Waited 15/20+min to try and drop off a fedex package. One guy working, with two people in front of me. Takes about 5 min to complete a package for some lady. Then another lady in front of me had a notary, didn't know that takes 8-10min. Then instead of servicing me next has the audacity to answer the phone and service another person on the phone which to I was left waiting again. I left the store right in front of him. He never asked what we needed while waiting or a thank you for waiting. My drop off would have taken less than 30 seconds. 3 other people were waiting behind me. This place needs a reality check. 1st they need to hire two people for the range of services they offer. #2 educate workers that when people are waiting "do not answer the phone and service them over physical people who have been waiting". I wholeheartedly disagree with the negative reviews at this postal annex. I have been to three places to get my passport processed as they claim online that they did have this service. When I got to these three locations, they only did photos. It was not explained very well on their site. I reluctantly went to the postal annex on La Costa, even though I saw a couple of negative reviews I had to give a try. It was the best experience that I have had. She was able to work with me and four other's that were shipping with ease. She is totally customer service oriented, and very thorough in all of the paperwork she was processing for me. I highly recommend this postal annex. It is conveniently located and the staff is very friendly. She explained everything about my PO Box and they even send emails when packages arrive. This experience was from May 2021 at the location off La Costa Ave and El Camino. Wow never in my life have I dealt with such condescension and rudeness. I came to drop off my FedEx Smartpost package. I told the lady with black hair I had a FedEx to drop off and as she starts to scan the other lady with grey blonde hair notices it's a FedEx Smartpost and loudly says "We don't get paid for those" and instead of giving me a confirmation receipt she tosses it in this small cubby near the floor and points at this sign on the ceiling and says this is where you drop off post office packages. And as I try to explain to her it's FedEx, she keeps cutting me off and says NO it's shipped by usps. Without letting me explain she keeps trying to convince me it goes to the post office. She grabs my package and points at the label and says "Can you read? It says USPS." The other lady proceeds to try and convince me saying FedEx has a deal with usps but usps ships it so it goes to usps. I was so shocked with the way they were coming at me, so I left. But before I drove away I looked on my phone for proof of what I was talking about. I came back in to show her the actual instructions to make sure that FedEx scans it, and FedEx will proceed to give it to usps and I tried to show her the instructions, but she wouldn't even look at it. And again they both try to convince me that I'm wrong and barely let's me explain. I say it specifically says drop off at FedEx or FedEx authorized ship center NOT usps. And they laugh at me saying, once again "Can you read the sign? we ARE a FedEx authorized place" and "We've been doing this for 30yrs I think we know what we're doing". At the end I was just so baffled I didn't feel comfortable leaving my package so I took it and left. DO NOT TRUST them with your packages, especially FedEx smartpost. For FedEx Smart-post, FedEx will scan and they will handoff to usps. They apparently refuse to understand this. Do yourself a favor and go to the FedEx off of Faraday and the UPS off Aviara, to insure your packages are shipped correctly. I would never trust this place with sending any mail or packages. Even with their "30yrs experience" maybe they need to educate themselves with new mailing services. I have never dealt with a more condescending lady in my life. Every time i go into this location she has something to say. Ive dealt with her attitude too many times. Not to mention she over charges you. A simple shipping label which i already purchased i needed to print it out was going to cost me $2.50. This is the second time I have used PostalAnnex. Both times I have had issues getting my package where it needs to go because the address isn't valid with the delivery service (Fedx or DHL). They should know that they don't ship to PO Boxes before charging me $100 to ship something and then pay more to change the address later on. Also, yesterday I went to ship something and another customer asked a question so the cashier women turned around and answered her. Then told me that "she was more important than me" (another customer). I was waiting patiently and didn't even care about the exchange until she made that comment. She saw my face and then apologized and tried to say that it was an uncalled for comment. Who tells another customer who was just charged over $70 that they are less important and expected to be cut off when needed? I will NEVER go to any location again. A small postal shop where you can send USPS, UPS or Fedex packages. This store is conveniently located at the corner of El Camino Real and La Costa in the same shopping center as Starbucks and Albertsons. It's a little store with a bit much clutter for me but behind all the knick knacks they sell here, they get the job done. I mailed 6 boxes of golf balls to my Dad a few days ago and the gals helping me were really sweet. Since the post office is right down the street, I never send anything USPS here but if I need UPS or Fedex and need assistance packaging it, this is where I tend to go. I went to return something via FedEx here yesterday. I *thought* I had done a good job of applying the label and taping it all together. I hadn't. Turns out, as the very nice woman explained, Scotch tape will not keep its adhesive in shipment, and my label was wrong. She patiently took apart the packaging, and we found the shipping label email on my phone and sent it to her inbox where she printed it and put it all together. No charge. Just excellent support. Omg. It's a wonderland of stuff! I came in here to get something notarized, which they do and charge 15$ per sig. Not bad. I usually pay 10$ in Del Mar but no biggie. They were very friendly. This place reminds me of Leaping Lotus on Cedros. They have everything in here. If you need a gift, come here. Knick Knacks galore and not just crap. Really nice stuff. He said he was dropping off a package and she said that she wasn't capable of handling our package and said something along the lines of that they aren't equipped to handle shipping. I am so grateful for employee Joselin, who is not only warm, cheerful and ready to serve, but goes WAY beyond typical service and hospitality. This postal annex went above and beyond for me. I had gotten scammed from a buyer and needed to reroute my package so the person that scammed didn't receive the package. Horrendous! They will not get your mail if you forget your mail key. They will however continue to stuff your mailbox with other people's mail. They will not notify you of a package arrival. They will speak rudely to you that packages need to be picked up on a timely basis. The store itself is crowded and cramped and a bit difficult to navigate. read more

I stopped using this postal annex because of how much they overcharge, but decided to come back because of the convenience of the location. I immediately regret that decision. The staff is so incredibly rude. Today I popped in to drop some thing off for UPS that was ready to go. The lady working was helping another customer so I asked very politely if I could just leave it and go since I don't need a receipt. She answered rudely that she was with a customer and I should wait at the other counter. I asked again if I could just drop and go and she refused to answer a simple yes or no. I politely said I would come back in a minute, since I also had to drop off dry cleaning next-door. She then began talking negatively about me to the customer before I even was out of door! I normally don't want to write a bad review that might hurt peoples livelihood, but this is a pattern with this store that simply needs to stop. I'm not sure about the other 1-star reviews but I had a very good experience... I was greeted kindly and the lady said she would be right with me. A few seconds later, I gave her a FedEx overnight pre-paid envelop and she let me know that FedEx had just picked up the mail (at 4pm) and I just missed it. She let me know it wouldn't arrive until the following Monday if I left it with her but another location, nearby in Encinitas, might have a later dropoff time. She looked up the number and I called, confirming their last pickup time to be 5pm. I was able to get there in time to get my envelop sent off to its destination by the next day, thanks to this lady's effort. I greatly appreciated it! Had the same experience as Theresa D on a few separate occasions, with the same worker. Every time I go in there I feel like I am an inconvenience and her goal is just to get me to leave. She seemed uncomfortable with me just being in there. I wanted to send a package of some fragile items and included a box. She told me I couldnt use that box. Then I asked about the price and she told me a 6 day delivery would be $43. A few days later I took the same package to the Bressi ranch Postal Annex location. Josie was super helpful, asked if I minded recycling the same box I took to the other place, and then asked if her wrapping job was ok before closing it up. and the total for a 3 day delivery was $18! Don't use this location, drive 5 extra minutes to Bressi Ranch instead. read more

I went to the PostalAnnex on El Camino in Carlsbad to have 11 x 17 copies made. I was told by an employee that they'd be .45 per copy and I accepted that, although high. There were a lot of pages. The manager came in after lunch and said "Oh those are $1.50 per copy????? I told her to put a Kabash on the print job. The manager said she'd give me a break and only charge $1.25 per copy for what was already done. Most PostalAnnex charge 40 cents per copy even less at FedEx so I was shocked at this price. I dropped off my package Fedex Smartpost at this Postal Annex shop, and my package was missing, never reach my customer. I don't know what the heck they do with my package. When I try to explain that the package was Fedex Smartpost which has the USPS tracking no. on it, they just told me that probably they give it to the wrong carrier. Instead of giving the Fedex, they give it to USPS instead. I lost my $200 package and waste a lot of time to go back and forth to find out what is going on. The woman with the black hair was nice to give my son a toy to play with but as he was playing with it the older grey/blonde woman who looked like the store manager or owner took it away from him and said "I want it back before he ruins it so I can resell it!" I went in the get a passport photo. I even called ahead right before I left my house to make sure that they provided that service. When I went in I asked for a passport photo. The lady with the black hair, I believe her name was Jocelyn, helped me. She asked if I had my paperwork, which I did. She looked it over which I thought was strange. When she was done she told me that the total was $85. I asked her why she was charging me that astronomical price. She said for passport service. I told her that I only asked for a photo and I refused to pay that amount. She took off $23.60 for labor and then told me it was $66.39. I was still so mad. She said the remainder was $18.99 + tax for the photo and $45.93 for the USPS priority Mail Express envelope. I had my kids with me and just needed to get out of there so I paid and left. When I went to the Post Office to mail the envelope I asked how much they would have charged and it was $23. Postal Annex marked up the post office price by almost 100%!!! In addition, she had a line of people waiting and did not even acknowledge them. 2 customers backed me up and felt really bad. I wouldn't be surprised if they left after I did. I will never go back again. And a word of advice, if you need to mail something via USPS, Fed-Ex or UPS, go directly to them!!! read more

If I could rate this 0 stars even that would not be good enough. Jocelyn with the black hair is the rudest employee i have ever met. She acts like every single customer is an inconvenience and is rude. I came to drop off my packages and she informed me to go to the post office down the street because "there was no room for my packages" I had already set them down on the counter while she was working with one patron. I did not interrupt her while she was working with the customer, once I left I realized 1 box was a ups box and called her to make sure ups would pick it up. She told me that she would call me back because the line was too long. I called at 4:00 to politely ask her if she pulled the box for ups, she told me that the mail person had done it and when I asked her if all my boxes were picked up today she said she didn't know because she didn't see the postal person. I tried to be polite as possible while she was yelling at me on the phone and telling me I had interrupted her with her one paying customer and yelling at me her "version" of what happened which was untrue. And than I yelled at her telling her the truth about me dropping off 8 packages And then she hung up on me. I hope my packages get to their destination. If they do not reach their destination I expect to be totally refunded or I will take the owner to small claims court. Jocelyn should be fired she has no business working with the public, and hopefully Vicki the owner will send Jocelyn to anger management classes. She should not be working at customer service. I will never step foot in that store again. After reading others reveiws giving the store a 1 star rating and sharing their unpleasant encounters with Jocelyn it might be worth driving to Encinitas where they have a 4 star rating And the employees are nice. read more
