I called yesterday to schedule a tour around the property. The lady who answered sounded like she didn't want to help me out. I spelled my name for her "Kimberlynn" and she didn't get it correct so I said "it's spelled the normal way for Kimberly with two N's at the end" and she snapped saying that Kimberly with an E (Kimberley) is the only way she knows how to spell it. Lol I'm pretty sure Kimberly is more common than Kimberley, but no need to snap about it. I say that to everyone who can't spell my name and no one has ever responded like this. I then asked her which direction the unit available is facing and she said she doesn't know but it's facing boones ferry rd.... Aren't leasing agents supposed to know which way the unit is facing? I've looked at over 10 complexes this week and Sofi was the only one that couldn't tell me. I'm not from here and don't even know where boones ferry is. I had to open my map and zoom all the way in to get an idea. After a while of me trying to figure it out myself she then told me it's facing south, but it's actually facing east which is a really big difference in amount of sunlight that hits the unit. I drove to the unit and used a compass app. She told me she would send more information the next day via email because she was already off of work. I never received that email. I drove around the complex and only seen one visitor parking. Parking is also VERY scarce. She even told me that over the phone, but in person it's a lot worse. I don't see enough parking to cover 2 people per household, so if you're a couple, family, or have visitors over good luck. I won't be applying here due to the unwillingness to be helpful from the front desk and the parking situation. Sounds like issues in the future if I were to move here. read more

I have lived in a lot of rentals, from not-so-fancy to downtown high-rises, and the most important person is your maintenance staff. Once you become a tenant, they are your singular point of contact, and ultimately shape how you feel about the place you call home. No matter where I have lived, I have respected and appreciated Maintenance, but I have to say the Maintenance here is exceptional. Jason seems to know the issues he encounters as if he has encountered them a thousand times before, has the most pleasant of personalities, and most of all, he is conscientious. He seems to legitimately want to do the best job he can both for the owners and tenants alike and he accomplishes that goal. We recently had a lengthy ice/snowstorm, and while everywhere I have rented has distributed salt/de-icer, I watched Jason meticulously make sure the salt made it up every step to every single door. A task that certainly took significant time and energy, but no doubt saved us all. I have also had him in my home on several occasions to rectify some failures from the previous owner that were done precisely and to the highest standard. Something I truly appreciate. I also honestly enjoy his presence in my home, something that I can rarely say I have thought of with other Maintenance. I do hope Jason is appreciated because he is truly a gem. read more

Sofi Lake Oswego - Go anywhere else! ABORT! ABORT! ABORT! The management is bad, you need to call/email/ask in person multiple times before a simple maintenance request is followed up on. Often I have had to ask multiple times to receive my packages also, which was weird because I would have a slip from them saying I had a package. Trash would litter the parking lot, the yards, brush up onto my front door even. We complained and got nothing in response. This was a problem from the 1st month tell the last when we moved. The apartment - Constantly has problems, from the SUPER THIN WALLS/CEILING Leaks in the wall I hear every time it rains. Which then leads to the mold that sprouts near the windows and back glass door. The vent above the stove is fake and doesn't expel the air out it just circulates the air back into the kitchen. So this causes smoke to build up rather quickly in the apartment. Broken shower head that sprays water every which way, they never replaced it despite saying they would and me asking multiple times. We constantly fought off ants, especially during the cold wet months. The location is fine, school is one of the best in Portland but you are over paying for a small 2 bedroom apartment that will have all the noise of your new neighbors and structural problems. OH and the best part if your new property manager will belittle your problems right in front of you and tell you to fix issues that were present during the walkthrough. read more

Spiders, bugs, and literal shit... this apartment complex has but one redeeming quality... a maintenance man who actually cares. Their leasing office staff are incompetent and uncaring. Eleanor pretends to be nice, but she is completely unapologetic and scrambles for excuses to any problem. She's the type that would sooner blame you for the shit coming up through the drain in your bath tub than apologize and explain the issue... oh yes... sewage coming up through the drain. We were gone for 3 days and no call! No one came in to clean it, no note left on the door. Just a toilet and bathtub filled with shit. I had to call to even get acknowledgement of this health hazard! If you are an entomologist, look no further. There are spiders and bugs galore here. When we repeatedly bring it up they claim they have someone spray every Monday, and then it takes them 6 months to have them spray around our apartment. Even after saying "oh but we sprayed your area a month ago!?" Guess what Eleanor, poison doesn't last that long and it obviously wasn't a very good attempt because we are still killing a dozen spiders every few days... that we find! Josh is no better than Eleanor, he leaves passive aggressive notes in the gym and brings his kids to work. The excuse of a gym... a humid, hot attic with no A/C that gets up to 100 degrees in the summer... broken equipment and bad insulation causing Josh to complain when you put down your weights too hard. The last health hazard I'll bring up... poor ventilation. They don't care about it either. They are happy to let mold and mildew grow in every corner of your apartment and then charged people moving out for not cleaning it all when they move out. I know the choices are slim in Portland, but trust me when I say keep looking! read more

This past summer, I began my search for a new apartment and was told that Sofi, Lake Oswego was a place that I might like. I met with Jasmine (the Manager), and after we had talked for awhile she invited me to one of their events "Yappy Hour" which was fun; but also gave me the opportunity to see first hand what life was like at Sofi! I've now been living there for almost two months and couldn't be happier. The property is beautifully maintained, the landscaping is gorgeous and the apartments have good quality fixtures, nice carpeting and ample outlets. There is even a medicine cabinet in the bathroom! But, what I appreciate most about living here is having a property manager that I can trust, who is full of positive energy and is always kind and welcoming when we drop by the office. I believe that to run a truly successful property you have to have not only managerial skills, but also people skills, and luckily for us, Jasmine has both! read more

"As a long term resident at Sofi LO. We've been through 3 managers. A new management team has come on board . Yet, the office continues to remain closed on a reg basis. A delightful new management member , Madisen (?) has already been transferred elsewhere . She was the "talk" of our poolside visits . Currently , after waiting for a long period of time due to Covid . With no reduction in rent . We can use the pool and other amenities again . Unfortunately , the pool is filthy . Insects and debris sitting on floor of pool . No apparent chemical management. A few sick children . Which seems to be due to their having swam in polluted water . "Love" making witnessed in the pool . Multiple occasions Many outsiders/non-Sofi residents have pool keys. Believe they are making them from a residents key. And past residents are keeping a key . The grounds landscaping has fallen sharply. The lighting at night has been turned off in areas. Is the complex going broke ? Unable to afford power ,pool chemicals and capable landscapers? I recently moved here after a co-worker recommended it. So far it has been a great experience! We have two dogs and they are afraid of cars whizzing by on walks so I really love that there are so many large grassy areas to walk within the complex, we never have to walk on busy streets anymore. The grounds are beautiful and the staff has been very helpful and accommodating with any issues we've had with appliances, neighbors, etc. It's a pretty quiet community with great amenities-- we love the fire pit and dog park! Parking would be an issue if you have more than one person in your household and don't rent a parking spot, but we rented a garage and haven't had any issues with guests coming over so far. When we first arrived to look at the apartments here we were greeted by Daniel he was very kind and very informational he was able to answer all her questions and if there was something he didn't know he called Katie and got the answer immediately leaving no time wasted. Not only was Daniel very informational but he was also a great conversation as we were walking through the apartment complex and he was showing us the units It felt as if we were talking to someone who is a friend rather than a leasing agent we were very pleased with his customer service skills and his overall demeanor. We had to come back to sign our lease and that's when we met Katie Katie is the manager and she is great at what she does she's also very kind very sweet and informational her customer Service skills were great. My husband and I are moving at the end of the month, and while we are excited for our new place, I must admit - I am really bummed to be leaving Sofi. This is definitely the best apartment complex we have ever lived in and I have appreciated every day. Pros: The new management is responsive and helpful, but not obtrusive. They let you live your life without constant inspections and interference, but are there if you need them. This community is SO QUIET. I occasionally hear my upstairs neighbor walking around, and the landscaping noises on Friday can get a bit annoying, but overall, this community is peaceful, quiet, and calm. We are in a one bedroom, and I am still (one year later) shocked by the amount of storage space. We have a fairly large master closet, two hall closets, a laundry area with shelving, a good amount of cabinet space in the bathroom, tons of cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, and a storage closet on the deck. The kitchen is so nice. The set up is perfect for us, and I have really, really enjoyed using it. The countertops are laminate, but they hold up and were well chosen. I love the light color and how it contrasts with the dark shaker style cabinetry. There are some nice functional touches, such as a fireplace, a ceiling fan, and large mirrored doors. The area. It is so quiet over here, and I love that we are close to I5 and 217, the Mountain Park area, Bridgeport Village, New Seasons, and more. We are also fairly close to the hiking trails at Tryon Creek. Cons: I know this is a lame complaint, but I really really wish the apartments weren't carpeted. I hate carpet so much. Additional ceiling fans or ac would be nice. But, we had a window ac unit and that worked well for us. The only reason we are moving is because our commutes to work are getting annoying, and we'd rather be able to hop on the max (me) or walk (my husband). So, we're moving downtown. Like I said though, we have truly appreciated our time here, and love these apartments. Now, let's hope the move-out process goes well. That seems to be where a lot of management companies get you (based on other reviews I've read). So, fingers crossed! read more

I have lived in LO for over 20 years and have seen how expensive it is around here. I can tell that Sofi is a great place to live and fairly priced. I am very pleased with this apartment complex and the staff. This place is pet friendly and the grassy green areas are a nice complement. A doggy park is located to the east side of the complex, which we tend to use to let our dog run around and burn some of its endless energy. I have reported a couple of issues with my unit in the past, and they have been really good at addressing the issues and getting them resolved. I think that Jasmine is friendly and a good manager and Ziad (their maintenance person) is very attentive and kind. I am very appreciative of their refreshing personalities and very happy to live here. Cons: thin walls from bedroom to bedroom. People don't always pick up after their dogs at the doggy park. Pros: fantastic staff, quiet community, the apartment has a nice distribution, cute kitchen, good school district, close to schools and small local business, safe neighborhood to go for a walk and prompt to follow up on issues. read more

We moved into the apartments after pinnacle property management took over. The day they took over. The last property management people left no notes or information for the new property management group. We worked with pinnacle property they came in on a Sunday and made sure our move-in worked out. The road noise from Boones Ferry is normal noise if you have lived in any major city. Moving from LA area the noise isn't bad but for people coming from more rural area it may be. It's kind of the trade off to be close to downtown Lake Oswego. We also live in the remodeled unit which is more expensive and nicer. Moving from California to Oregon this place has made the move a little easier. read more

OK....I have never been a guy to write a review....however I feel it is my duty to explain how this place is to live. I have been here for eight years and have seen a steady upgrade over the years....with the property. The management has gone downhill accordingly with the corporate takeover. Today we have a management team(???) that have: towed my car parked in a proper spot in the middle of the night, sent eviction notice for not paying utilities bills even though the bills were wrong and it took six months for them to get it right....they had their attorney send me a letter stating they were "scared of me" because I was pissed they towed me for no reason.....that cost me $450.....until they compromised and split it cuz they knew they were wrong. These rookies of property management are horrible folks....they mess up and you cannot hold them accountable or an attorney will write you a letter. Kaydi is a raw rookie who will send you an eviction notice for waking up......these folks make me cringe.....I never had a problem with management living here.....I used to love it here...great location....used to be a pretty good value...now....extremely expensive....a mortgage payment and horribly unqualified management......I cannot express how bad this management team is...they made me leave this otherwise decent property. Recently, my wife and I moved to Lake Oswego. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this area and the beauty all around us. I've been all over Portland and nothing compares to it. Everything we need is so close. My commute to northern Portland is fast and very easy! The staff at Sofi Apartments is incredible; they are all topnotch! Jasmine helped make our transition smooth and Daniel has also been amazing! We had some minor repair issues (i.e. plugged drain and loose kitchen cabinet hardware) and their maintenance staff fixed them immediately -even over the holidays! My wife and I previously lived out-of-state; therefore, we took a risk and signed our lease before actually visiting Sofi Apartments. We understand the fears of getting into a contract on a place we haven't yet experienced. For this reason, I feel moved to share this. I would highly recommend Sofi Apartments to anyone interested in moving to the Portland area -without hesitation. read more

I have lived here for almost a year. The staff, Jasmine and Daniel, are very kind and helpful! Whatever your needs are, they knock themselves out trying to see that you are well taken care of. When I was trying to carry something heavy into my apartment, Daniel happened to see me struggling and came rushing over to my rescue. They both go above and beyond! The neighbors are friendly and I have met many of them while walking my dog. There is a dog park where our dogs can play. The grounds are well maintained. They have been hauling truck loads of leaves out of here because there are many beautiful trees. There is a nice pool to sun bath while the children play and there is a fire pit. This place is located only a couple minutes to I-5 and it is a quiet complex. This is the best complex I have been in! If you have children, they go to the Lake Oswego schools which are some of the best in the entire state. I highly recommend you check it out if you are wanting to move to this area. read more

Do yourself and your wallet a favor and avoid this place. We signed a one year lease in 2015. The building sits next to Lower Boones Ferry Rd. and the traffic noise is nonstop. You cannot have the patio door open and not be overwhelmed by the noise. The building we were in is shielded by many trees and consequently there is no sunlight of any kind. Coupled with the poor lighting you dwell in a cave. It's that dark. The water, sewer, trash bills are mind boggling. You may pay over $150/month for this alone. They are watering the grounds, it runs down the road into the sewer so you pay twice. The nonsmoking policy is not enforced so smokers have a blast. The rest of you will bear the result. They would not investigate this behavior no matter what. Smoke was pouring out of the windows around us but "we have no evidence." The gym is run down and dirty. They told us they would only do 1,2 or 4 month leases when it was time to renew and that they would keep their finger on the pulse of the rental market to determine potential rent. Think it will go down? The mail boxes were broke into over the course of a month and virtually everyone was impacted. - Who else do you think had the master keys? Water pressure is very poor and fixtures are junk. Stove and refrigerator were old, the door didn't fit the fridge as it was from a different model slapped on without checking. MOLD - mold everywhere as remember you're in a cave. Thick black mold on every window frame needed cleaning almost every week. Shower mold was non-stop and we cleaned every couple days. No joke, I've never seen it as bad. The stairway into the apartment Is nuts. 15 plus steps down and 15 more up. Who builds like this? Both sets of movers commented what a crazy architecture this was, Everyone that saw it said the same. Just dumb construction. The new management company that bought it late-2015 is unresponsive and vengeful if you have anything to say that they don't agree with. In summary, I know there's not much out there in the area, but keep shopping because this property is horrible and it will be the worst "luxury home" you've ever been in. read more
