We were so lucky to have found this place! They were so kind, patient and helpful on the phone with us, and even though they were closing they agreed to deliver our food to our nearby hotel. Mother in law visited and wanted to go here for pizza. I am not big on their pizza so I ordered an Italian Hero. The price was fair and there was a decent amount of meat. I wish there was some cappicola on it but it was ham and salami. I asked for hot peppers on it and they put on sliced pickled jalapeños which was not the kind of hot peppers I was expecting at all. I hope the owner reads this review. First, the food is delicious and enjoy it thoroughly. The big problem is the constant screwups with the take out service. First time my wife called in the order for two Chicken parm rolls. Come in to pick it up and order is Chicken parm heroes. Had to wait while they remade the order. Second time I came inside and gave the order to the girl behind the counter, asked for a small garden salad. Salad comes out of the kitchen and it consist of rolled ham, cheese and lettuce, no tomatoe, no onion, no cucumber. This is pretty standard pizza - we came in on a pretty snowy Wednesday night, and were the only dine in customers in the place, but there was a decent stream of delivery and walk in traffic while we were there - hot pizza probably sounded good on a cold night. The slices available for sale were looking a little old and congealed, so we opted for a medium pie with pepperoni and green peppers. It was fine - nothing to write home about, but nothing really wrong with it. The medium was plenty for two people. It's game night. The Ohio State Buckeyes are taking on the mighty PAC12 and the Oregon Ducks in the first ever College Football Playoff Game for the National Championship. What is going to make this night better? A night with family and a steak and cheese from Port Jervis Brick Oven Pizza. However tonight turned out to be a huge letdown and I am not talking about the fact that the Ducks are trailing going into the half. After dinner arrived, my cousin unwrapped her steak and cheese sub and tried to take a big bite. Unfortunately she didnt find soft, creamy cheese melted over succulent shaved beef like you would expect to find in any steak and cheese sandwich, what she found was a 4" piece of stainless steel from a kitchen scrubber. Fully expecting the restaurant to do the right thing, I told her to call the manager and explain what was in her sandwich. When she got him on the phone, he was rude, argumentative and over bearing. At first he tried claiming that they get their beef from a vendor and it was their mistake, not his. (Really, you get your beef from a vendor? What restaurant doesnt?) Then he kept talking over her as she was talking. He kept repeating "I dont know what you want me to do". (Again really? You dont know what to do? A customer found a piece of 4" long stainless steel in their food from your restaurant.) Finally he offered to make her another sandwich but refused to issue a refund. HINT: Pay Attention HERE Port Jervis Brick Oven Pizza, I am going to tell you what you should have done. First words out of your mouth should have been "I am sorry, was anyone hurt?" Then you should have offered to refund the check, followed by offering to make something else. This is restaurant 101, its so simple they dont even teach you this in culinary school. Personally, I, nor anyone I know, certainly not my cousin and family will ever be ordering from Port Jervis Brick Oven Pizza again. It was really upsetting to have gone to a Pizza Shop that I have been to various times and not have had issues before. But today was the first time. Not complaining about the food but the service. It's unbelievable to see so many workers behind a counter and I get the one that is not paying attention at all! It was a simple order! Two slices and a bacon ranch slice. To be told I would have to wait for the slices which was not an issue I get it was busy. But she walks away not following up with the slice she put in the oven. Another worker takes out the slice when it was heated up and it's left on the counter. After I see the pie of regular slice come out Im thinking ok she will come back so I can get my order! Nope! She's too busy eyeing some boys and just not paying any attention. Mind you she did see me looking at her! And by the way there were the various other people behind that counter that did not even bother to say are you being helped! Needless to say to control my temper I walked out. I know it's nothing to an owner to loose one customer, but you should be more aware of the people you hire! I have never given a bad review to any business but this was really upsetting! read more

Two different girls messed up and were confused on taking an order for eating in restaurant. It was only pizza, calzone and a burger, seriously. I had to keep asking for our food. Wanted to overcharge me for a deal that was on the board. When child dropped half a burger bun (I know, she wanted a burger), they charged me a dollar for another bun!! I paid over $35 for the order, that is petty. Then, never gave me another item I waited 30 minutes for. Gave it to someone else? Told me it was another 20 minutes, after eating and wanting to leave. Came in for lunch when I was swung to another office for the day. As most of my reviews go, I don't rate solely on food but customer service as well. Food was 4 stars. I had a chicken roll and garlic knots with a fountain soda. The food was standard NY style pizza, I did however enjoy their red sauce. I liked that the knots were dense but not hard, they had the perfect amount of garlic too. The service was terrible. The door was coming unhinged but they guy behind the counter said "We don't have to fix it until the snow comes" ummmm, ok. I have never experienced such inconsistancy. When you try to call and explain what your unhappy about they either appologize or get angry with you for calling. Sometimes they will tell you that they will make good on the problem order but then they "forget" about the issue and do not document it properly, so when you call back they grill you like a criminal trying to steal from them. The food is not that good either, but choices are limited in this small town, and the option is order from Brother Brunos (terrible customer service and 2 hour waits for cold pizza) or go pick your pizza up from Village. I am opting to go to Village pizza in Montague for now on, they are worth the ride. Perfect crusts and flavors are wonderful. read more
