We came for lunch on a Friday. We sat in the back corner below the old kitchen cabinet "art." The lighting was too bright and the room felt cold. We shared the lobster deviled eggs and Brussels sprouts. The deviled eggs were fine but to me the flavor of the lobster is lost in the egg filling. The Brussels sprouts were strange. We had asked other bacon on the side and it came out cold and limp... the sprouts were really greasy and they were topped with a strange tart flavored dressing. They were not enjoyable. My ahi tuna salad was what very different from what I am used to tasting. The dressing was too tart and overpowered the tuna. Three days was also overdressed and way too wet. They're known for their Wrightwood Salad which feels fresh, but what has truly stood out to me so far has been their Bloody Marys and their Thanksgiving Special sandwich (wish they offered this all year). Slightly elevated American comfort food is how our server described and I'd have to agree. While it was simply just ribs and coleslaw, they add a kick that turns it up just a notch without overdoing it. We decided to drop in a try for a table on a Friday night without a reservation. We were excited when they did have a table for two for us! But I would recommend a reservation to guarantee a table. To drink, I ordered a prickly pear margarita on our servers recommendation. It was a very satisfying egg foam and refreshing flavor. To eat, I ordered the nice little house salad with rotisserie chicken added. This was the perfect late night light dinner. The salad has a citrus vinaigrette and the chicken is exceptional. You have to try it in some form when you are there as it's their specialty. It comes with a piece of jalapeño cornbread which I think should be standard with any salad! For dessert, we had an iron skillet cookie. It was gooey, warm and delicious. Definitely a classic dessert that you cannot go wrong with. The food is okay (small portions), the service is average, and the venue is very loud. But the real issue is the 4% "admin fee" tacked onto the bill. They clearly hope customers won't notice. When I asked about it, the waiter claimed it was a credit card fee, even though I hadn't paid yet, and offered to take it off. It's a dishonest practice. Check your receipts! read more

We went for brunch on Saturday early afternoon. There is a cocktail menu along with some specials; but we opted for coffee, water, and a bloody mary. We started with some monkey bread and blueberry cornbread. We ordered avocado toast, eggs benedict and biscuits & sausage gravy. Don't forget to add hashbrowns if not included with your entree - they are fantastic!!! Monkey Bread - similar to bread yeast rolls with carmel on the bottom and some butter on top. Nothing too special. Blueberry cornbread - this was way better than expected. Flaky, full of blueberries, not too sweet, but so tasty. MUST-ORDER ITEM! Eggs Benedict - two halves with full poached eggs on bacon with hollandaise sauce. Hashbrowns comes with. These were super tasty and great! I would choose these again. I tried some of the Biscuits & Sausage Gravy. The biscuit was very dense and dry to me, but the sauage gravy was excellent. Avocado Toast - they use a brioche-type bread, which is excellent and avocado mixed with spices gives it a little kick. It comes with a side salad that looked wonderful, but I didn't try it. The restaurants has tables and booths. Although the chairs are wooden and hard if you are in place for over an hour. There is also a bar area. As for holding a conversation, it wasn't too loud during the afternoon. It was getting quite busy, but we still had no trouble talking amongst our group. Our service started off great. Discussing the menu options and famous dishes, etc. We were served water which is served from a bottle brought over from the bar area. However, we never received a refill on water and ended up grabbing it ourself from the bar. In fact, even our last round of drinks and refills were never brought to us. First it's a cozy, neighborhood restaurant in a nice part of Southport's shopping district. Second they have nice outdoor seating that make a comfortable day great al fresco dining. Third they are a scratch kitchen making even the pasta for dishes right there. We had the spinach artichoke appetizer. It came with some gazpacho like salsa that seemed out of place for this type of dish but the appetizer tasted good. It had a couple small hard bits in it, not sure what they were, I couldn't identify them. We also had the pasta rigatoni. It was great. Sauce had good flavor. We loved the house made rigatoni pasta served al dente. It contained generous amounts of burrata in small bits, almost cottage cheese like in size, that were easy to mix in and consume. It had ground sausage with good taste. I think they could have been more generous with the amount of sausage. It was slightly pricey. Two of us, one appetizer, two pasta dishes, no drinks or desserts, came to $80+. I will probably dine here again. They did make it with Romain lettuce instead of spring mix. Which was my request. It was a nice portion and the vinaigrette was an excellent addition to the salad. Had a spicy margarita, which was ok. We met on a Monday around 12:30 and there was a good sized crowd there. Nice variety of menu. Crosbys kitchen has a large menu that is suitable for almost everyone. They have a lot of seafood on their menu as well. I love most of their apps, especially the lobster deviled eggs and tuna nachos. I haven't found my favorite entree yet. The side of Mac and cheese is also phenomenal. Just tried this place with my daughter and her partner for the first time on Sunday for brunch. The location has a parking lot which is great, and the interior decor is very sleek and sun-filled. The environment feels light and airy. It's quiet enough for engaging in conversation with loved ones, and the best part of course is that the food was delicious. Our server was also very attentive and friendly, took great care of us. I had the chicken dip sandwich which was so juicy and fresh! Kindest staff. I love their rotisserie chicken breast. The meat falls off the bone and is so moist + I ask for all white meat which can sometimes be dry but never at Crosby's. The menu is full of delicious protein and fresh vegetables, everything is also incredibly well priced so you can eat there weekly (like us) and not break the bank. The atmosphere is so lovely, and the staff is kind and always willing to accommodate allergies and work with the kitchen to ensure plates are to each persons liking. My son and I stopped by Crosby's for brunch, but we found out they only serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Honestly, I see a big opportunity here offering brunch during the week could be a hit. On our visit, half of the menu was unfortunately unavailable, so we ended up ordering mostly appetizers. Luckily, our server was fantastic, very attentive and friendly, which made the experience much better. That said, I think management should be more proactive in keeping track of 86'd items. Cute place and good service. We got the filet sliders and meant to ask for the bleu cheese on the side, but we forgot. I don't like bleu cheese and it definitely permeated the whole slider. Even so, the meat itself wasn't out of this world and I do was we tried a different app. The chicken dip was pretty good. I liked the dipping aspect even though it was a little messy. The chicken was SUPER thick so it was very filling, but tasty. The fries were also just alright. We were seated next to an open window and thank god because they cranked the A/C to the point where I was shivering and needed the warm air from outside. Original Review: I tried to order through Uber eats and GrubHub for delivery and the orders would not go through. I ordered through the website and a DoorDash driver was assigned. My food was picked up @645; and the arrival time kept changing. I texted the driver after 30 minutes, no response. Finally I called and he picked up. App malfunctioned and he was on hold with DoorDash customer service. No one let me know of any issues. I finally gave driver my address to deliver my cold food. Very disappointed. Crosbys has great food and I live within a quick delivery zone (under 15 min with traffic), but not sure I would order again through website if DoorDash is the only option. Arrived in a Saturday at 3pm. Place was not busy yet tables were still not cleaned up. When placing our order we were told they stop selling their monkey bread at 3pm ( we missed it by 15 minutes) and that they normally throw the leftover away (very wasteful). I ordered a limoncello spritz which was okay, the cornbread was okay but not very warm, and steak frites to share. When the steak arrived, it was not sliced and very hard to cut. I mentioned this to the waiter and he let us know they don't cut it and that he told them it was for two and they still did not cut it. The fries were also not very fresh. Loved eating here last month on a Saturday with a girlfriend of mine! There was a bit of a wait which was expected, but when we were sat we were glad to get a table against the window. To start- we ordered a bottle of champ with some juices, which was a perfect way to start off brunch. To eat... we decided to share a number of items- we ordered the Monkey Bread, the Lobster Deviled Eggs, the Wrightwood Salad, and the Avocado Toast. Everything was so so good, the salad I could not stop eating! Great toppings, and I'd love to try the brussels salad next time. A little over a month ago my friends and I dined here an hour before closing. We didn't have a great experience. Perhaps we caught them at a bad time. I left a review about my experience and immediately someone got back to me with concerns. They apologized about the experience we had and generously invited us back for another meal. When I tell you this was the most delicious meal I've had in a long time, I'm not kidding. The hash browns are like crack, they're so good. The blueberry cornbread was delicious, as well as the mimosas. The service was phenomenal, everyone was so nice and attentive. I was very impressed by the turn around my experience had. Mistakes happen, not every night is perfect, but they made up for it and that's what matters. Dropped into town and hadn't seen the bestie and her partner in ages and this is their fave. Well we had a blast. The carnivore loved the steak and fries. I'm impressed with this restaurant. I do find it a bit a comical that the best dish I had when I visited for restaurant week was the filet sliders appetizer. Not to say that the rest of the food was good - it was - but the sliders were on another level. I took one home to my husband and he not only agreed with me, we've been back to get just the sliders. Honestly, you can make a quality meal from a variety of the appetizers on the dinner menu. Outside of that love affair, the restaurant is busy, gives off a cozy aesthetic, and looks compact when you're walking around. I sat at the bar, and my service there was very friendly and personable.
