To be 100% and full transparency... I have Chipotle nearly everyday (that is how much I love it) and if it were to come between Chipotle & Roti, I'd choose Roti 9 out of 10 times. It so good and refreshing and I don't feel horrible about myself afterwards. The reason I tried it was because someone compared it to Chipotle, so I gave it a try & fell in love. You can tell by the size of my bowl I was not playing around and loved basically everything on their menu. I would recommend one specific thing but everything I have tried hits the spot. So you won't go wrong with giving anything a try. If you've never been to Roti, you're missing out and I highly recommend. This is my go to when I'm craving Mediterranean food and am in a hurry. There's plenty of parking and located in a large plaza with other store and restaurants nearby. Ordering is very easy; there's a variety of different options depending on what you'd like. There menu consists of "Bowls," "Greens & Grains," "Salads," and "Pitas." You have the option to build your own bowl as well. This location has fresh ingredients and the everything in the building is very clean! There's plenty of seating inside and when it's warm outside they do have tables outside. The bowls and entrees can be a little pricey; expect to spend ~$15 dollars. Ordered a carry out order online for the family dinner kit during the shelter at home order for COVID-19. Let me just say my expectations were exceeded! The food was prepared on time, and packed extremely well. The dinner was a great value! It contained everything you'd need for a complete dinner: chicken, rice, salad, falafel, pita and hummus. The health department should pay this dump a visit. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned since before the pandemic. A thick layer of dust on every single surface. By the soda fountain it's even more disgusting. By the checkout counter it's trashed and never cleaned. The staff throw a pita sandwich together as if they hate working there. Enjoy a full bite of yogurt sauce and nothing else. Falafel was hard as a rock and tasted frozen. pita was stale. The owner has clearly abandoned this place and no one has inspected it. COVID-19 Delivery Review: Been a huge fan of Roti ever since college when they opened a location in Hyde Park (where UChicago is located)! If you don't know what this place is.. the best way to describe it is a Mediterranean version of Chipotle! Their pita bread is a must and so is their hummus. I personally always get the salmon or chicken! Their falafels are pretty good too. The only con of my recent Doordash delivery order was there was so much liquid in both dishes we got.. they probably coulda have drained the pickled veggies a bit more? But otherwise, a great consistent meal! I would suggest to management that they could be more generous with the portions though. I'm sure it probably only costs them .25 or something to give a little more rice or a little bit more veggies etc. and it'd make such a difference for the meal! Went to the grand opening of the Roti modern Mediterranean at this location. I t is located in a very busy shopping center. The plus is that there is a parking lot but, since it is for all of the stores in the shopping center, you may have to look around for parking. The food is very good in all Roadie locations. Their slogan is food that loves you back. Well their food is healthier than other fast food restaurants, but the pricing is okay, not great. You have three different choices for your meal you can get a sandwich, a rice plate, or a salad. We usually opt for the rice plate, it seems to have the better variety of choices especially in the sides, toppings and sauces. We have had both the stake roadie, the chicken roti and the salmon kabob. All of these are good my favorite is the steak Roadie and the salmon kabob. There are many different options and I suggest you try a few you can always get your sauce on the side. read more

Came today to find their counter redesigned again. Now all the veggies have changed and they took away the good stuff. A tiny scoop of hummus now. Plus they took away the DYC sauce. Roti may be my absolute favorite fast casual place. I love this place. It's sort of like a Mediterranean chipotle ( but better!) . You order at the counter, wait for your food and seat yourself. The ingredients to chose from are fresh and delish is and there are so many combinations to try. You start with a base of a pita, bowl or salad. I usually go for a salad to limit overall carbs but went for a bowl today as was thrilled to see cauliflower rice as a low carb option for the base ( with a 2$ well worth it up charge). As my protein I chose the spicy lamb meatballs ( 1$ up charge) which were flavorful and added the perfect amount of kick to my bowl . The topping selection at Roti is fantastic- today I chose carrot salad, purple cabbage, roasted tomatoes, olives beets, and pickles . Every ingredient was fresh and sooo good. Similar to chipotle (which everyone would probably cringe at the comparison, but it's better!) you order at the counter and select your meat/ sides/ sauce. I love their half chicken and steak rice bowls! There's a lot of veggie options for the sides so I feel like it's probably a little healthier than your typical fast food restaurant. There are plenty of tables within the restaurant and there's an outdoor patio for our very short summers :). The staff is super nice and friendly right as your walk in. If you find yourself coming here often like myself. There's a rewards program that gives your credit towards your next meal every time you scan the rewards app (I believe it's $5 for every $50 purchase) and you get additional credits if you invite friends or family! read more

SUBPAR quantity of food, argumentative manager with customers and poor customer service and care! 1. Insufficient ingredients for bowls In the last few visits, we were barely given any Harissa chicken along with the other ingredients!!! The manager argues with customers and is poorly training their staff! Having half a spoon serving of chicken is unacceptable!! We are paying for a full scoop, not a partial one! Other locations give a full scoop of harissa chicken - no issues. Don't expect it here at this one! 2. Manager and staff are argumentative We asked politely if he could get a little more. The manager asked if we wanted to pay for more chicken. What? We should get a full scoop with what they charge! We have been regular customers, but noticed their service declining with each visit. Tonight was the worse - last straw! They also put SALT and pepper on the 2nd bowl which we never requested. Salt for many could be a health concern and we certainly did not want more salt in our food! The manager argued about this one too and said this was what they normally do. If they normally did this, they would have been consistent with both bowls. They closed up the first bowl (which the staff did not salt and pepper) and then decided they wanted to salt and pepper the SECOND bowl! Lady, own up to your mistakes and stop arguing with your customers! 3. Lack of customer service and care The manager clearly does not care about customers. There are too many options in Chicago. If the manager and staff do not learn, they will lose customers and location will go away. Stopped in for a quick meal on a Saturday afternoon/evening. The friendliness of the staff is unmatched for a restaurant, let alone a fast food chain. All three girls behind the counter were smiling, chatting with customers, and zooming around the front bar preparing online orders. We ate in, so I watched them continue like this for the entirety of my meal. It's so nice to see such friendly faces these days.
