I must say I am extremely satisfied with everything about Maryland Fried Chicken. The drive thru attendant was very pleasant and helpful answering all my questions. The service was very efficient and the food was served hot and deserves a 10 star rating. The chicken was the best home style chicken I have had since having fried chicken in my Grandmother's Diner (1960s) And that's saying a lot!! I will most definitely be going again to try other selections on their menu. They have a great selection of foods to choose from with extremely reasonable prices. The portions were not super sized which I found to be nice and I still could only eat half of what they served. So, the leftover will be my lunch tomorrow. I will bring friends on my next visit. My rating is primarily based on the food; the star deductions are due to other areas of my experience. I've been trying out many different restaurants that sell wings, because... I love wings! Why not... Maryland's is a small fried chicken restaurant in Leesburg. The appearance and the 'look of cleanliness' could use a bit of work (inside and out; seems to be primarily due to wear and tear). In regards to the food, I ordered a 10-piece wing (hot and garlic parmesan) and a kids meal (chicken leg, baked beans, roll and a small drink). I really liked my wings. I would have loved to have more sauce options but, in general, the chicken is always good here. No issues with customer service. It's very similar to most carry-out and fast food locations. The wait can be a bit slow, so expect to wait at least 20 min for your food. Calling ahead may be worth a try, if available. read more

I kept asking people if the Maryland fried chicken was good. So many folks didn't know! I love fried chicken and I had to try it! Whoa, this far exceeds the colonel chicken by far! Not too much breading and super tasty crunch with the skin. The chicken is juicy and tasty and so much flavor. I would say the beans and the mashed potatoes were good. Long wait in drive thru line. Only menu was at the window where you order. Under duress, since there was a line of cars behind us, we ordered 10 wings each. $13.99 each. Wings were very small and we should have ordered the sauce on the side. Publix was across the street. We could've gotten 20 wings for $14.98 there and they're much larger. We drove about 45 minutes to come to Maryland's. We called ahead to make sure that they were still open and making orders cook to order. They guy that answered the phone (after about calling 10 times) told us that he's drop it so that it would be coming up as we got there. However upon getting the food, it was cold and you could tell that it was not fresh. I mean we could've chosen any chicken place for that long drive, and yet, they did not meet the standard or hold up their end of the deal. Horrible Service today Tuesday 4-25-2023! I will never return to this place! I called to place a Togo order. The black girl on the phone acted like she could not hear me. She hung up and I called back. She answered again. She said let me place you on hold. I help for almost 4 minutes and made it to the restaurant. As I was walking in the store she hung up. The whole whole I could hear everything in the background. The white man at the front I don't know if he was the manager or the owner but he was so nonchalant about it. He said they cook food to order. I order from this same place a couple weeks ago No problem! Today problem! Last time I order it was a white girl who took my order she was very nice! The cole slaw was very good. The mashed potatoes, I'm pretty sure were instant. The flavor of the potatoes and gravy wasn't too bad. However, the chicken was not as good as Publix fried chicken. I just ordered chicken and chicken gizzards and I'm just heated now. Everything is completely saturated in grease and not even cooked fully. The boxes I got everything is was drenched in grease!! This is the way Maryland Fried chicken is supposed to taste, 100% delicious. Of course they used to be a chain throughout Central Florida in the south east and most vendors have change the recipe a bit but this one is spot on. The fries the creamy coleslaw everything well worth it my 50 mile drive to go there. Is the restaurant brand new? No it looks like a repurpose burger chef or something but that's What makes it great. The chicken was not bad, but you better bring cash because for some reason, they won't take credit cards which was a surprise to me. The mashed potatoes seems as if it was poured out of a box, heated and served to me along with the baked beans that seemed to have come out of a can with no seasoning. The service was awful.
