Cute little place inside Biltmore Hotel, (to my surprise the parking is not free anymore) love it , the sweets, coffees and their ice cream is really good . We had the dulce de leche and the coconut flavor, delicious and a good portion. Will try the sandwiches next time.

He introduced me to their regular strained yogurt that is flown in from Greece, and also helped me with sampling the soft-serve varieties. I have to say that the hazelnut regular yogurt is fantastic! It tastes just like the inside of a Kinder Bueno. I also tried this special collab with caviar and a blini over plain yogurt drizzled with honey, it was really good. All soft-serves are great and you can add your own toppings at the toppings bar. It's a small place but there is barstool seating inside, and tables & chairs outside.

I loved the topping bar; there's a lot of healthy options to chose from. I decided to add granola, raspberries, white chocolate chips and chia seeds. The froyo was sweet but refreshing all at once. I will say that I didn't realize that there were other toppings that you can drizzle on top. I wish I knew because I would've added a drizzle of one of the sauces/syrups they had. The froyo was about $1.39 per ounce from what I can remember. It ended up being about $26, which I can think can be a bit on the pricier side but it was lowkey worth it. Heads up, parking can be tricky, you can try to find street parking or park in the lot across the street. There is also a parking garage a block or so down.

Another awesome experience at Salt and Straw. This conveniently located Coral Gables ice cream…read moreshop is simply perfect. The creamy ice cream a variety of flavor is including an option for my puppy simply makes for a perfect experience every time I stop by. Personally, I could go for the Chocolate Gooey, Brownie, and the Panther Coffee Chocolate Tres Leches every time and still think I had found ice cream heaven but I find it often necessary to go a script and try some of the other wonderful flavors, including the monthly specials. Sadly my dog is indifferent about the pup cup. Sometimes she's a huge fan and others she will turn her nose up to it. But never fear, the accommodating and wonderful staff is always willing to come through with a little dish of whipped cream that she will wolf down in seconds. Did I mention that that whipped cream is as good as homemade? When it lacks the old school ice cream shop, vibe and seems more touristy then I would like, it is still attractive and pleasant to be at in. The service is just so darn good that it matches the excellence of the product. Love it here and it's a must stop venue every time I am walking around in the Grove.

I went in already knowing what I wanted, and the chocolate brownie ice cream did not disappoint at all. It was rich, creamy, and full of deep chocolate flavor with great brownie pieces throughout -- definitely lived up to the hype. The only reason I'm knocking off one star is the service. The person assisting us seemed like they didn't really want to be there and was a bit distracted chatting with coworkers instead of being engaged with customers. That said, the ice cream itself was excellent and worth the visit. I'd absolutely come back again, hopefully with a better service experience next time.

I have a serious nut allergy, and at most ice cream shops, employees are willing to take reasonable precautions, such as using a clean scoop and serving from a fresh container in the back to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. When we explained my allergy, the employee quickly told us that she could not accommodate it and immediately returned to watching the FIFA game on a laptop. Two young employees were working at the time, and despite there being only one other customer waiting, they seemed distracted, rushed, and more focused on the game than assisting us. I completely understand that a business may not be able to guarantee an allergen-free environment, but the lack of concern, explanation, or effort to assist was extremely disappointing. We left without ordering.

Val took my order and was incredibly kind, offering me several flavors to try. She almost convinced me to switch to the Irish Coffee flavor, but in the end I stayed loyal to my original choice: Caramel Cone, and it did not disappoint! One of the best parts of this location is the terrace seating, perfect for enjoying the beautiful outgoing yet relaxed vibe that Coral Gables has to offer. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to whenever I'm in the mood for some refreshing ice cream and a little moment to unwind.

After losing his job, Michel Romeu entered the ice cream market in 2016 by making small batches of…read moreartisan ice cream. He named the business after his daughter, Melody. Sweet Melody makes all of their ice cream from scratch as well as any baked goods that go into it and toppings. They don't use any artificial colors or flavors. The 16 percent butterfat ice cream is made without egg yolks and can be described as having a rich and dense texture. An egg yolk French base is used for flavors like creme brûlée, key lime pie, and brownie batter. They offer creative signature, weekly, and seasonal flavors. I have enjoyed Sweet Melody ice cream at the Citadel in Little Haiti and at their Kendall location. I was really looking forward to coming to the Coral Gables shop which opened in October of 2022. Interestingly this location didn't open until 5PM. In any case the timing worked out perfectly for us and there is even free parking in the lot behind the store. We were the first ones in Sweet Melody's as they were turning on the lights and by the time we left, there was a crowd behind us. I wanted to visit this location because they have more of a variety of scoops rather than just selling the $12 pints. A single scoop of ice cream is $6.50. After a taste test I decided on the Strawberry Pop Tart but the Krispy Treatz was a close second. The Strawberry Pop Tart is a vanilla ice cream with homemade strawberry pop tarts. I really enjoyed the large chunks of flaky pastry filled with strawberry jam throughout the ice cream. I really wanted my ice cream in a waffle cone but was told that it would be an hour before the machine heated up to make the waffle cones! While I enjoyed my ice cream in a cup my friend bought a few of their pints to go. I ended up getting the Berry White pint along with her haul. Unfortunately my pint had none of the promised raspberry swirl. Sweet Melody's tastes like a care free summer. I love how they generally get the ice cream to mix in ratio just right for my taste. I like a little ice cream holding my sweet treats together. I wish they had all of the pint flavors available as scoops but no bueno. The June special Pina Colada Cake was really calling my name. I also discovered too late the incredible looking BDAY Cakewich made with cake batter ice cream in between slices of cake. Maybe next time.
