I originally contacted the office to question the balance due and learned that the insurance company did not pay, however after speaking with one of the staff members, I was told he would see if the charge could be removed and would contact me in 24 no more than 48 hours (no response). A week later, I received a notice that the balance would go to collections on a certain date, so I immediately contacted the office once again and requested to speak with the office manager (no response) specially stating . I never received a call from the first staff member and I DID not want the balance placed in collections and if that would be the result of it, I will just pay the bill regardless of what he advised me of originally. A few days later, I received a call from the same originally gentlemen, which stated after speaking with the doctors they decided to remove the charge and explained the next time if pictures are required, I would be responsible (okay fair enough). Upon receiving my mail to learn they sent the balance over to collections after stating the charge would be removed and I am highly upset due to the fact this eye centers business office staff members to do not return promised phone calls nor do they follow up within the time frame specifically stated and the worse part of this whole situation sending my account over to collection and the ONLY way I could put it is, totally deceptive on there point to the point I strongly feel I need to find another eye center, due to the lack of being totally incompetent when it involve a patient's account. At this point, I don't know who the office manager is, because I still have not received a call back from the office when this whole issue started from the very beginning, which is mind blowing when you ask to speak with an office manager regardless someone should respond (but again NO one wants to work these days). I really don't know what's wrong with the health care system these days nor some of the people employed, it honestly appears some just don't want to work, but at the end of the day expect a pay check, because clearly this should not have happen.

Many thoughts so I will summarize:…read more PRIMARILY: DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!!! The doctors may be good but everything else is a train wreck. At the suggestion of the doctor's surgical coordinator I changed my health insurance, not an easy process, to allow "In Network" care. After a few visits preparing for Cataract surgery I was told I needed a referral from a PCP. Yes, that is common but I discussed with the same surgical coordinator and then it became an issue. More exams...eye measurements, pre op, paperwork, upgraded laser payment, etc...and I had a PCP provide a referral. The original surgery date had been rescheduled due to the insurance issue partly to blame on the surgical coordinator. After confirming a final appointment with the practice prior to surgery the surgical coordinator informed me by phone, the day before, that all that was necessary was to resign the paperwork. On the day of the appointment I arrived at the designated appointment time, checked in, and waited to be called. Thirty five minutes later I asked the front desk the status. At that point they physically took my chart to "the back" to see what was happening. Another ten minutes passed and I asked again as to the status of my appointment to sign papers. A tech arrived and the first words were "Can we reschedule for four days in the future". The surgery was scheduled for nine days from the that day. I informed her that I would be out of town until the day before surgery. I asked to speak to the Practice Manager. I was summoned to her office and asked her what was happening with my appointment. She stated she did not know. I asked how she could not know after four staff members had been involved. She had no explanation. I CANNOT trust my vision to a doctor's practice that does "NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING". Concerned, I immediately asked to cancel the procedure after five visits requiring approximately four hours of my in office time not to mention commute time, insurance time, and waiting time. When I requested a refund of the $2100.00 that I prepaid for the upgraded laser for the procedure. The Practice Manager stated it was not available. I left the office. When I reached my vehicle the surgical coordinator called and asked for me to return. The surgical coordinator claimed the issue that day was due to insurance. Everything was in order per the phone call surgical coordinator the prior day explicitly confirming all insurance was filed, confirming coverage, and stated that signing updated information was all that was needed. I informed the surgical coordinator that I cannot trust the doctor's practice given the MANY issues. Procedure cancelled. DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!!!

All the equipment is really fancy and high-tech, and the nurses and doctors are very nice and knowledgable. The actual surgery takes about 5-10 minutes, and isn't painful. It's a little weird having you eyes propped open like on Clockwork Orange, but what ya gonna do... My initial surgery was 8 months ago, and they totally give you a parting gift when you leave. Mine was a folding chair with a beer holder. Sweet. I just had an enhancement. Many people have to get this. Basically I went in and had my right eye done again. This is all included in the price. Each time they also give you a package with some eye drops (Rx and regular), sexy goggles to protect your eyes and sunglasses. With a student discount, it was $1500 an eye. I'm kinda frugal, but they are my eyeballs, you know? They do have payment plans where you can pay it off in one year with no interest. Oh, I used Dr. Randelman, but I'm sure they're all good.

I have to wear prescription sunglasses during the day and regular glasses at night and when it's raining. The glare and halos at night make my driving scary and dangerous. I knew that with only 2 star reviews that I should have chosen another ophthalmologist but Dr. Cohen had a pretty strong sales pitch and I took the bait. Listen to the reviews and make your choice wisely. I had such high hopes of being glasses free for the firts time since i was 9 years old.

She argued with me about anything that any other doctor has told me about my condition. She basically told me that I was on my own as far as seeking recommendations for a specialist for an eye condition that I have been diagnosed with through testing. We saw a video and how the surgery will be performed. He explained about the healing process and how to apply eye drops and also about the restrictions after the operation. After the consultation we met with the insurance lady who explained about the insurance process and gave us some paperwork. Each person at this office was very pleasant and professional. We were very happy about this location because it's conveniently located close to our home. When it came time for the follow up visit, after the first eye operation, we were able to get an appointment for the next day after the surgery at this location with a different doctor. That was fine too. However, after the second eye surgery, our appointment at this location was cancelled. Reason was that there was no doctor available at this office. So, we had to drive far to another Woolfson office located at a very congested area in Atlanta. Again, the staff was nice. But we do not want to go back to that location because of the construction work going on nearby. The saga continues! We were able to schedule the next follow up appointment in Canton, GA.
