A very solid, consistent American food spot. This is the kind of place I know the service will be friendly and the food will be good. This is the kind of place I take my parents when they come into town. I personally really like the lobster deviled eggs and of course anything including the rotisserie chicken. Good place to stop in while shopping around the area.

Crosby's Kitchen is delicious for any time of the day! They have amazing brunch/lunch/dinner options that you truly can't go wrong with. They're known for their Wrightwood Salad which feels fresh, but what has truly stood out to me so far has been their Bloody Marys and their Thanksgiving Special sandwich (wish they offered this all year). [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a great Midwestern vibe going on inside,[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and [[HIGHLIGHT]]are very organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One thing I will say is their service can be hit or miss (feel like this depends on the server), but their well curated dishes will always have me coming back!

I've only ever had lunch or brunch here, but honestly, I'm always super impressed and satisfied. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It isn't an easy place to go with his friend or family and they have lovely outdoor seating that allows for dogs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The blueberry cornbread is one of my favorites in the city and I always get it. They have good breakfast. I found this, but my favorite things are the wrightwood salad and the chicken dip. It's just a super reliable place in Southport and a really meal! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Big fan of that patio![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Slightly elevated American comfort food is how our server described and I'd have to agree. While it was simply just ribs and coleslaw, they add a kick that turns it up just a notch without overdoing it. The portion size was great, just enough food to clear the plate without feeling stuffed. Service was quick and friendly, pleasantries from every employee in our path. I thankfully made a reservation, even on a Monday night, Crosbys seems to be one of the popular Southport spots for dinner.

We decided to drop in a try for a table on a Friday night without a reservation. We were excited when they did have a table for two for us! But I would recommend a reservation to guarantee a table. To drink, I ordered a prickly pear margarita on our servers recommendation. It was a very satisfying egg foam and refreshing flavor. To eat, I ordered the nice little house salad with rotisserie chicken added. This was the perfect late night light dinner. The salad has a citrus vinaigrette and the chicken is exceptional. You have to try it in some form when you are there as it's their specialty. It comes with a piece of jalapeño cornbread which I think should be standard with any salad! For dessert, we had an iron skillet cookie. It was gooey, warm and delicious. Definitely a classic dessert that you cannot go wrong with. This is a great neighborhood spot for high quality food and well crafted classics.

3.5 - the service was great! Our server was super kind and provided great service. The inside is very cozy and warm. Decent amount of seating! I think I was just disappointed in the food. Not bad but wasn't as good as I was expecting and I felt like it was priced a but pricier given the taste. I would come back to try something else if someone highly recommended it but wasn't my favorite.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy restaurant with friendly, professional and amicable hostesses, waiters/waitresses, bartenders and staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Enticing menu makes choosing a good challenge. Started with a spiked hot chocolate with Bailey's - yesss! My friend babied a yummy espresso martini. The all American cheeseburger was perfectly prepared; however, the hash browns were a tad mushy and slightly burned. The huge chicken dip sandwich was great, especially in the au jus, plus who doesn't like a mound of fresh thin fries? Our waiter, Jack, took care of us promptly before during an after. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience and extensive menu begs me to come back for another round.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great place to grab a bite to eat in Lakeview after doing some shopping @ madewell, gap & Sephora. All within the same block! Can't go wrong with ordering one of the their signature specials- rotisserie chicken! Was juicy and flavorful and went wonderfully with the fluffy mashed potatoes! Since we were sitting at the bar counter our server was also the bar tender-Luis. He was the one who gave us the suggestions on what to order which turned out to be spectacular! He also helped us get our bearings as to where we actually were. We thought Roscoe village or Bucktown but we actually were in Lakeview! I think maybe some would say wrigleyville! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't miss this great place that serves comfort style food with relaxed atmosphere!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Street parking with Pay to Park meters. We were a bit early for our large group reservation, but our table was ready and we were promptly seated. Server came by for drink orders. We perused the menu while awaiting the rest of our party. There's a nice selection of food and drinks. There were also some specials that sounded and tasted great! Brussels sprouts appetizer was shared with the group, a good choice if you enjoy sprouts. Crab toast was reported as delightful, and my Wrightwood Salad was generously portioned and very tasty! Food and drinks were delivered to us in a timely manner. We were not rushed, which was good because our visit was to catch up with out of town visitors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restroom was clean![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's an inviting outdoor patio around the corner on Cornelia Ave, looks like a great place to relax and enjoy the city vibes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    eggs benedict with hashbrowns

We went for brunch on Saturday early afternoon. There is a cocktail menu along with some specials; but we opted for coffee, water, and a bloody mary. We started with some monkey bread and blueberry cornbread. We ordered avocado toast, eggs benedict and biscuits & sausage gravy. Don't forget to add hashbrowns if not included with your entree - they are fantastic!!! Monkey Bread - similar to bread yeast rolls with carmel on the bottom and some butter on top. Nothing too special. Blueberry cornbread - this was way better than expected. Flaky, full of blueberries, not too sweet, but so tasty. MUST-ORDER ITEM! Eggs Benedict - two halves with full poached eggs on bacon with hollandaise sauce. Hashbrowns comes with. These were super tasty and great! I would choose these again. I tried some of the Biscuits & Sausage Gravy. The biscuit was very dense and dry to me, but the sauage gravy was excellent. Avocado Toast - they use a brioche-type bread, which is excellent and avocado mixed with spices gives it a little kick. It comes with a side salad that looked wonderful, but I didn't try it. The restaurants has tables and booths. Although the chairs are wooden and hard if you are in place for over an hour. There is also a bar area. As for holding a conversation, it wasn't too loud during the afternoon. It was getting quite busy, but we still had no trouble talking amongst our group. Our service started off great. Discussing the menu options and famous dishes, etc. We were served water which is served from a bottle brought over from the bar area. However, we never received a refill on water and ended up grabbing it ourself from the bar. In fact, even our last round of drinks and refills were never brought to us. We asked and had to remind our server. Entrees were around the $17-22 range. I would visit again.

    Pasta Rigatoni & Burrata
    Stephen L.

First it's a cozy, neighborhood restaurant in a nice part of Southport's shopping district. Second they have nice outdoor seating that make a comfortable day great al fresco dining. Third they are a scratch kitchen making even the pasta for dishes right there. We had the spinach artichoke appetizer. It came with some gazpacho like salsa that seemed out of place for this type of dish but the appetizer tasted good. It had a couple small hard bits in it, not sure what they were, I couldn't identify them. We also had the pasta rigatoni. It was great. Sauce had good flavor. We loved the house made rigatoni pasta served al dente. It contained generous amounts of burrata in small bits, almost cottage cheese like in size, that were easy to mix in and consume. It had ground sausage with good taste. I think they could have been more generous with the amount of sausage. It was slightly pricey. Two of us, one appetizer, two pasta dishes, no drinks or desserts, came to $80+. I will probably dine here again. Wait staff was polite and on top of most things except did have to ask for silverware and napkins.

*Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. A bit more than seared. A few of the pieces were cooked through.
    Kim V.

Great spot in the Southport Irving Park area. I met a friend of mine to celebrate my birthday. I had the seared Aji tuna salad, but it was cooked a little too much. Several of the pieces were gray. They did make it with Romain lettuce instead of spring mix. Which was my request. It was a nice portion and the vinaigrette was an excellent addition to the salad. Had a spicy margarita, which was ok. We met on a Monday around 12:30 and there was a good sized crowd there. Nice variety of menu. We didn't mention it was my birthday so I don't know if they do desserts for that. Anna was our server and did a nice job. Great outdoor seating. It was a little chilly so we did not sit outside. The inside is decorated a little rustic and it was nice.

Beer was great and Bethany, my server, was wonderful. I felt welcome as a single diner, which isn't always the case at some restaurants. My second visit was a little less wonderful. I sat inside, had a different server on a busy night and felt unappreciated, to be honest. The pace was frenetic with servers and bussers rushing around throughout the restaurant. My server was OK, but I don't think she cared one way or another about my experience as a patron and it showed. Servers really can make a big difference in dining experiences. I know that it's not an easy job, but something to think about for any servers reading reviews. FYI - the reserved signs on the outdoor tables simply mean that you need to see the hostess. The tables are not actually reserved. They really should use different wording because I almost kept walking, thinking that all the outside tables were taken.

What a cute little brewery! They have a handful of beers, with a good variety (i.e. 75% are *not*…read moreIPAs). Plus, I think it's fantastic that their menu describes the flavor notes! The prices are extremely reasonable, with most 10oz pours costing ~$5-6. The flight of the 'core' (shall we say) six is $20... not bad at all if you ask me. I ordered 10oz of the Liquid Baguette, as the menu described, Earthy, Crisp, and Refreshing. While not my favorite beer on the planet, it was very respectable for a craft brew. DryHop also has a proper food menu, with mostly American classics with some a little more out there options, like the Kangaroo Steak Frites or the Hunter Stew (I don't recall what kind of meat, but not exactly something readily available at Jewel's. The cup was a large enough portion, even made me wonder if I was given a bowl by mistake. The broth was rich and savory, with an ample amount of protein. While a little more meat and smaller pieces of potatoes would have been welcome, this is more personal preference than a critique. Something which was less than fantastic was the service. I felt it was inattentive and a little slow, especially given the brewery was only moderately busy at the time. Maybe I am becoming an impatient, old curmudgeon, or maybe there's some truth to my observation, you be the judge. Final verdict: I think DryHop would classify as a micro-brewery. In that regard, they have a solid selection and good variety. To have something for the beer to wash down there's a solid food menu. While beers and grub are of a high standard, the service leaves something to be desired.

Luckily, we were able to snag seats at a bar before a table opened up around 9pm. A note that they don't take reservations (but I kind of wish they did!), so this isn't the place to go if you're in a rush. They had a special seasonal menu going for the holiday, and we started with the reuben hush puppies. While they were more like croquettes, they were extra crispy, cheesy, and juicy with the most delicious thousand island dressing. I wish they would offer this year round! For mains, we ordered the corned beef and buddha bowl. I really liked the horseradish aioli that came with the beef- while the meat could've been more tender, it had a great flavor overall. The cabbage actually tasted pickled and the carrots sweet; non-traditional, but tasty! The buddha bowl had a very wide range of veggies and perfectly cooked rice. I could drink that spicy peanut sauce. I appreciated how large the portions were, which definitely softened the price as we left with plenty of leftovers. All in all, we had a great experience- if you haven't checked Wilde out, I highly recommend doing so!
