I see a lot of sour grapes writing reviews here, and that usually means the people writing them do not have their affairs in order or the required stuff needed to stay short- or long-term in an established community. My experience with Rolling Hills has been extraordinary; the manager, Anne, has been extremely helpful and informative from Day One of my inquiry process- which was stressful because I was moving on short notice from across the country to take on a new position and role in my company - so almost everything was new! I traveled through and arrived here during the worst weather the West and the Portland area has seen in decades and sustained some weather-related damage on my trip up. Anne has provided me with shopping, community, repair, neighborhood, and other valuable information - and everyone I have spoken with has nothing but kind and supportive things to say about Rolling Hills and the management as well. I am NOT an easy person to please, so when someone cares about their job AND their community and stands out as going above and beyond, I am ALWAYS happy to provide that feedback. We always get the negative side - people love to complain. But the positive information is FAR more important!

I will stay here when rooms are booked at McMenamins and since I have a trailer, why not. I personally like this place. It's clean, it's quiet, and the people are so kind (employees and residents). I love watching the people walking by with their dogs. I feel like it's a doggy parade. I do appreciate that everyone follows the leash rule and keeps their doggies on leash when walking them. It just makes it safe for other dogs. We have stayed on the creek side only but I may venture to the river side next time. One the creek side it is quiet. I know the river side is closer to the I-84 so I am curious how much louder it will be. I guess I may find out this summer. I definitely recommend staying here when you have something going on at Edgefield or honestly, just stay here just because it's a great place.

(truck trailer just shy of 60 ft) site was spotless, and well graveled level. Sites on forested side are cut into the hillside, but cut at an angle from the main road that are easy to back in, just using mirrors, no spotter needed. No off air TV reception, had no problem connecting to WiFi, cell reception. Lots of foliage, birds, etc it was our 29th anniversary, the owners where willing to direct/assist with making sure the delivery driver found our sight. (flowers n basket for wife). the only negatives, I would say are minor, and probably more of my personal preference item: * i like to choose my own site not be assigned, that being said i asked for a wooded, isolated sight,, got wooded and in an area we would have to our self for 4 of our 5 nights, and really enjoyed the sight chosen for us. (we try to isolate we have a dog who barks too much). *i don't like having to pay for showers, the hassle of having to have quarters, i feel like at a certain price point it should be included. * i would prefer to have a private changing area, for privacy and to keep an eye on my stuff. ( i know nobody wants my dirty socks and boxers) the shower timers are accurate or slightly generous, water was hot, bathroom was not drafty, and everything was clean. Hoped for a lake ( Timberlake) or a stream or hiking. we have a 22ft trailer and big diesel 4wd and in low range it was difficult to get in site 32. $154 for two nights. well organized great office staff but would not go back unless their was absolutely nothing else available. They did inform us before hand fwd would be required to get in the site. Most of the sites were the same . Down by the office there were long timers camped right next to each other.

There used to be a community room, it's now the owners "mancave". He has a sticker on the office window that says he accepts credit cards, that's a lie. This guy is stuck in the 80's and only accepts paper checks. The old owner just ran our card for rent, it was super convenient. My neighbor had a tree limb fall on his trailer during a storm, the owner didn't want to contact insurance to properly take care of the issue. Instead he tries to make deals like a used car salesman. (I have a feeling that's going to come back to bite him, karma does that) There used to be professional landscapers to take care of the park, now a teenager does it and doesn't even bag the grass. Not to mention the owner, Chip went to do some weed eating because he's so cheap, the idiot broke my truck window with a rock while doing so. He also threatened to kick me out because I used a blower to clean up his grass mess. The grass was being tracked everywhere! So we did move. Best decision I've made in a long time. The fellow longterm campers now call the park "Hitler's camp". I know a bit dramatic but he does walk around the park 24/7 and pretends to be your friend, then dictates and tries to tell you what to do. The way I see it, he just has a big case of little man syndrome. It's like owning a bar and also drinking in it on a nightly basis. Just something you shouldn't do. People that have been here for a long time are leaving solely because of the new owner. I can't reccomend NOT staying here enough, seriously. Fairview or sandy river rv park would be my recomendation if you need to be on the east side.

Hence, the cards lost their function on our third night stay when we got back from our adventure and it was late, so the front office was closed. ( it was like almost 10 pm) When I called the emergency number, Tyler, the service gentleman on duty was very polite and helpful, he met me and my family at the bathhouse a few minutes later, with one of the maintenance cards for us to use. He truly showed us the meaning of hospitality. We loved how clean the resort was: it was the first resort we ever stayed having workers out cutting grasses and watering plants. The roses were beautiful! We loved the swimming pool & hot tub, as well the walking trails and rivers nearby. The water quality and pressure in the shower room was excellent! (This has been a problem for me in all the RV parks we had stayed in the past) Overall, the experience with Premier RV Resort has been the best we have had! Watching the different boats, ships and containers go by is so interesting. But , our favorite is watching the seals go fishing right near us. A small river rock with an amber crystal cluster embedded in the rock's fracture was exposed and a chunk of jasper. It's a small park on the river that had swings for kids, and decent views. Was looking for a few agates but didn't find any. Geese had the place under control lol.
