We were across the street at Red Robin dreaming of bottomless fries with a cold brewski....little did we know my friend said "hey let's go across the street there's a really good bbq spot". Being from Texas growing up on tendernism bbq I was edging from the mouth at bbq. We get there and it is completely dead inside as we are the only ones stupid enough to go to bbq in Washington. I got the brisket which was more like if you took beef jerky and jerked it silly for too long and the pulled pork was like hair from a shower drain with a hint of sweat. The beans were frozen, heated, frozen again and reheated with a hair dryer and run through Debby's armpit hair. The Mac cheese was lovely as well as the banana pudding I would order again. It was definitely not fresh, meet wasn't good enough to stand on its own, sauce wasn't good enough to fix the meat, and the sides were inedible. You form a line, order your food, and then bring it on a tray to an open table of your choice. I was disappointed they do not offer COMBO MEALS. The seasonal veggies were a few cooked carrots and one stalk of broccolini that died in the warming dish. My dinner mates chicken Alfredo the sauce had a very odd sweetness with a citrus taste.. The service was fair. The temperature is freezing as they have the thermostat set at 68° and is by the hot kitchen. $100 for dinner for 2 for a fair meal. read more

Not bad for the tri cities! I ordered the brisket (half a pound) and sausage (about a third of the link). I hadn't tried any of the sauces before so I tried them all of course. They were all pretty good, but none was exceptionally great. The brisket was super tender. The pieces were all cooked the same way, which was a bit odd for me. But, no complaints because it wasn't dry at all. The sausage was nice and salty. I also ordered the gouda mac n cheese, which was actually too bland for my taste. Good, but certainly not worthy of 4 stars! Upon arrival, I had high expectations of eating great barbecue and when I left felt disappointment. Traditional get in line, order at the counter off the menu board, cafeteria style on a metal tray. The meats offered were pulled pork, ribs, brisket, sausage and smoked turkey. I ordered the smoked turkey which turned out extremely juicy as it was marinated in butter. (I have a severe dairy allergy) I can only blame myself because I didn't ask about the additives. The 4 hour drive to Portland after lunch was very uncomfortable and I only have myself to blame. My greatest objection in this dining experience was not being able to receive a printed receipt for my meal purchase and that was a first time ever experience for me! As a road warrior on expense account, if I had to print a week's worth of meal, hotel & gas receipts at home after that week's travel would amount to 30-40 transactions. For me, not offering a printed credit card receipt at the point of purchase is unacceptable and there are no legitimate excuses by any provider! I ordered smoked turkey, a small drink and a small side of baked beans. This side was pre-prepared SYSCO institutional food fare and I ate less than half before tossing. This meal, tax & tip was just under $18. The overall experience was a blatant reminder to me that quality Texas style barbeque is extremely scarce in Washington where diners expectations and food standards are low compared to other parts of the country. read more

Mac n cheese had some flavor but that shell pasta was either undercooked or just not the right medium for the sauce. The coleslaw was a style I've not had often nor care much for, but that's a personal choice and not necessarily a reflection of the actual slaw. It was ridiculous that they charged me $14 for a baked potato with a small amount of brisket and some cheese sauce. It's obvious they think their BBQ is something to behold, but not at these ridiculous and arrogant prices. March special barbecue sauce "espresso ", we should have stopped in earlier. We had a Jonny sandwich and a side of Cole slaw. The brisket and pork were great- had some nice crispy edges and moist. The espresso sauce was a real bonus. I also tend to judge barbecue places by the sides- the Cole slaw was light on dressing which worried me at first but it just needed to be stirred up a bit. The cabbage was right shred, fresh, and crisp. My only disappointment was I had agreed to share with my wife. By the way, I bought some espresso sauce and ate today with some tasty kielbasa. Was better than expected! Came in without knowing much. I am a BBQ fan and when I travel around the USA I like to try it everywhere I go. Obviously, they base their BBQ on South Carolina Style. I had BBQ Brisket and my wife had the Pulled Pork. We had some Jalapeno Poppers, Pickles (made-in-house) & Baked Beans. Everything was perfectly cooked, great flavor and wonderful sauce choices. I honestly have nothing negative to say. Price was on the higher end, but you're paying not only for the meat but the time and effort to get it just right.
