Heather is AMAZING! My dog Shelby, a little Pomeranian mix, absolutely hates having her nails done. She has tried to bite groomers and vets in the past, so I was honestly nervous and kept apologizing in advance for what Heather might be walking into. Heather arrived right on time with a bright smile, professional confidence, and such positive energy. And somehow--she must have some kind of alpha dog magic--Shelby became putty in her hands! Incredibly impressed with Heather like others said. It was just 15-20 min max but she did the impossible- she was able to cut ALL my pup's nails without the drama that we have every time we try! He is only 1.5 years old but he had just one groomer that has made him so adverse to nail cutting that he started trying to bite if we got near his paws for cutting. Since then we tried hit it was a good long many months since he had a good trim so his claws were as pointy as they come! She really did an amazing job and I can tell he won't mind her coming back- it could be she does it in the comfort of his home and out in an open space not a grooming van. I wish I could give Heather more stars! Heather is an absolute rockstar! Kitty is very difficult - she has growths on her paws that make it even harder than it was before she had them. Heather just left our house and I'm absolutely blown away with how great a normally terrible situation is. She held Meowie, was so calming and nice...it was SUCH a different experience than ANY I've had in Meowie's 15.5 years. I can't tell you what a stressful event getting Meowie's nails done are. Heather is the best!! We have two kitties who are not exactly thrilled about the nail trimming process, including a Bengal, but it's no sweat for Heather. She is always on time, friendly and easygoing, and has a great demeanor with the cats. Heather is fantastic! I mistakenly thought that I could buy a dremel and trim my own pups' nails. Wrong. It's tough and requires skill I just don't possess. What I love about Heather and her service is she's professional, quick, and she comes to your house. She also offers pop-up clinics at centrally located pet stores throughout Marin (if you do go to one of these clinics expect a short line because her faithful patrons all regularly attend). We've been clients of portable PETicures for nearly three years and I cannot recommend her enough! The price for her to come to your house may seem a bit spendy but I assure you, it's worth it. She arrives on time and works quickly. She's great with my 95 pound Berner (we usually assist with holding). My pups nails are smooth, short, and clean after Heather's handiwork. Absolutely brilliant idea and even better reality. Heather comes in, takes control of (and doesn't take any shit from) your pet and gets it done. Bottom line: You might not be able to declaw cats anymore but you can certainly mitigate the pain and suffering the claws would otherwise cause by keeping them trimmed. absolutely purrrrrfect! cutting the nails on 2 of my 3 cats is a 2 person job, tho' one person CAN do it if they don't mind losing a little blood and the occasional visit to a plastic surgeon. but with heather, doing all three was a snap! corralling my little 10# alpha cat 'dora' took longer than the clipping - once heather and i cornered her, i just scruffed her; heather cut her claws in roughly one minute, and doing the other two (including dora's 25# scaredy-cat litter-mate 'guy' and her 10# mom, 'velvet)' was easy. i give heather my highest and unreserved recommendation. her expertise means that the process is extremely quick, resulting in far less stress for the cats - and best of all, i didn't bleed a drop! read more

Portable PETicures is my saving grace! Heather is an absolute professional! I have three dogs. Two are not thrilled with nail trimming, but what dog is? Both will stand perfectly still for Heather. My third, which weighs in around 70 lbs is a huge baby. He screams at the sight of nail clippers and good luck trying to catch him if he hears a dremel buzzing! *Hate* would be an understatement. Before finding Heather, my only option for him was sedation. Not only is this very costly, I'm certainly not comfortable with my adolescent pup having to be heavily medicated on a monthly basis. I can't say that he loves Heather....yet. But with a few treats, he has definitely become more trustworthy and will allow her to do her thing.
