I've come here a handful of times and have done some easy walks, as well as the more strenuous trek all the way up to Pittock Mansion. The observation deck is always a favorite stop too since it's such a pretty area. The whole park is very lush and seems to stay that way no matter the time of year. Not sure if all of the trails are dog friendly, but we have brought a dog on some and see lots of them throughout the park.

The drive down winding,…read morenarrow Germantown is pretty awesome in itself, but the trail here is pretty sedate, kinda flat to start, running through some old growth forest and in a matter of minutes it feels like wilderness except for the odd mountain biker whizzing past. It's a wide, graded path that was probably a fire road at one time, so it can get pretty popular and crowded on weekends, but there's plenty of room for all, though parking is pretty much limited to a pullout with a clearing on the side of the road. Husband put on the emergency brake when I went in and to get to our site, it WAS REALLY STEEP down the hill. At the bottom of the HILL you needed to make a sharp turn into your row. Sites are close together when you get to your space, no picnic benches, no pool/hot tub, okay laundry room and the bathroom/showers were dirty. No road noise just sirens. Lots of long term RV's staying at the park. Absolutely NO BIKE RIDING...... People not from the park are walking on the riverfront walkway which is separated by a two foot fence.(They can just hop over that short wood fence! I realize that this park is in the "Portland/Metro area BUT this park was the most expensive park so far on this 2025 trip with no amenities. The road up the hill to get out of the park is steep and you can only turn right (we needed to go left) so we needed to go right about 2 miles before we could make make a U-TURN! Staff very friendly but I will never return because of the reasons listed.

On…read morethe way we were searching a bunch of RV site apps for a good spot that would have an opening that evening. Slim pickings. I turned to my trusty Yelp and found Roamer's Rest RV Park. They had "one spot left" so we took it. It was about 20 min away from my Nephew's house in Beaverton, but we needed a spot and it was late and Yelp reviews were positive. We had no expectations so when we arrived (late), we were pleased by the nice touches at the managers office. Flowers, clear signage, and our packet on the door. Our pull through site was easy to find and easy to access. We were under a big light which provided great light for our domino game. But we did have to cover up our ceiling vents at night to sleep. It wasn't too big a deal. Since we were an end unit we had a bit more lawn to relax on. Rather than moving closer to my nephews house for night 2 we asked to extend here for a second night. They made the accommodation for us by redirecting the next nights guest to a different slip. Very kind. We met some of the neighbors. And we took advantage of the washers and dryers and showers. We were able to show up at my nephews house all clean for his family. I asked the "manager" at the office if the "owner" owned multiple RV parks. Turns out she was the owner's wife. This was their only RV Park. They started it from scratch. Her husband bought an old defunct place on the river and over time turned it into a super clean, very well run RV park. The Stalls look a little close in pictures but there was plenty of room and everyone gets lawn. And, they're on the Tualatin River. I was told that "Tualatin" means "slow moving water" or something close in the Native American language. Overall a great stay. Loved the husband - wife ownership. And the fact they have had the same maintenance and groundskeeper since the beginning. That shows "good people". Definitely Recommended.

A gem of a park!…read more I've always admired all the tall, barked beauties any time I've driven by. So today when we grabbed lunch to-go nearby I requested we bring it back to eat amongst the treeeeees. The park is fab...bocce ball courts and volleyball courts, a lovely play area, and picnic tables. Everything looked very well-maintained and clean. And, if you're like me and adore trees, it's just a great place to sit in your car, relax and take them all in while you eat. :)

The…read moretrails are well-maintained, and we love that there are three different routes to choose from: Little Prairie Loop, Cooper Mountain Loop, and Larkspur Loop. We took about an hour and a half to complete a 3.5-mile hike with the kids, starting from the parking lot, exploring the Little Prairie Loop, and doing a full circle around the Cooper Mountain Loop. We avoided Blacktail Way since it takes a bit longer to get back to the parking lot, but it's great to have options for all hiking preferences. One of the best features is the trail maps along the way--super helpful and makes it hard to get lost. It's always a joy to step outside and enjoy nature here. There is a small playground kids can also enjoy next to the parking lot. Highly recommend!

The trail is listed as beginner friendly, but if you struggle with inclines or you're not very active, be prepared for a bit of a challenge. We completed the full 3 miles, and the views were absolutely worth it! I definitely struggled near the end because I'm athletically challenged. Overall its a good place to stay. We started off a little rough due to them not having our forms…read moreready when we arrived late night. Another camper had a similar issue even though we payed in advance. We stayed for nearly a month. The park itself is clean, it had a mini gym with a few machines and equipment. The gym has restrooms and a kitchen (along with a table with free items). The restrooms and showers are clean. The dog parks were far (one across the street from the park as you enter and one way across the site) so we didnt use them. Areas dont have any benches and the grass was extremely dry since they dont water it (almost like hay like since it was dry). We watered our grass and it begun to grow, but they never cut the grass. The office staff were helpful and addressed any concerns immediately. Some days they were friendly and other days they seemed bothered. Nothing for children. In the guidelines it stated children may not play in roads (many cars drive fast so I see why as it's a safety concern) Dumpsters are clean and get picked up often. Different dumpsters around the entire part. There is a restaurant at the boat doc that had great food and service (other places in Portland disappointed us). Downtown Portland is rough. A lot of homelessness and drug addicts. We had witnessed a man on drugs what appeared to be dragging a dead body in a sleeping bag. Definitely don't want to be downtown when it starts to get dark. Locals said it was the norm to see homeless people dead on sidewalks in sleeping bags. Close to the Washington border, however traffic on the bridge is crazy! They also have a night security.
