right thing - work somewhere else. You have too much talent to be treated that way. read more
