Pamela to the rescue! My 16 year old blind lhasa apso is in the last stages of mouth cancer and we are feeling the stress and sadness of letting him go. This is such a great service for older dogs to be in their home environment and not around other dogs at a groomer. Pam jumped into her work providing him a safe space while he had to be shaved down and groomed. She was able to keep both of us calm while quickly getting through some intense matts and a bleeding tumor. Not a pleasant situation but Pamela went above and beyond helping him and working quickly to make sure he felt safe and cared for. She texted and called a half-hour before and was prompt. Just NO and much more stressful for my animals than going all the way in to the Groomer and staying several hours in a decent environment. WAY OVER CHARGES and takes the least time I have ever seen doing a subpar fast job as fast as she can....never seen a groomer act like that ...telling you all the while she is giving you a special deal just for this time....whatever. Pamela has a nice van and she seems to know grooming pretty well, but her business acumen is sorely lacking. She offered us an appt via text, which we accepted, then on the morning of our appt she NO-SHOWED. When we called her to see where she was she casually said, "Oh I must have forgotten to write your name in my book for today." Are you kidding? We are busy folks with our own full schedules. I have used Pam several times to groom both my dogs and I couldn't be happier with her work. My long-haired Doxie gets his usual puppy cut and my 14 year old Aussi cattle mix gets pampered and loved during his de-shedding. Pam is loving, compassionate and BUSY. But she always texts me to confirm the appointment or if there is ever a conflict and. Yes, it is more expensive than PetCo but, she comes to my house so they don't have to go somewhere and sit in a kennel and knows how to groom senior dogs and as such, mine is comfortable and not stressed. Apparently they work as a team on cats so that there are enough hands to manage the process. This is top quality pet grooming with the least amount of stress on your pet. They came in theJoyful Hound van equipped with the full array of grooming necessities _ very very clean and organized work space, on-board electrical generator, interior lighting and ventilation, on-board water tanks and stainless steel wash basin, adjustable grooming table. Literally a pet spa on wheels. Fully professional set-up and groomers. And Poppi was as docile as a lamb when they brought her back into the house in her carrier. I expected her to catapult out of the carrier screeching but she did not even move when Mel opened it. Calmly stroking and soothing Poppi, she showed me the tummy trimming they had done, the ear-cleaning on one ear, and the bathing-drying-combing that restored Poppi to the downy soft and untangled kitty she wanted to be. It was easy to tell Poppi had been in caring hands with Pamela and Mel. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I am very grateful to have their expert and professional services in my area (southern Marin). Poppi plans to call on them again for regular grooming care. My wife and I decided to try the "Mobile Grooming Studio" service for having our dog Cosmo groomed at home by owner/operator Pamela McHale. This service is performed in her specialized dog grooming van. We needed to wait three weeks just for an appointment, which was made by my wife for 12:30PM, earlier this week. For whatever the reason, Ms. McHale tried phoning me earlier that morning but I was out running errands, so missed her call. (She had not previously requested my cell phone number). I returned home about 11:30 and was downstairs working in my office when she arrived around 11:45--which was 45 minutes early for the scheduled 12:30 appointment?!? She apparently knocked on our front door several times which I generally can't hear when I'm in my lower floor office, but for some reason, she never bothered to ring the door bell. However, after a minute or two, Cosmo's barking alerted me that someone may be at the front door, which I then ran upstairs to answer. I greeted Ms. McHale, and immediately noted that she noticeably upset/annoyed--apparently, by first not getting an answer to her unscheduled phone call, and then by having to wait for someone for a minute or two to come to the door. After offering an explanation for her apparent frustration, she abruptly and dismissively exclaimed, "THIS JUST ISN'T GOING TO BE A GOOD FIT," and turned around and LEFT without further explanation or ado! At first, when she turned and walked away, I thought she must be kidding, but soon realized that this total lack of manners and professionalism was for real! I attempted to call her back, but to no avail. After having waited three weeks just to get on her schedule, and then THIS, I was totally shocked by her outlandish behavior. Needless to say, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND MS. McHALE and her Mobile Grooming service TO ANYONE, following her unsavory rudeness and unprofessionalism!! Gary F. read more

She seems very unorganized. There doesnt seem to be any system in place. I waited 2 weeks to have her groom my dog, then when the day finally came. I txt her in the morning asking if she was going to come at the time we set, she said she would be here an hour later. Meanwhile I am waiting for her to show up the whole time. Then finally when the time came that she was supposed to be here, I get a call from her where I expected it to be her saying she was here but then she called to say she had a problem with her generator which obviously can't be helped but she didn't even know who she was calling! She had no clue who's dog she was supposed to be grooming. She started out saying she was going to have to push me out since the generator issues then once she finally figured out who me and my dog were and which place we were at she told me she could do it at all. I even asked her if she could come later that day after she got the generator fixed only to be told that she would have to reschedule. Geez, I have been waiting for this for how long not to mention waiting around all day for you to show up, and then that just it. From the start I had a feeling that this wasnt going to happen because the whole thing didn't seem very professional. There was no real confirmation, just the whole thing seemed very confusing.
