I'm not sure what's going with them, but I have found it very difficult to get them to even answer the phone or return calls. I've been trying to reach them about getting my contact lens prescription right. That's a whole other story but I won't digress. Their original contact fitter left and didn't leave any notes, and Natalie, the lady I have been working with, isn't permanent. Many thoughts so I will summarize:…read more PRIMARILY: DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!!! The doctors may be good but everything else is a train wreck. At the suggestion of the doctor's surgical coordinator I changed my health insurance, not an easy process, to allow "In Network" care. After a few visits preparing for Cataract surgery I was told I needed a referral from a PCP. Yes, that is common but I discussed with the same surgical coordinator and then it became an issue. More exams...eye measurements, pre op, paperwork, upgraded laser payment, etc...and I had a PCP provide a referral. The original surgery date had been rescheduled due to the insurance issue partly to blame on the surgical coordinator. After confirming a final appointment with the practice prior to surgery the surgical coordinator informed me by phone, the day before, that all that was necessary was to resign the paperwork. On the day of the appointment I arrived at the designated appointment time, checked in, and waited to be called. Thirty five minutes later I asked the front desk the status. At that point they physically took my chart to "the back" to see what was happening. Another ten minutes passed and I asked again as to the status of my appointment to sign papers. A tech arrived and the first words were "Can we reschedule for four days in the future". The surgery was scheduled for nine days from the that day. I informed her that I would be out of town until the day before surgery. I asked to speak to the Practice Manager. I was summoned to her office and asked her what was happening with my appointment. She stated she did not know. I asked how she could not know after four staff members had been involved. She had no explanation. I CANNOT trust my vision to a doctor's practice that does "NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING". Concerned, I immediately asked to cancel the procedure after five visits requiring approximately four hours of my in office time not to mention commute time, insurance time, and waiting time. When I requested a refund of the $2100.00 that I prepaid for the upgraded laser for the procedure. The Practice Manager stated it was not available. I left the office. When I reached my vehicle the surgical coordinator called and asked for me to return. The surgical coordinator claimed the issue that day was due to insurance. Everything was in order per the phone call surgical coordinator the prior day explicitly confirming all insurance was filed, confirming coverage, and stated that signing updated information was all that was needed. I informed the surgical coordinator that I cannot trust the doctor's practice given the MANY issues. Procedure cancelled. DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!!!

All the equipment is really fancy and high-tech, and the nurses and doctors are very nice and knowledgable. The actual surgery takes about 5-10 minutes, and isn't painful. It's a little weird having you eyes propped open like on Clockwork Orange, but what ya gonna do... My initial surgery was 8 months ago, and they totally give you a parting gift when you leave. Mine was a folding chair with a beer holder. Sweet. I just had an enhancement. Many people have to get this. Basically I went in and had my right eye done again. This is all included in the price. Each time they also give you a package with some eye drops (Rx and regular), sexy goggles to protect your eyes and sunglasses. With a student discount, it was $1500 an eye. I'm kinda frugal, but they are my eyeballs, you know? They do have payment plans where you can pay it off in one year with no interest. Oh, I used Dr. Randelman, but I'm sure they're all good.

Well, $15,000 out of pocket and I am back to wearing glasses full time. Even worse is that prior to my surgery, I didn't need reading glasses. Now I can't even see the food on my plate when I eat! I have to wear prescription sunglasses during the day and regular glasses at night and when it's raining. The glare and halos at night make my driving scary and dangerous. I knew that with only 2 star reviews that I should have chosen another ophthalmologist but Dr. Cohen had a pretty strong sales pitch and I took the bait. We saw a video and how the surgery will be performed. He explained about the healing process and how to apply eye drops and also about the restrictions after the operation. After the consultation we met with the insurance lady who explained about the insurance process and gave us some paperwork. Each person at this office was very pleasant and professional. We were very happy about this location because it's conveniently located close to our home. When it came time for the follow up visit, after the first eye operation, we were able to get an appointment for the next day after the surgery at this location with a different doctor. That was fine too. However, after the second eye surgery, our appointment at this location was cancelled. Reason was that there was no doctor available at this office. So, we had to drive far to another Woolfson office located at a very congested area in Atlanta. Again, the staff was nice. But we do not want to go back to that location because of the construction work going on nearby. The saga continues! We were able to schedule the next follow up appointment in Canton, GA. That was nice because we saw Doctor Paven Korotana who was at the Atlanta location. She was very nice and informative. Hopefully she will be at the Canton location for the next follow up visit.
