On Sunday night, I craved for a sandwich. Joseph suggested we to go Potbelly. Sure why not? I ordered the vegetarian melt. It came with avocado, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, mushrooms on a wheat bread. I enjoyed eating this sandwich. Joseph requested the BTLA / the Bacon, Tomatoes, lettuce and Avocado sandwich. He said it tasted fine. We did not have to wait long for our sandwiches. The wait time amounted to about 5 minutes. I liked the eclectic decor at Potbelly. It made the place fun to be in. It reminded me of a themed restaurant. We could sit back and relax by admiring the unique decor. read more

Too much pepper on my Tuna Sandwich! I have ordered from Potbelly before but is not the best. I just wanted something different

I ordered almost 250 dollars worth of catering for the teachers for lunch to be delivered at one the day before. At 1:20 I get a call that the order cannot be completed because they do not have a delivery driver. I offer to come pick it up and they tell me it's still going to be 45 minutes before they even have it ready. At this point almost all the teachers lunches are over, but I have no option but to go through them since they alerted me so late that I wouldn't be getting our catering. When arriving 45 mins later, they were scrambling to put the order together still. The lady told the guy putting it together to "take his time" while I have hungry teachers that should have had lunch an hour ago at this point. When I get back, they did not label any of the sandwiches, pretty sure they did not include the veggie sandwiches I had ordered for our vegetarian teachers and did not include bowls for our soup, so we had to use plastic cups we had at our school. I LOVE potbelly and will continue to go to potbelly, but I will not be going to this potbelly anymore. Super disappointed. read more

Staff are rude. I ordered my food at 10:40 and usually you get texts and stuff throughout the order. By 11:30 I called because I received zero texts. The girl answers and gets snarky. The manager (who also is manager at Taco Bell) must not have liked me or the Star of David I was wearing because she put a TON of powdered pepper on my sandwich that it was inedible. I ordered delivery from this Potbelly on Belmont and the sandwiches were big, fresh, and tasty! My mother had the Tuna Salad with double meat, cheddar, mayo, onions, and pickles on multigrain and Enjoyed it So Much! There was just enough Mayo and the bread was still crisp and crunchy. My son had the Turkey with double meat, cheddar, and pickles on multigrain and Loved every bite! He's 8 years old and usually eats pizza, but found this sandwich filling and had the other half the next day (it was still fresh and didn't get soggy or anything!). I tried the Wreck Salad with feta, blue cheese, turkey, ham, salami, roast beef, hard-boiled egg, cucumbers and tomatoes with field greens and it had the perfect balance of meats and cheeses to greens and veggies. We also ordered 2 pickles and loves that they were thoughtfully sliced I tons pears for us, so they were easier to share and eat! Came to this Potbelly at 9:30pm this evening after leaving the gym and was starving. Immediately as I walked in the staff was looking upset as if I disturbed them for coming in 30 minutes before closing time. I asked if they close at 10pm because I wanted to eat my sandwich quickly before going to my car, the lady working there said yes. The gentleman working with the lady proceeded to go to the back and turned off the lights in the dining area... definitely got the message loud and clear. As someone that worked at Potbelly in college, I'm very disappointed with this staff and their actions. We were taught to give great service no matter what time people come in. It's laid out like a typical potbelly's where you order your sandwich, move down the line to get the toppings, and the head to the register. But for some bizarre reason the staff wants you to order your sandwich, then pay, then go back up the line to tell them what to put on the sandwich. The man behind the counter did a of a yelling. Walk the extra mile to go to the Southport location. I've never seen more miserable people in my life on this beautiful Saturday morning in Chicago. It felt as if we were an inconvenience to them by ordering a sandwich and a milkshake, or flavored milk as I say because I've seen water more solid than that milk shake. There were 0 people in line when we ordered however the 20 people that walked in after us were all taken care of before we even paid for ours. Why hasn't anyone forced me to get the Veggie Salad with Asian Sesame dressing before? I am really pissed off that no one told me about this delicious salad. I'm going to interrogate everyone of my friends that eat at Potbelly's. If they knew about this salad dressing and didn't tell me they are in deep shit. The dressing is epic. The croutons are top notch. The salad is loaded with tons of vegetables and they top it off with the cheese of your choice. You can pick between a bunch of different dressings, but I'm telling you stick to the Asian Sesame. I'm actually thinking about rounding up a crew for a late night break in. Went to this location last Friday around 9:00 PM; place was almost empty, the girl handed me my sandwich and I proceeded to the cashier but the young man was busy making a milkshake for someone in a group waiting there; after what seemed an eternity he handed the shake over and rang the group up and in so doing received an order for another shake from someone else in the group so he turns around and starts making it while I wait and wait and wait.. I finally reached over the counter, grabbed a drink cup and poured myself a coke; then came back to stand there waiting. This one is really close to the Belmont stop which is very convenient. Didn't have problems at all in here. It was the first day the cubs were playing in Chicago for the World Series and this place wasn't packed on a Friday afternoon. The line was quick. Got our food in about three min. Potbelly is definitely one of the better sandwich chain in Chicago. They're warm and toasty, homey and cheap. Compared to Subway's quality nowadays they beat them hands down. Most importantly, they have a lot of taste. I mean, I remember what it was like to work at a sandwich place in highschool and college and not give a shit about anything except not getting fired and getting my check. I live near the lake, and I know traffic on Belmont can be slow sometimes but I consistently get my sandwich within 15 minutes every time I order. After the usual 1 hour delivery estimate I get from the Jimmy Johns up the street, Potbelly's service is refreshing! The delivery guys are always nice and are patient with me when I keep closing the door in their face every two seconds to keep my cats in my apt.
