Stopped in for dinner while running errands in the area. Pita Way has been on my list for a while but it's a large chain and I usually steer clear. We were instantly greeted and everyone was very friendly. The menu is kinda intimidating with so many options and everything having unique names. The staff said they'd help us walk through it all, which was helpful. There are literally 26 different things you can add to your order. My wife ordered a bowl and I order a pita, which they call a "sandweech" for some reason. The portions were large but it somehow got pretty pricey, even though I felt their menu was very reasonable. We each added a fountain drink and then I asked for a side of garlic, assuming it would come with a bunch of pita bread to dip. They asked if we wanted chips or pita, and we said pita. We got 1 piece of pita to share and basically a tub of garlic. It was comical and disappointing. I'm not sure if this is normal or we needed to pay for more pita. We each had half of a pita to dip in a jug of garlic. Overall, the food seemed fresh and it tasted great. The dining area was very clean and the parking was simple. Our only complaint was the side not coming with more pita. After looking at the menu from our table, I realized they could have made ours both a combo, since we ordered drinks and one side, and we could get another side as well, but they never suggested that. I've noticed more of these franchises popping up in Michigan and we have two in Grand Rapids now. Nate and I stopped in for a quick dinner before a movie recently and had a great experience. They'd only been open for a week or two, but the service was smooth and friendly. There is some space to dine in but if you have a large group it might be best to take it to go. The menu is simple yet kind of overwhelming as many things are customizable. They have bowls, wraps, quesopitas, sides, salads, and soups. You can make any of the entrees into a combo for an additional $5, which gets you a drink and a side. I went with the fattoush salad with dark meat chicken and feta, and Nate got the "sandweech" (wrap) combo with gyro meat. It was a bit tough to order as it was really loud in there with a lot of beeping/alarms going off and a lot of people talking all at once, so be aware if you are hard of hearing because I think that would be really difficult. However, the employees were all friendly and helpful with suggestions. I was asked some questions I didn't really know the answers to like if I wanted oil on my salad (after the dressing had been added)... so I just asked what the recommendation was. The food is prepared in front of you and everything seemed fresh. I was impressed by the size of the salad - we definitely could have split it. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well, and I loved the crunchy pita. Nate's gyro sandweech was also delicious, with plenty of sauce and tender meat. But the star of the show for me was the hummus and pita. This is the best hummus I've ever had in my entire life. It was SO creamy and flavorful. I could eat the entire container by myself. The pita was crispy and perfect to dip. They have some weekly specials that I'm interested in checking out (like Tuesdays when you can get two Dearborn sandwiches for only $10). You can order online ahead of time and they have a rewards program. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and more of that hummus! read more

To those who are yet not aware. During the beginning of the hot weather there was an opening at knapp's corner and crossing. Pita way There are a variety of amazing middle eastern and Mediterranean places in Grand Rapids But what makes Pita way different, it is, its casual friendly atmosphere and fast delicious and yet healthy food. It's also certified Halal, which is another perk! The service there is amazing, they let you customize bowls, sandwich's, salads. If you got a family and need to go, they have a family size set, up to four different protein options. (Or if you need to meal prep but don't have the time, just order that and portion it out for yourself too!) The fries and a few other items are not gluten free, so do keep an eye out on the menu when ordering or feel free to ask questions. The staff there would love to help you out if you have any form of allergies. They also have reward systems and occasional deals. They also have an app, so feel free to check them out! I had previously written a review for Pita Way when I had a different experience than what I was used to. The owner reached out and was willing to hear me out. It's only fair to add a review of my first handful of experiences. The staff at the Pita Way in my neighborhood are very friendly and polite. They are usually busy no matter what time of day I go but it's always fresh and reasonably quick considering the time takes to take custom orders, drop proteins, fill bowl/wraps. all that multitasking while communicating with other staff members and costumers. I personally love most of the add ons that you can put in the bowls/wraps and usually get a side also. The Gyro meat is seasoned well and authentically, the falafel as well. The Grilled chicken is always grilled right, staying juicy and tender. I haven't had everything in the menu yet. Give this place a try. If you're not sure on how to fix your own wrap/bowl just ask for help. The staff are always willing to help. You can never go wrong adding Tabbouli, Tahini, Sumac and they have this mix of sliced almonds and dried fruit that always sends it! read more

If you're looking for the Holy Grail of good eating, you've officially found it. Healthy, fair portions, and fairly priced. This is saying a ton in the 2024 economy. The environment isn't slow, or too fast paced, but simple. That simplicity is more than enough. This place is about the food, and how good it is. The experience is in the eating. Update. I have tried this restaurant two more times specifically for gyro meat meals, and both times they were delicious. I would suggest the 1 1/2 - 2 times meat portion size option in the ordering system if you are a carnivore like my husband. For me the more fun different stuff I can pack into the gyro wrap the better. Food is tasty but too much rice in the bowl. I ordered using the app, selecting no onion. When arriving, I was watching them make my order and they topped it with onion. The preparer said his screen is different than my order screen. I showed him my screen and my order clearly didn't have onion listed as an ingredient. I asked what can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again, and his answer was to put it in the notes. Seems silly. The place reminds me of any other like Jimmy John's or Subway for seating and decor. The place was clean and had enough seating for parties of 2-4 to sit. The tables were a bit close together which could be an issue if they were full. The food is freshly cooked in front of you and prepared to your liking. The choice of meat is light or dark chicken or lamb meat. We chose the lamb and it was delicious. The toppings are plentiful and you will like the hummus and garlic sauce to start. The staff was playful and very friendly. I would recommend trying this place out all for around $15 per person which was a meal with side and drink. read more

This place has so much potential, but its owners/managers are not giving the staff enough training and support. My daughter and I stopped here for lunch yesterday. When we arrived, the staff and a customer were having a conversation about something they'd messed up. The customer took a seat and waited while they fixed their mistake. When we ordered, the staff members were socializing loudly. There was an air of disorganization and immaturity. One member hollered to another across the restaurant , "Hey, did you take my bowl!? I had cheese in that!" Having said that, our food was good and the atmosphere is fine. But these kids need some guidance! read more

I usually don't go to a new restaurant until it has been opened for a few months, but something said I should try it right now, and I'm so glad I did. The ingredients on display were very fresh looking. I had the Sandweech, the look was unique, and it was huge. The grilled white meat chicken was cooked perfectly, and I added tomatoes, lettuce, onion, pickles and garlic sauce. The service is friendly, and the staff is happy to explain the different choices. Horrifically inauthentic. Missing many traditional ingredients from the Gyro, tastes like a burger (yuck) and even tho it was made right in front of me it's as hard as a rock. Real trash, don't waste your money unless you are also unaware of what a Gryo is. Then maybe you'll like it. read more
