I went in today to send a simple package to the United Kingdom. The man in the store seemed really confused, saying that he had had difficulty sending packages to the address before. Then he looked at the address and seemed to not understand what to do. I was a long term customer of the owner from some years ago. The store smelt of curry and was disorganized. Such nice people and honest. I usually go to Mail Mania but I was near a place in Del Mar so went in to mail a package and they told me cheapest would be $55 with USPS. I said no thank you and took it to Mail Mania where the same package was $34 USPS. I love this little shop and appreciate the owners. read more

The markup on fedex is astronimical. I was quoted $100 to send an envelope overnight and that they had a "small markup", not more than $5. I went out to my car, opened the fedex app, and the same lable was $60. They are helpful but the markup to ship things is really unacceptable. read more

A good place to make it your usual! They have great service, friendly, respect COVID19 rules, and very responsive. I am new in San Diego and came across this store through yelp as the closest option. I had to get my scholarship application sent out to WA urgently and got it done quickly during this pandemic. The woman made me feel comfortable when she compared and looked at the most reasonable and reliable way of sending my package. Missing Linda and Marty so much! They were knowledgeable, friendly, often had small gifts for my kids when we visited. The new owners don't seem to know what they're doing. I spent 30 minutes trying to explain that I needed to send something via certified mail and felt the cashier was dissuading me intentionally to spend more money on a different service. I also had a mailbox here which they just sent me an abrupt cancellation notice for. In all the pandemic panic, I'd forgotten about the renewal date. I attempted to speak with them about it, they claim they sent multiple emails (none!) and told me to come in and pay or submit payment over the phone. Disappointed to see customer service and neighborly attitude has gone with the past owners. read more

I have never had a bad thing to say about this place. There used to be a lady here with glasses and purple hair, she rocked, she knew her stuff and spoke very well. Now there seems to be a new owner who doesn't know how to work their system and can't understand English well which makes it extremely painful to try and give accurate information for shipping. I probably spent 20 minutes there trying to send to an APO and she told me I had the address wrong... went over to Postal Annex and didn't have a problem... it's worth driving over to the Vons plaza and avoiding this place. read more

Linda and Marty are great! I live in La Costa and I drive to Solana Beach whenever I have any shipping needs even though there is a Postal Annex less than a mile from my home. They are helpful and always try to get you the best rate. I often find that there are regulars who pop in just to say hi. Great little place! Friendly, well stocked, never too busy. Got that Mom'n'Pop feel about it. USPS, FedEx, DHL... not sure about UPS though. They've got every packing/shipping supply imaginable, do passport pictures, notarize, have PO boxes, and (I love reading their) random birthday cards, heh. I have been a customer and mail box renter for 10 years. The previous owner, Marty and his employee Linda made this place fun. They ran it very efficiently too. I was just told by the current owner that I needed to go to the post office to have my mail forwarded to my new location. I tried to explain that USPS doesn't forward from a commercial mail service, ever. I visited the PO in Encinitas and spoke with the supervisor today. Any mail that comes after my box expires has to be forwarded by Mail Mania. The owner refuses to listen or learn. Unfortunately any mail that slips through will be sent back to sender. I'm sure this had been a difficult year for a new business but pretending you know everything and being very rude is unacceptable. Good luck.....you'll be out of business soon. read more

Just left this location. I use them intermittently as my office is close by. Was very unhappy as I made it clear I needed to get back to work and asked if I could drop off a FedEx item and a receipt but the service person refused even though the client who he was helping with a notarization said it was OK. I didn't get his name but he was rigid, inflexible and unfriendly. read more

I live in Leucadia and was in the area and needed to send a package out. I wish I got the lady's name, but she was so friendly and helpful! She made everything easy and quick but I was in no rush since she was so cool! I even thought that I forgot my wallet and she was willing to send my package anyway since it had been processed already. Luckily I figured it out and was able to pay for it. I definitely recommend this place and would even drive there in the future to mail my packages. :-) read more
