    Maple Honey Iced Specialty Latte

Maple. honey. Latte!!!! If fall needs a staple drink item this would be. I need to try it hot because it was delicious cold! I don't stop into portage grounds as much as I'd like to but every time I stop in it's alway consistent! The drinks are made with care and kindness! The treats are tasty. Please don't ever change! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's small inside but cozy with the fire place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]ALSO I just noticed theirs a small conference room you can use for quiet/down time or host meetings. It's first come first serve but what a cool idea![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Only bummer is the parking but honestly, if you have to park a block or two away it's totally worth it!

The drinks were just okay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a big cafe with plenty of seating and wifi.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's free street parking. The pastries look great- my kids had the donuts and seemed to enjoy them.

Espresso shot very well. Thick crema, golden brown color, slight bitterness. I'm very pleased with their espresso shot. Cortado was also prepared well. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for an espresso shot. Friendly staff, good service. Parking a little challenge with street parking.

Views and Cappuccino before the day begins if you haven't tried small, relaxing environment.. energy just flows and the staff is nice

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Calm, relaxing environment the energy and the views were perfect[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ... it's worth the try if you're trying to have some you time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like trying new coffee shops and this one so far wins the staff is nice the setting is just perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've passed by Portage Grounds many times but haven't been here. Since I was in the neighborhood today I decided to stop by and grab some chai. There is a good deal of outside seating, though it's not yet nice enough to sit out. Inside is really comfortable and very welcoming for people to hang out and get some work done. There's even a small office space--a little conference room--which I've never seen before. They also have a printer for use by patrons too. The menu isn't terribly extensive but has everything you'd expect at a coffee shop. The chai I had was good; nothing remarkable, but I would happily stop in for another cup. I picked up one of their specials, an Irish cream coffee (with Irish cream whipped cream!) for someone else and was told it was pretty darn good. The service was friendly, which I appreciate because sometimes it feels like employees at coffee shops can be a bit uppity. They have pastries and whatnot but since Id' just had lunch I wasn't in the market for sweets. Next time, almost certainly.

This is an adorable local coffee shop right across the street from Portage park. I was worried about not finding parking but was able to find a spot right in front of the shop. First, their fall decor is amazing. It's very inviting and nice to look at. It's pretty small inside but felt cozy. I was immediately greeted when I walked in. They have a seasonal menu with their fall specialty lattes. I opted for the caramel apple latte and then I got their herbed goat cheese croissant too. The latte was just ok. The flavor tasted weird to me. I couldn't really taste the apple. I got hints of the caramel but in a weird way. The flavor overall could've been better however the cup itself was cute!! The goat cheese croissant was delicious and huge in size!

Portage Grounds Coffee & Tea has been on my list of coffee shops to visit for quite some time. I was in the area, so I could not pass up the opportunity to stop by. I ordered a cold brew and my mom ordered a hot black coffee. My cold brew was not very strong. It definitely could have used a kick. My mom's coffee was very smooth and delicious. The staff was very friendly. Both the exterior and interior are quite cozy and cute. It is quite spacious inside with a good amount of seating. If I did not live over an hour away, I could definitely see myself bringing my laptop here to get some work done.

I wish I lived in the area so I could visit more! A real nice place with plenty of outdoor seating. I just walked in for a pumpkin spice latte and it tastes just like, maybe even better than, Starbucks for about 2/3 the price LOL Two people were working behind the bar and they were both super nice. They sanitize between guest, even outdoors. Super cute place. Love it after one visit. Will come back when I get my oil changed again down the block

No frills neighborhood spot with good coffee and good views! I'm a straight black cold brew kind of person so not the best judge of coffee variety lol Although the cold brew with a shot I got was great! Also got a huge danish cinnamon roll that was delicious and finished before I took a picture haha. Seems they have a random assortment of pastries varying daily. Also, saw that they have an online order platform "joe coffee app". Right across from the park, a great change of pace for a relaxing morning or when your just tired of the same old thing from Starbucks and want to help out a local business. Oh and all of that was for under $10...so yeah way cheaper than SBucks. Very clean, friendly and inviting, give it a try!

Iced cold brew. Yum. Terrific vibes. Across from the park. Take a nice walk and stop by here.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Iced cold brew. Yum. Across from park. Take a walk the. Stop here. Big flaky croissants. Great part of the neighborhood. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outdoor seating is lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Pulled up just before 6:30 AM on a weekday and there were just a few folks ahead of us in line, but service is quick. Cake donuts were actually pretty solid here; the Blueberry Cake Donut was the best item, super soft and moist with a good amount of berries throughout. The Pistachio Cake Donut for some reason was texturally firmer and drier than the other. Unfortunately, the fried donuts were all misses. The dough was just really dense and none of the toppings really hit. The Glazed Donut just made me sad that the dough was bad and the bacon on the Maple Bacon Donut wasn't crispy, so you got a cold, chewy, greasy bite that wasn't super pleasant. The chopped dough pieces in the Apple Fritter were also oddly firm instead of soft. For a place with rave reviews, I was pretty bummed by the donuts, but maybe the fried chicken sandwich is where it's at.

Recommended some items to us and after hearing we were on a donut tour, even threw in a freebie. Only outdoor seating available, but the weather was perfectly lovely. Everything led up to (finally) some lovely, super soft fluffy fried donuts. Glazed Donut and Strawberry Glazed Donut were exactly the pillowy, yeasted texture I was looking for and the latter even had a little extra tartness from the strawberries, which you could tell was made from real fruit! The Lemon Poppyseed Cake Donut ended up being a banger as well; great balance between sweet and sour, not dry at all, and cross between crumbly and a melt in your mouth texture. The Apple Fritter was the only miss. Had an odd aftertaste that almost reminded me of curry powder and was texturally super hard, like bits of cardboard.

It also doesn't hurt that they are open from 6am to Midnight - perfect for those sudden doughnut cravings! One thing that can be improved is how they handle big orders. Second and bigger problem is that they don't pack big orders so you can carry them out. How the heck am I going to carry 6 boxes and a bag of donuts??? Maybe they want to keep their business "small".
