It was my first time at this location. I came in for a quick snack before an event and decided to try the ripple fries and pickle ketchup. Unfortunately I am not a fan as the fries were dry, stale and not seasoned. The pickle ketchup was extremely sour and salty. I usually get a salad and regretted I didn't get one instead. I was polite and respectful from the start, but the employee assisting me had a terrible attitude when I asked to replace items because of my allergy. I love sweet green and the salads are delicious and filling but I never have a good experience at this location! The workers seem so inconvenienced when I walk in that their eyes about roll in the back of their head! I learned my lesson to ask for blackened chicken as soon as I walk in because they won't ask if you need any modifications or even if you have any allergies which I think is crazy. I ordered a bowl that comes with the green goddess dressing, but I was instead given a different dressing. I have a severe nut allergy, so thankfully I pulled up their menu to try and determine what the dressing was. It was the spicy cashew one. I'm really hoping I can update this in a few months, as my experience wasn't on par with what I expect from sweetgreen. I know this is a new location (very excited for it to be here), so I'm sure some opening pains which I hope they will fix. It's one of the larger sweetgreen's I've been in and lots is great light. It's also in a great location. When I came in around 1:30pm today (a Wednesday), there was one person in front of me waiting and then a couple being helped. There were a ton of people working but it looked like everyone was prepping food, not helping customers. Like, out of 10 people working, 2 were helping customers. A line started to form behind me, as well. I understand getting food out is important but customers should be the priority. Because if the experience is bad, you're not gonna keep them coming back. I got the harvest bowl and took it home to eat. As I ate it, I kept biting into hard pieces. I took one out of my mouth and it's the rice. The rice isn't cooked! Like half of it isn't cooked! It made for an undesirable experience as almost every bite would have a hard piece of rice. Makes me wonder what else is undercooked. Hope they get these issues worked out! I went to this store tonight and it was legit DIRTY. The entire salad bar area looked a mess. Trays weren't fully situated, covers off, etc. Drink area had visibly crumbs, dark liquid spills and a giant footprint on the ledge. The cubbies with utensils had crumbs and other dirty particles in them. An employee had their phone charging on the back counter and the phone was sitting in a metal bowl. There were several employees around but very few were doing anything. Really disgusting place. read more

Let's start off by saying that I'm a big fan of sweetgreen and I'm super happy they opened this new location. It's very convenient and I've not had any issues with online ordering or food quality. Why only 3 stars? Ok let's get into it 1. While enjoying my order in the seating area, I noticed a clash of music. One of the employees in the prep area had their cell phone playing music so loud that it overpowered the house music. This made for a distracting environment. There isn't a shift manager who can notice this? 2. They were out of water cups. Uh ok I guess I'll buy a water. How do you run out of cups? 3. One of the employees in the online order prep area snuck a snack from under the counter while they were prepping someone's bowl. Come on you don't have a break room where you can slip a quick bite? I don't care that you're not eating just not in front. 4. People are always waiting to be helped. There's one person making walk in orders and 3 people prepping. The worst part is that no one even acknowledged the guests in line. Food is great, the experience in store needs help. read more

We love Sweetgreen so we are thrilled for this new location- it is large and beautiful, great for dining in. We went on opening day and while the staff was still learning, they were so nice and kind and the food tasted great. We have been back quite a bit for a quick dinner pick up to-go and we have had a great experience with friendly staff and yummy food. Sweetgreen is my go-to spot for healthy salad. There are many other options in this area, but I personally prefer sweetgreen because they offers special dressings I like. I always get Harvest bowl with extra protein with extra charge. The cheese in the harvest bowl is a nice touch. Who doesn't love cheese? LMAO TIPS: ask for free extra dressings when you pick up. The flavor is much better with double dressing. read more

I've ordered sweetgreen a handful of times. Although it can be pricey to get the exact bowl I want, it always leaves me satisfied and content. I can't believe I am making a review for a fast food (fast casual) place. However, this needed to be brought to light and I am hoping someone associated with the Lincoln Park sweetgreen sees this. I came into the restaurant on a weekday at around ~7:30. There was 1 person ordering and no one else in line. After the person in front of me was being helped, I patiently waited to be served. An employee, who appeared to be the manager with the name tag Sara, just stood over by where the back of the kitchen is. Not taking my order, not cleaning utensils, replacing food, or making food. This didn't bother me in the moment because I wasn't in a rush and I had time to read the whole menu (which I never have). The reason I bring this up is it because adds validation to my next point. When Sara finally gets over to helping me, she makes no eye contact and in a begrudged/nasty tone asked what I want. I had a couple questions about the rice options, chicken, and costs associated with asparagus and avocado. Each one was meet with the coldest and almost mean response - almost to the point where I felt like asking if she knew me from something previously and had a problem. It was one of the wildest experiences I ever had while ordering from a food place like sweetgreen, chipotle, subway, etc. To make matters worse, once I was done checking out I heard her talking to one of the other employees as if she was in-charge or a manager. If that person is a manager with that lack of personal skills, self awareness, and congeniality I very much worry about the rest of the employees and the restaurant as a whole. I'm sure because of the labor market/shortage she will remain employed, but if I owned a place and a customer had an experience like I did, they would be immediately gone. For icing on the cake, back to my previous paragraph, when I was done ordering (after waiting 10 minutes to be helped) there is now a long line and the next 5-8 customers were impacted by her laziness (because I don't know how else to describe it). read more

the building is pretty roomy and has a few seating options, somewhat larger than a typical sweetgreen. when i stopped by, it was around 3 pm and not super busy, so i can't say anything about the quality of service during very active hours; however, the person making my salad was very kind, helpful, and open to modifications on one of the bowls. everything was great! i'll also add in that i am glad the chicken was not dry since that seems to be a common occurrence in many salad bar chains. overall, i enjoyed my experience. read more

I don't like being this person writing bad reviews ever, cause I get that people have their off days, but I have such a sour taste in my mouth after visiting this location. The lady who was making my salad the other day, her name tag said Sara, might have been one of the rudest people I have ever come across for absolutely no reason. I understand it can get hectic at sweetgreen, but I actually came when there was not much of a line behind me except for my friend who I was with (which kudos to the guy who was making her salad cause she had a pleasant experience for her first time at sweet green). Sara not only had a huge attitude with me from the start, but she was rude and talked down to me on multiple instances in that short time frame from her asking what greens I wanted all the way to check out. I ended up hating my salad because she made me so anxious throughout the entire ordering experience that I didn't even think about what I was asking for because she made it seem like I was burdening her by asking questions. I was honestly been taken aback and if I wasn't so shy, I would have called her out at the register and told her there was no need to talk to me like that after she made me feel like an absolute idiot for asking if my salad cousins be chopped. She made the most side ways expression at me and acted like she was disgusted that I would even ask such a thing and then very rudely told me I was wrong and that if I could see, she was mixing my salad. I'm very sorry I forgot that the ingredients were already chopped, but I have NEVER been spoken to that way by anyone for asking a simple question. I will not be returning to this location, which is unfortunate because it is in a good spot but I refuse to be treated that way for no reason. This experience put such a damper on my night and I hope she was just having a bad day because I don't think anyone, either as a worker or a customer, deserves to be treated the way I was today. As someone who has been in the food service industry myself, I understand having an off day, but the last thing I needed today was to get basically shamed while ordering a $20 salad at sweetgreen. read more

Overall good food, store, and employees. The music is not working for me though it's very annoying and loud.

I've been to many sweet greens both in Chicago and outside, but this one seems to have very big problems when it comes to takeout orders. They seem to put half the portions ( if at all) of what you would get when you go in the store. I am hoping this is just because it's a newer location and it will work out it's kinks. But hoping this review will get back to management because the takeout/pickup orders are horrible. I'd definitely recommend doing takeout at the other sweetgreen locations if possible. read more
