BLTA
Caroline H.

I made a run to the grocery store and realized I hadn't eaten (it was 4pm)... So I ran through the drive through and ordered the BLTA. It's offered for a limited time and sounded good. I added swiss and cheddar. The ingredients of the sandwich: Applewood smoked bacon, fresh-sliced avocado, mayo, lettuce and tomato, on perfectly toasted bread The sandwich is very good... very messy, but very good. I hadn't been to a Potbelly in years and the guy who took my order was very patient.

Skinny Mushroom Melt - where's the mushrooms??
Stephanie R.

I have been here multiple times and nothing I order is good but my most recent visit really pushed me to leave this review. I got the skinny mushroom melt and I was hard pressed to find mushrooms!! It was lettuce sandwich. Meh is what I have to say on the potato soup too which lacked flavor. I won't be back ever after this last huge disappointment.

My first Big Wreck at this location!

Not very impressed. Chicken on my club sandwich was cold and and appears to be canned chicken vs. fresh.

Stopped in for dinner while running errands in the area. Pita Way has been on my list for a while…read morebut it's a large chain and I usually steer clear. We were instantly greeted and everyone was very friendly. The menu is kinda intimidating with so many options and everything having unique names. The staff said they'd help us walk through it all, which was helpful. There are literally 26 different things you can add to your order. My wife ordered a bowl and I order a pita, which they call a "sandweech" for some reason. The portions were large but it somehow got pretty pricey, even though I felt their menu was very reasonable. We each added a fountain drink and then I asked for a side of garlic, assuming it would come with a bunch of pita bread to dip. They asked if we wanted chips or pita, and we said pita. We got 1 piece of pita to share and basically a tub of garlic. It was comical and disappointing. I'm not sure if this is normal or we needed to pay for more pita. We each had half of a pita to dip in a jug of garlic. Overall, the food seemed fresh and it tasted great. The dining area was very clean and the parking was simple. Our only complaint was the side not coming with more pita. After looking at the menu from our table, I realized they could have made ours both a combo, since we ordered drinks and one side, and we could get another side as well, but they never suggested that. We'd probably come back in the future but there are a ton of pita places around town, especially locally owned options.

I've noticed more of these franchises popping up in Michigan and we have two in Grand Rapids now…read more Nate and I stopped in for a quick dinner before a movie recently and had a great experience. They'd only been open for a week or two, but the service was smooth and friendly. There is some space to dine in but if you have a large group it might be best to take it to go. The menu is simple yet kind of overwhelming as many things are customizable. They have bowls, wraps, quesopitas, sides, salads, and soups. You can make any of the entrees into a combo for an additional $5, which gets you a drink and a side. I went with the fattoush salad with dark meat chicken and feta, and Nate got the "sandweech" (wrap) combo with gyro meat. It was a bit tough to order as it was really loud in there with a lot of beeping/alarms going off and a lot of people talking all at once, so be aware if you are hard of hearing because I think that would be really difficult. However, the employees were all friendly and helpful with suggestions. I was asked some questions I didn't really know the answers to like if I wanted oil on my salad (after the dressing had been added)... so I just asked what the recommendation was. The food is prepared in front of you and everything seemed fresh. I was impressed by the size of the salad - we definitely could have split it. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well, and I loved the crunchy pita. Nate's gyro sandweech was also delicious, with plenty of sauce and tender meat. But the star of the show for me was the hummus and pita. This is the best hummus I've ever had in my entire life. It was SO creamy and flavorful. I could eat the entire container by myself. The pita was crispy and perfect to dip. They have some weekly specials that I'm interested in checking out (like Tuesdays when you can get two Dearborn sandwiches for only $10). You can order online ahead of time and they have a rewards program. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and more of that hummus!

They will let you try samples in store if you ask. I recently tried their new summer menu and while the picnic burger was delicious, I expected it to be a bit larger for the price (it was on a slider bun). The Hawaiian mac salad was tasty, but was a little heavy handed on the red onion for my own personal preference. I will for sure be trying some other things on their picnic menu, but honestly looking forward to the fall hoping that they will switch back to their regular menu with soup and grilled cheese. I support whatever helps them stay open since I assume soup isn't the most popular option come July and heat waves!

Their menu includes 10+ different soups each day, as well as several sandwiches and some salads. I ordered the garage sale: white cheddar, fresh mozz, rosemary goat mousse, havarti, and swiss on challah. I also got the steak and mushroom soup and the snert soup for Nate. When I arrived my order was waiting for me - it was nicely packaged and secure so everything was safely contained for my short drive home. The sandwich wasn't very melty, I ended up heating it up in a pan myself which helped. It was super tasty, though! I love the combination of cheeses. The steak and mushroom soup was really good, with chunks of meat in a creamy broth. The snert soup was very salty! The menu description indicated the snert soup should have sausage or kielbasa in it, but we didn't notice any. The restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating, but I'd probably just order there next time. You can also get samples.

This is (still) one of the city's coolest hidden gems! New City Cafe is a student-run restaurant…read morethat serves wood-fired pizzas, salads, soup, and bakery items. Their mission is "empowering youth to reach their full potential" and all the teens we interacted with were so great and polite. They're only open on Thursdays in the summer from 4-7 pm, but it's definitely worth seeking out if you like pizza with a purpose. They offer specialty pizzas that change each week, in addition to cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza. You can even build your own pizza with their farm fresh ingredients (literally, they source many of their ingredients from the 1-acre urban farm located next to the cafe). There's lots of outdoor seating as well as a super cute dining area inside with a colorful and fun mural. You can order online ahead of time and take your food to go as well. Nate and I tried the Micaela, a pepperoni and pineapple pizza, and their supreme with pepperoni, bacon, sausage, onions, peppers, and mushrooms. The pizza came out quickly and it was so delicious - super cheesy and flavorful. I love the char on the crust that comes from the super hot wood oven. Prices range from $10-$15 and they have at least one vegan option each week. We sat inside and it was nice and cool, but it did get pretty loud. Family-friendly spot, we saw lots of kids. I love the mission and food at New City Cafe and make it a priority to visit at least once each summer. Hoping I can make it back again before their season ends!

Employees were friendly and working hard while we were there. I got the spaghetti and meatballs for my meal. It was ok, didn't wow or disappoint necessarily, it just was what it was. Pasta and noodles in general are one of my favorite foods so when I first started eating at Noodles & Company years ago I knew I'd always find a reason to try a dish I hadn't had yet from them. Even though it was just ok, I will definitely still be coming back to try more items. On top of having many noodle based dishes, they also have lots of drink options and a few tasty looking desserts. Overall I'd say this is an average Noodles & Company, so if you enjoy other locations this spot is a good stop.

Then about hour 2, I started to feel pain in my stomach and then my body turned achy and I became weak. I vomited a few minutes later at work and had to lay on the floor because I was too weak. After vomiting 3 more times, all it came out was the egg and cheese sandwich, I had not eaten anything for 14 hours, I decided to call Panera to let them know that they should check the cheese because of what happened to me. The woman on the floor told me that it could not have been them because if it was a lot of people would have gotten sick as well. Surprised with her lack of empathy, I told her that it was possible that people may associate vomiting to something else, I happened to not have eaten for multiple hours (intermittent fasting) she argued with me even though she said she didn't want to argue, she cut me off saying she understood what I said. I told her that I knew she understood me, we were both speaking English, but I was expecting empathy not just a dismissal of what I had gone through. I called out her attitude toward a well intended complaint and she became extremely defensive, I asked to talk to a manager and she said she was the manager. I asked to talk to someone else and she put me on hold for a few seconds and then hanged on me. I called twice again and no one picked up. I know a lot of young people work there, I've seen attitudes but this lady took it to a different level. Do better. I visit this restaurant often for years, this was new and very disappointing. I keep calling and it doesn't even go to voicemail, someone just cancels the call. They don't want to listen or face accountability
