Finally, we reached a small parking lot in a wooded, grassy area on a hill that overlooked the water. There was a stairway down to the water. The stairway has seen better days and given how slippery it was, a number of us decided to stay on the hill. Some of our group ventured down on the floating dock which was about as wobbly as the stairs. The dock was a nice setting for some beautiful pictures! This is a nice park for a picnic, to eat your lunch in the car, or to have a few minutes of peace to yourself.

You can easily walk to shops on Front street where you'll find pizza, coffee, antiques, art, chocolate, schnitzel and more. A public restroom building in the park was closed during our November visit. The Austin-Kvelstad pavillion is a covered patio that would keep you dry in a drizzle, but is open to the wind. The park sward is intersected by concrete paths, the pavillion and a waterfront boardwalk that extends beyond the bounds of the park along the waterside. The park was busy on a sprinkling November day. Plenty of pups out for a walk with their humans.

My friend and I walked around to enjoy the flowers and take a walk to the beach. I was not fit for the trek down to the beach though, so my friend went and reported it's really beautiful. There were swallows flying at a crazy fast speed and zooming around us. Felt like Snow White. There are bathrooms here that are the standard expected for a park, but the one I was in didn't have a light at all so I'd avoid it after dark.

I met both beginners and high-level players. Got a lot of fun and hilarious matches in. + There's shaded spectator seating, a rare thing I've noticed about pickleball parks. + I like the office toward the back with various amenities.
