She interprets dog speak so well ... she got us thinking and understanding Cosimo's reactions and feelings and more and more in tune with him. It's been wonderful to learn and understand our dog and work with him in the framework Jenna set. We relocated to Germany early March and brought Cosimo. In the months prior to travel, we read about Germany and how pet-friendly the country is - and how well-behaved German doggies are. This worried us and we did a few sessions with Jenna to brush up our skills in managing Cosimo. I am deliberately dwelling on 'our skills' ... because that's how Jenna works - she trains the owners more than she does the dog. It's been absolutely wonderful in Germany. We find Cosimo well-adjusted and wonderfully well behaved. He's in the upper percentile. Just this morning, there were two dogs barking and being quite aggressive - and Cosimo, off-leash, walked by, at my side, without so much as turning his head ... and this is because Jenna had told us to be reassuring ... Our dog Toby is a sweet, loving boy, but he has anxiety, is occasionally reactive, shuts down, and…read morerefused to walk from our house, making exercise difficult. Last year, we got to a point where we knew we had to do something about it. We knew we needed a safe, comfortable environment for him, not a big kennel-type environment. We interviewed several trainers, including a few closer to home. But when we found Moriah, we decided to make the trek to San Jose. We knew immediately that she is a true pro. She was able to get Toby to walk within a few minutes in an environment that he would not have for us, for example. And we loved that he'd be staying in her home with her and her dogs. After discussing our options with her, we decided to go for a full month of board-and-train. The idea of leaving him that long was hard because we knew it would be hard for him. But Moriah eased our fears with lots of communication and videos of Toby looking happy and productive. Being able to see him often was a big help. When we got him back, he was still him, but better. He was calmer and more relaxed in public, listened to commands better, knew how to stay on place, and walked from our house, which was huge for us. The included follow-up sessions have also been great. We've been able to refresh our skills and work on new ones with him, such as off-leash. And Toby was recently back at Moriah's for a two-week refresher while we traveled abroad (we were totally at ease this time, knowing he'd be well taken care of). A great trainer doesn't just train the dog; they train you. We had tried out a few run-of-the-mill trainers before, and they just didn't know what to do with Toby. Moriah was able to diagnose his issues and not only work with him on them but teach us how to handle him the right way. That made all the difference. Moriah is a highly skilled trainer, and I would recommend her to any dog owner, especially one with special training needs.
