We engaged Fiddleheads to cater a birthday party for my husband and couldn't have been happier…read more Lisa, the owner/chef, came early and stayed late; jumping right into the kitchen and taking charge. With a few brief instructions on timing and where our serving pieces were I was completely free to concentrate on our guests and enjoy myself. She inspired confidence from the start and followed through. Her sense of timing and service was great--she kept the buffet table well supplied as people came back for seconds & thirds and she was engaging and friendly throughout. Now to the food--in a word, FABULOUS. All vegetarian; healthy, fresh, delicious & beautifully presented; her specialty. We started off with a wonderful Cheese Platter that was accompanied with dried figs, maple tamari glazed nuts, buckwheat chees straws and fresh fruit. Later, on the buffet table, we had Rustic Pizza Bites with goat cheese, butternut squash, camelized onions & fried sage, Sweet Pea Dumpings with Mint dipping sauce, Corn & Black Bean Cakes topped with a dollop of Guacamole, Vegetable Spring Rolls with a Thai Almond dipping sauce, and the best warm Artichoke Parmesean Dip EVER (so light & delicious, not heavy & greasy like the ususal). Everyone is still talking about the food. Even my meat and potaotes brother was happy! It was a filling yet light meal and so different from the usual buffet fare. I'd purchased a birthday cake and when it came time for that, Lisa jumped right in and took charge of cutting and serving. Her energy was boundless and I was left with a clean kitchen and leftovers that were placed in my fridge in well marked, tidily prepared containers....for a few days we happily ate that lovely party food and had fond memories of the day. I will definitely be doing business with Fiddleheads again. Check her out.

Fiddleheads Cuisine catered my wedding, in Concord, Vermont. The menu, which I'll include below)…read morewas tailored to our specifications and accommodated our many vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and omnivorous guests. Working with Lisa was comfortable and easy. She responded promptly to emails and phone calls. Though we repeatedly changed our menu, and increased the guest count, Lisa never once declined a requested change. Since we had no official wedding coordinator for our small affair (40 guests), Lisa wisely requested that we provide her with a point-person who could answer any questions during meal preparation. My aunt served in this role, and said that Lisa was very pleasant and easy to work with. The food reviews by all of our guests were overwhelmingly positive. Many people said is was the best wedding dinner they had ever had (that was certainly true for my wife and me). Considering that the guests comprised a large range of dining preferences and dietary restrictions, the positive reviews are that much more impressive. Despite the small size of our wedding, Lisa and her helper were never intrusive. In fact, had she not found my wife and I to complement us and say farewell, I hardly would have known she was present. I would highly recommend Fiddleheads Cuisine for any small event requiring catering. Also, based on my experience, I suspect that the community-supported kitchen service, cooking classes, and in-home cooking service provided by Fiddleheads are all equally meritorious and excellent. Here is the menu Fiddleheads prepared for our wedding: Appetizers -- Corn Scallion Fritters topped with Cilantro Almond Aioli (v/gf) -- Sweet Pea Dumplings stuffed with Herbed Cashew Cheese with Zesty Mint Dipping Sauce (v) Vegetable Sides -- Wild Rice Salad with Sweet Peas, Watermelon Radish, Tamari Toasted Almonds and Chives in a Zesty Ginger Dressing (v/gf) Entrées -- Eggplant Rollatinis with a Cashew Pesto Filling and Sundried Tomato Sauce (v/gf- not tree nut free) -- Chicken Marbella braised Browned Chicken served with a Sweet Caper-red Wine Sauce (gf) -- Vegetable Neopolitan stacked high with garlicky smashed cannelloni beans, grilled portabella, roasted red pepper and fresh basil drizzle served over herbed quinoa (gf/v)

Unfortunately, this is not an item on Flatbread's menu (dated 6/7/2021). They do however offer a Riverside Farm Cider Donut Sundae for $7.75. Instead of some donuts I recieved a donut sundae without ice cream and maple infused whipped cream. That's right, I got a single donut in a pint sized container. With tax and tip, I paid over $7 for a donut that was just ok. I emailed Elizabeth at TOG the next day. Mistakes happen. I get that. So I asked her to make it right. She never responded (I waited one week before posting this. ). There are some other issues too. When I placed the order the confirmation indicated that it would be delivered in between 1 hour 20 to 1 hour 50. That's crazy for a Tuesday night this sounded crazy so I called Flatbread to cancel and order a take out but I was too late. It was delivered in roughly 1 hour 15. That's ok for a Saturday night but a bit surprising mid-week. In addition, they require a minimum tip of 20%. It is automatically added to the check. I have no problem tipping and I tip well. But I resent being told that it is mandatory and automatic. That's not a tip, it's a fee. Finally, their website says that the prices are set by the restaurants. False. They sometimes add a buck to an item. Go check it out yourself. I won't be using TOG again. There is simply no need. Uber, Doordash, Toast, and GrubHub go to most of the same places, and dozens more. We've haven't had a problem yet and I've never felt as though I got conned out of a few bucks.

TC's Pantry Located…read morein Downtown Claremont, TC's Pantry is a scratch kitchen which serves up a variety of homestyle meals and comfort foods, made to order hot or grab & go (heat & serve) options from the cooler. They offer pot pies (chicken and beef, gluten free options), vegetable pot pies, lasagna, mac & cheese, fruit pies, buffalo chicken bites, soups, chowders, yogurt parfaits, and daily specials (chicken marsala, haddock, sticky chicken, pork chops, cajun chicken & sausage). Their current hours (winter 2024) are limited to Wednesday - Friday from 11am to 5:30pm. Recently, I decided to give TC's Pantry a try for online takeout, which is offered through the Toast platform. I was already passing through Claremont after work. I ordered a hot Small Chicken Pot Pie ($10.99 plus tax) and a Lemon Garlic Pan Haddock Dinner ($13.99 plus tax). My bagged order was all set to go when I arrived just after 5 pm. I enjoyed my hot dinner back in the vehicle. The chicken pot pie was very hot, which had thick flaky crust filled with plenty of white meat chicken, vegetables in a zesty cream sauce. The filling was generous and dense and one of the best chicken pot pies I've had. The grilled haddock had a firm texture & seasoned nicely with steamed zucchini & squash and soft white rice. The portion was just right and this haddock meal was simple and pretty good. I will definitely keep an eye out for any interesting specials offered here and I will be getting another chicken pot pie too!

Growing up in Meredith, Matthew pours his heart into every pizza, using Italian-imported tomatoes, non-GMO dough, and homemade sauces that bring authentic Italian flavors to town. We tried two pies on our visit: Steak and Cheese -- Alfredo sauce, Philly shaved steak, caramelized onions, green peppers, and fresh mozzarella. Creamy and savory with every bite! Pepperoni, Ricotta & Hot Honey -- Cup & char pepperoni, ricotta, hot honey, fresh mozzarella, and homemade sauce. This one was our favorite! The sweet drizzle of hot honey paired with the crispy pepperoni and creamy ricotta was chef's kiss ‍. Absolutely delicious and super flavorful! The sauce itself is on the sweeter side -- personally, I love a crispier base, but that's just my preference! Matthew is even working on a sourdough recipe , and I'm excited to come back and try it once it's ready! Overall: 7/10 Great quality ingredients, hometown heart, and a cozy local vibe. If you love a doughier, sweeter pizza crust, you'll be in heaven! Can't wait to see how the sourdough evolves and to try more flavors in the future!

They specialize in *everything sourdough*, and it shows. The pizza was so delicious. I ordered the Hawaiian and my husband built his own with white sauce with greens and Italian sausage. Both were so flavorful, perfectly balanced, and baked to that ideal sourdough crisp-chewy combo. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. But here's the real win: it was actually good for my gut. I usually feel heavy or uncomfortable after pizza, but not this time. Their sourdough truly makes a difference: I left satisfied instead of sluggish, which feels like a miracle. We also found out the owner, Karen, used to be a chef in Irvine, CA, and honestly... it makes sense. There's a clear SoCal flair in the ingredients and overall vibe, and I'm so glad she brought that creativity and quality to my hometown. So glad I got to stop by this place. If you appreciate food made with real intention, you must stop by too. I'll be back the next time I travel back to the east coast.

We were able to customize our sourdough pizza, about 14" in size, and let's just say between my wife and her parents (4 people) the pizza was so good, we should have gotten a third. (Some devoured 4 slices). Even after the meal, we didn't feel heavy or bloated, which is a miracle for lactose intolerant people, but fresh ingredients can overcome such things. The store it self is like a farmers market in a hole in the wall store. Highly recommend!
