We stepped in recommended by the owner of the hotel El Primero right across from Posh Salon. Her son goes and lives Martin's perfect cuts. How often do you find a hairdresser who listens and accomplishes everything you envisage ? NEVER well not anymore. He squished us in as a walk in but not without checking what my daughter wanted , the time he had ahead. He proceeded with a thorough shampooing and then the magic began with the scissors. Like everyone she wanted a new head but not lose the length and she did get a transformative haircut without losing length. The vibe is chilled and warm. Don't waste your time here! I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance to have my hair styled and made a 10am appointment because I was in a rush. I arrived early and the stylist wasn't there. I waited 10 minutes before asking the stylist that was there for an update and she shrugged and said "i texted him and he isn't answering". It wasn't until 20 minutes had passed that she even attempted to call another stylist. Thankfully Shear Envy salon is down the street and after they heard of what happened here they were so kind to squeeze me in. Go to Shear Envy, or any other salon! This place sucks! Oh, and I was quoted $60 dlls for curling my hair at POSH and it was significantly less at Shear Envy, with the 20% tip included! This salon is unprofessional and a rip-off. I made an appointment a week in advance and came in for my appointment at 10:00am and I was told my appointment was never recorded. I was then told to return 1 hour later after he was done giving a client a haircut. I received a text at 10:45am saying that the client wanted to color their hair and to return after 5:00pm. I responded "I understand but would like a discount if possible, because I had to rearrange my schedule as I was planning to be done by 4pm". I have not received an answer and it is past 6:00. I was going to try this place for the first time and scheduled my appointment a few days in advance. I had an appointment for Sunday at 10:00am. When I got there, the salon was closed. I waited outside the salon for 30 minutes, called the salon numerous times and my call went straight to voicemail. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe they confused my appointment time, so I left a voice message but I never go a call back. I understand emergencies come up, but I would've appreciated a call back, an explanation, something!! This shows such disregard and disrespect for someone's time. I needed a last minute hair appointment & I went on Yelp looking for a salon and came across POSH Salon, best choice I've ever made!!! The hair stylist that Martin, the owner picked out for me was Oscar. I came in and was quickly greeted by Oscar me with a smile and a handshake, that made me feel welcomed. I had rainbow hair, it was horrible, I wanted to get a more evened out blonde. Oscar explained everything perfectly. Most stylist insist on doing what it is you want, I like to hear what they think even if it's negative, Oscar did just that he gave me recommendations and they turned out to be spot on. They are amazing when it comes to hairstyling and waxing eyebrows but not so much on makeup. In 2016, I came here to get my makeup done because I was graduating from City College and it was a disaster. The makeup artist was using old techniques of makeup, didn't blend my eyeshadow, never contoured my face, and couldn't do a winged eyeliner to save my life. The makeup artist and staff thought I looked pretty but I felt that I looked like a clown. I didn't want to start arguing and eventually paid the $80. Martin is an amazing stylist! I've taken myself and my daughter to him to get our haircuts. He is so much fun to talk to. The chairs are wide so a big girl like me doesn't feel uncomfortable. Spent $250 on Brazilian blowout from a new girl, who they claimed was "one of their best hairstylist." When she was applying the product I noticed that she was applying hardly any product on my hair considering I have a lot, curly and thick hair. Their base price for this product is $150 but depending on how much hair and how long it is the price goes up. 2-3 days later my hair was curly again. It's been a couple weeks and my hair is back to its normal curled hair... so $250 that I had budgeted for my hair has gone to the trash. This normally lasts 4-5 months, I've done this treatment before years ago, so I was extremely upset when the results were shit. I scheduled another appointment to get it fixed and I was not on the schedule and was told I had to get it re-done by the same person that messed it up in the first place. OK let me tell you why this place is horrible .. I had appt with the owner because the reviews were good, so I read. I get there and he's not there.. but another stylist says "Martin told me about you and I can do your hair." I asked her what her experience was and she said years and years of experience so I said ok... I came in blonde and told her I wanted platinum blonde highlights and my roots done because they were coming in about 2inches. She did the highlights with foil and everything seemed good, and then she did the roots. It looked dark but she said it's supposed to look that way.. I'm not a stylist so I said ok.. mind you we had a whole conversation about how I hate dark hair because it makes me look older. So 2hrs later she washes my hair and starts to take the foil off... and silence! I knew something was wrong.. she leaves comes back with a color bowl.. and starts putting it all through my hair and tells me it has neutralizer in it.. I said not color.. she said no! Then she leaves it on for 25 mins and it starts burning my eyes.. I tell her this and she starts to wash it out. An employees walks in and says it gonna be ok to me ...I started to panic.. she starts to tell me it looks darker wet so wait til she drys it... I say, "But it not darker than when I came in, right?" She said right. I breathed.. then 15 mins later i go to the seat where there is a mirror... I'm frozen. The owner, the one who was supposed to do my hair, started drying my hair wth the girl and asked me how's my day, do I like my hair.. I said NO! IT'S HORRIBLE! IT'S BROWN ITS DARK I ASKED FOR BLONDE HIGHLIGHTS WHICH ARE NOW GONE BECAUSE SHE RECOLORED THE ENTIRE HAIR WITH ASH BROWN OVER THE HIGHLIGHTS! I figure out this is because she used the wrong color on the roots! Then I said can you fix it? He said No!I couldn't believe it.. I left in tears. I have the most ugly hair color, it really makes me sad that just anyone can do this to people. I was gonna pay $160 for this. I was so upset! So do not trust this place, seriously .. the stylist then had the nerve to tell the owner i asked for ash color.. unbelievable.. you've been warned! I owned a small business for 15yrs and I have ever seen such a horrible owner response. Do not trust Graciela, I asked her for a dark plum color and I came out with neon magenta color and uneven hair color. She told me it was the base and would later add tint. When I saw myself in the mirror for the first time with my glasses I saw that my hair was not the color that I asked her. I have locks of hair that were white and after talking to the owner (Martin) about what she did to my hair did he say to come back and will add color. They told that they would do it as I asked Graciela originally. My roots were the color that I asked but the rest of my hair was pink. Never have I ever felt so bad about my image that I resulted in trying to hide my hair. Graciela left me alone with bleach on my hair for 5 straight hours in the chair, never stopped to ask me if I wanted water. Martin would rather lose customers than correct his colorist wrongdoing. read more

I got a new phone and lost my usual stylist number, and I was in need of getting my hair done. I came on Yelp and message a few businesses. Out of a few of the businesses that replied I decided to go with Posh Salon. They were able to fit me in at the time I needed. I got there and I was immediately greeted by the owner. He was super nice and welcoming. I showed him a picture of the new do' I wanted and he let me know that it might not be able to come out exactly as the photo without damaging my hair but he would get as close as possible (to his defense I was trying to go platinum blonde. He began the process and I'm not going to lie I was a bit nervous, I had been with my last stylist for over 4 yrs. So having someone new do your hair can be nerve wrecking Martin (the owner) made me feel comfortable and carried on great conversation. The whole vibe of the salon was great. I would like to first say that it's true--Oskar is brilliant with hair cuts. But I'm finding someone else because when there was a mistake in their schedule and someone accidentally cancelled the appointment, there was really unforgettable rudeness on his part. Yes, he was suddenly overbooked and I get the frustration. But that was no excuse for the pulling, total silence and words that were something like 'if you want it to look good, put up with it' (a loose interpretation from Spanish to English). Honestly, My review would have been better a few weeks ago. I went in with my wife in October and Martin cut her hair. It was pretty long, past her shoulders, and she was tired of it so she went on to read reviews and came across this place. Martin, the owner, answered the phone, seemed excited and asked us to come in. He did great, and he only charged her $15. WOW! Great Right?! We tipped him $10 and paid in cash... Boy do I regret that! We go in a month later, right before Thanksgiving. We were told Martin would be there in the early afternoon so that's when we returned. He wasn't there, no problem. The guy there seemed nice and competent. And we were right. I went home and checked my account, as I do all the time and noticed that posh salon had charged me $50. WHAT???? FOR WHAT???!! HER HAIR WAS SHORTER THAN IT WAS BEFORE! THE CUT TOOK 20-25 MINUTES!! I thought I was double charged... so I told my bank. I was texted by someone at the salon, and I explained to them, and I was told that they told me how much before the cut (THEY'RE LIARS) and they hope I get what's coming to me... and that they'd NEVER charge $15 dollars for a cut (AGAIN FLAT OUT LIARS) I'm bummed my wife can't go back there... they're... competent. and that's hard to find. I came during the weekend to get a trim, curtain bangs and layers in the front to frame my face. My hair was cut by a 5'2 blonde girl wearing 6 inch heels. I got along very nicely with her she seemed like she knew what she was doing, she washed my hair, cut it, and curled it even though I wanted a blowout. I was fine with it since it looked really nice. After I'm out running errands all day I get home and fall asleep, the next day I wash my hair and mind you my hair is very straight, so if someone cuts my hair badly it's not hard to notice. Literally, my hair looked questionable. Almost as if a toddler had cut it. Layers look alright, bangs certainly do not. She cut about 6 inches of my hair length and did a bad job at the curtain bangs. The ones on the right are far longer than the ones on the left and she also cut more of my hair on one side than the other. I showed her a video and pictures of what I wanted and she still managed to mess up. I believe if hairstylist don't think they can do the job they should speak up, rather than ruin someone's hair. Definitely not alright, and definitely not worth 40$. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the manage was nice enough to give me a refund. read more

Horrible service and time management. Melissa was very slow and kept me for 5+ hours when it usually takes about 3 hours at most at other places and by the end charged more than the estimated price! Was kept at the sink, not knowing what's going on for a good 10 minutes, she came back with more hair dye which burned my eyes and smelled very strong- twice, after she'd already dyed it. When asked what she was doing, she responded, it's going to look so good. Along with other customers, they need to communicate better. I don't recommend this place. read more
