    Best burger in town. Burgerlicious.

I love this Chicago eatery. So glad this one is close .. The burger and fries remind me of the old school burger joints. Grilled to perfection, hot and juicy. Yum.

Had an opportunity to visit this brand new Portillo's in The Villages. We met up with fellow Yelpers Dawne F. and Paula C. the first time and then went back for seconds yesterday. Interior appears to have a golf theme for all the retirees that live in the community. Not the traditional look from the exterior that most Portillo's display but a nice looking store. I love the old fashioned awnings but this new look was very clean. There is seating both inside and outside. The outside seating has a view of the refreshing splash pad. We enjoyed some Italian Beef Sandwiches with mozzarella, fries and I tried the Chocolate Cake Shake. I was a little disappointed in my sandwich and found it to be quite dry even though I ordered it wet. The shake also was not my jam. I prefer the cake itself. Service from Alyssa was very helpful and all the staff were super friendly and kind. The company was superb and we basically closed the place down conversing and laughing the entire time. Second time we went, Liam helped me select my sandwich with extra gravy and it was so much better. This is the Portillo's I know and love. Of course the fries were fresh and hot just what we expect. Purchased a couple slices of cake to go! So happy to have a Portillo's here that we can easily access when we are visiting our Dad.

First time to The Villages location. Staff was super friendly - came by to check on us, cleaned up our table, told us about all the different options for our next visit. Super helpful. I highly suggest joining the perks club. It's free and you get a FREE fry after joining. And this week I got a free sandwich with a $1 purchase. So they seem to have pretty good rewards. We tried the famous beef sandwich, regular sized, wet. Wet means that it has more gravy on it, so the bread (at the bottom) will get more soggy, but I knew that and thought it was delicious. You can order it dry if you don't like moist bread. The staff also suggested that I ask for a side of gravy, so I can pour it on as I eat. I'll have to do that next time. The sandwich doesn't come with anything on it. I got it plain for my first go, but next time I will add sweet peppers (they have hot also) and probably cheese. My husband had a grilled chicken chopped salad and said it was good. You really don't come here for the salads. They're known for the beef sandwiches, hot dogs and burgers. We're going to come back and try a burger next. The decorations are fun and themed for The Villages - hanging golf balls on tees on the ceiling, an art mural with golf carts, etc. Really cute. They offer indoor and outdoor dining. The outdoor seats have a nice view of the splash pad/fountain that lights up at night. Highly recommend. After dinner, take a short stroll for dessert over at the new custard shop.

What better place to meet two of my favorite Yelpers than my favorite Chicago eatery? That's right...Portillo's newest location has landed in The Villages...and it was the perfect spot for a UYE with NV Yelper Renee N. & AL Yelper Paula C. It's one of the smaller locations with inside accommodations for 111 people, and has plenty of additional outdoor covered patio seating. As usual, the staff was friendly & efficient and Alyssa went out of her way to assist our party of 5. The typical vintage-dining decor is perfectly appropriate for this locale with its golf themed inspiration. Kiosks are available for easy ordering and they offer a great rewards program. Portillo's...I only have FRIES for you.

Had the opportunity to come down from our home just north of Middleton location to try other items of this restaurant and we were glad we did. The cheese burger with all items including lettuce, tomatoes, onions,,pickles and condiments was almost too big to eat, but my wife and I did our darndest to accomplish it and it was a very good tasting sandwich with an extra side of fries to go with.

Wonderful new Portillos location! I came here on Labor Day, and while the restaurant was crowded, the experience was pleasant and quick! We ordered our food super quick on the self serve screen. It took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready and it was hot and fresh. We ordered hot dogs, onions rings, and a milkshake. The hotdog is delicious with a super soft bun and great toppings on the Chicago dog! The onion rings were hot, crispy, and perfectly cooked. I'd highly recommend dipping them in a side of the giardiniera sauce. Service was great! We had our table wiped down and cleaned before we sat and a manager even came around checking on guests to see how their experience was. This is a great new addition to Middleton! I'm not sure why the reviews are so negative. Residents should be excited for new businesses arriving in the area.

We're longtime Chicago fans, so having a Portillo's right here in The Villages feels like a dream come true and they absolutely delivered. The whole place is themed with golf touches that fit The Villages perfectly, and it is one of the cleanest fast casual spots we've been to. I ordered the classic Italian Beef with peppers, the number one, and it was perfection. Hot, juicy, packed with flavor, and it came out unbelievably fast. Truly just like home. The food was great across the board, the atmosphere was fun, and the service was quick and friendly. We're so happy to finally have a Portillo's here and it's going to be a regular stop for us.

So excited a Portillo's opened in The Villages! It is a smaller location, so their menu is missing a couple options. My polish sausage was delicious, and my folks liked their Italian beef sandwiches, although they forgot the peppers on my stepmom's. It was pretty busy when we went but got our food super quick - a bit of a challenge to find a table though!

I first was introduced to this visiting my wife's favorite city where her mother grew up in Illinois and loved it. While traveling home from Tampa we noticed the there was a Portillo's on our way home we tried it. Tasted exactly the same to one of the original places in Illinois.

    Onion rings...freshly cooked.

First thing, my husband is a burger snob. We ordered from the self service kiosk. Easy to navigate. Order prepared quick AND correctly. We both ordered the cheeseburger meal. One with fries, the other with onion rings. Great patties with substance- no flimsy burger patty here. Burgers were charbroiled ( just right - not too much aka NOT burnt) and buns were toasted. Veggies on my burger were fresh. Fries and rings were hot and freshly cooked. They serve Coke products----points given! We sat on patio on this nice October evening. Oldies music played on speakers at good volume. Bathrooms were clean. Good water pressure at the sink. Excellent service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We will definitely be back!

I had the pleasure once of actually meeting in person the former top dog...CEO of the whole shebang, Peter, who bought the original Mike's back in 1975, and let's just say, that's a story for another day. Wink wink. But, I do love that their meats and cheeses are all top-quality premium brands and the MSA Grade top round beef is actually trimmed and cooked right in the store. This location was clean and the staff was friendly & efficient. My favorite sub is the Roast Beef & Provolone Mike's way...lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar and spices on Rosemary Parmesan Bread. Oh, and my 4-year old Great Niece, this is her favorite lunch spot too...she tore up the Turkey and Provolone Mini. LOL. A sub above.

I tell him I had ordered a Giant, he says he will "make me the other half" with sort of a cocky smirk, but he makes no haste to go and do so. I didn't want him too anyway. When things are going right I run out the door with the hot sub and wrap it in insulation, so it is still hot when we get home. This guy wants one of us to eat a cold one because of his mistake. He didn't offer to only charge me for the small one either. I didn't want to wait for another large one to be made, not that he offered to, if he could bother to get around to it, as the wife was waiting in the car, so I just left. I am going to give this location a rest until the staff shuffles again, as it has many times since it opened.
