Something about being travel-hungry made one thing crystal clear: I needed a Wreck. And wow... this hit the spot perfectly. I ordered the A Wreck on multigrain, thin-cut, loaded with basically everything good in the house -- Genoa salami, roast beef, smoked ham, turkey breast, provolone, hot peppers, caramelized onions, pickles, cucumbers, artichoke hearts, roasted garlic aioli... the whole masterpiece. Every bite hit. The bread had that perfect warm toast, the meats were stacked generously, and the balance of tangy, savory, crunchy, and spicy was chef's kiss. The caramelized onions with the hot peppers especially took it over the top. Also grabbed a large Strawberry Dragonfruit refresher, which was ice-cold and ridiculously refreshing after airport chaos and North Carolina humidity. Exactly what I needed. I am certainly disappointed that I haven't enjoyed a sandwich here because there are so many great sandwich chains out there, and a good one can truly be a game changer! The first time I had a sandwich from here was a tuna salad sandwich. My mom had brought it back home, so it wasn't 100% fresh right off the counter, but the bread to tuna ratio was really unbalanced and it was more bread than tuna. The flavor and quality of the tuna was also nothing too impressive, but it is just tuna salad. The biggest disappointment for me was the last time I went there and ordered a BLTA. Even with the bacon, avocado and extra seasoning that I requested on the sandwich, it was super bland. You really could only taste the lettuce and the bread, the bacon got totally lost in the mix and the avocado didn't shine through. It is probably a sign that the avocado could be more fresh! Unfortunately, due to my poor experiences here, I tend to prefer other sandwich chains over Potbelly. I will say, the location is decent and I had no problems with the employees, so this spot has a few things going for it. If you enjoy Potbelly, then great! Everyone definitely has their preferences. As a business owner I hate being talked down to by a kid and this location so called manager. I asked for owners number and was told to call corporate. Didn't offer the number but when asked if the store was franchised or corporate it is franchised which means my complaint is with the owner since my complaint is with the condescending manager "V". At 7:00-7:05 pm the manager thru out the tea with 2.5 hours still remaining. I was told they make once a day and only good for 7 hours. If made at 10 the tea should have been thrown out at 5 and when he said he would hate to serve bad tea I find the statement ridiculous since our party had already served ourselves tea prior to that and he wasn't worried. So he admits he was serving bad tea which it tasted fine and if bad I would have alerted them. You charged us for a drink we couldn't refill nor did he bother asking anyone if they wanted a refill before throwing out since he wasn't worried about the tea for several hours past its expiration. This seems to be a common issue with these franchise stores as employees are looking for anything to clean up and to help get them out of store quickly at the end of the evening and couldn't care if their customers are taking care of. He offered to let me take a tea from cooler yet had no unsweet tea available there either. When i mentioned that to him he told me twice to have a nice evening with his snotty attitude. There is a glass partition where you tell the employee what to add to your sandwich, which is very hard to hear through. I found myself yelling to ask for toppings. This is our second time here. The guy taking orders was not very polite. I asked him questions and he just said so you want the salad. When I tried again, he walked away and got the person making the food. She was nice. She took my order. I got the farmhouse salad. Tons of toppings. I asked for no bacon or tomato with balsamic instead of buttermilk ranch. The lettuce tasted old. The rest was fine. My husband got the veggie and my son got the Avo turkey. Both liked their food. While driving back from the Carolina coast, a friend of mine was raving about this sandwich shop and insisted we try it. Not being a person to turn down a chance to try a new place to eat, or to deny a friend of mine a favorite experience he doesn't get to have often, we stopped in at Potbelly Sandwich Shop. There is ample parking in the lot surrounding the restaurant, and the interior has a nice urban vibe to it. I especially liked the touches from the ceiling panels. After staring at the menu for awhile trying to figure up the perfect sandwich, I went with something a little unorthodox in the mediterranean chicken sandwich. The sandwich came nicely appointed with chicken breast, feta, hummus, artichoke hearts and rosted red peppers. I had them add some of their hot peppers to kick it up a notch. Good decision. Biting into the sandwich, the bread was fresh, but none of the ingredients inside really popped for me other than the hot peppers and feta. I pulled a piece of hummus laden chicken out of the sandwich for an individual taste, and it was fine, but didn't have much going for it on it's own. All together it had a nice texture, but in remembering it now, it's not something I'm anxious to eat again. Still, it was filling, and certainly very edible, just not special. All told, if my friend wants to stop there again sometime, I would do so and try something else on the menu without any fight... but I don't think I'll seek this place out again unless one happens to move into my hometown. read more

The place was clean The decor has a great deal of NC details on the decor and it was very relaxing colors The turkey sandwich comes with what looks like chopped turkey meat, not deli meat. The toppings for the Mediterranean were delicious I add balsamic dressing to my sandwich as well as avocados (it's about a dollar surcharge and change upcharge) You can make it a combo with chips and a drink They have pickles but they are too soft for me they do n't have enough crisp for my liking. I did like the taste they seem homemade. The vegetable soup reminded me of Brunswick stew without the beef and okra. The soup had a delicious taste. The potato soup has a bacon flavor to it. The soup is very creamy and has potato chunks throughout. I will definitely try it again and possibly add some cookies. read more

It's the top If their menu and includes turkey, roast beef, salami, and ham. I was disappointed with the amount of protein. Maybe a razor thin slice of each. Tasted fine for a sandwich but I could make it at home for a lot less. I'd like something more than paying someone to put slices on bread. I can do that just fine. I can't make pastrami or corned beef easily. So if you need a sandwich and don't have time to make your own this place is great. Why have I not tried this sandwich shop before !! I got the AWreck which is their signature sandwich. This is usually always a good place to start for a new place. Added hot peppers. They were hot jalapeños. YUM !! The sandwich was toasted and it was delicious !!! Also got a cookie. Obviously fresh baked and also super yummy. If you have not already , give them a try. My fav thing about potbelly is how you get to customize the toppings as soon as it comes out the toaster. I hate lettuce on my sandwiches - especially a sandwich like wreck. But what did the guy put on it? Lettuce, tomato and mayo. why even ask what I want on it? Just do whatever you want cause you will anyway... 2nd visit to this location in a week and both times the same guy does whatever he wants to the sandwich. Food: aside from not having the toppings I asked for, the sandwich is cold. At 500 degrees it should be a warm toasty sandwich. Terrible... just disastrous. :( Cleanliness: it's not busy. Plenty of tables open. Not a long wait to order (I know why at this point). The tables are always dirty. They have hand sanitizer stations, so I grab napkins and put sanitizer on them and wipe my own table. And the bathroom? Again, it's not busy and it's early in the day. You can tell absolutely no one cleaned the bathroom before they opened or closed last night. Dried piss stains everywhere. Potbelly "standard": when you're in line ordering, there's products they use on the wall and it makes it exciting to order food, sides etc. This location has half smashed generic brand cans. Not even full shelves at that. It's really clear from my 2 recent visits this location is really poorly managed. Doesn't care for brand standard or customer experience. It's so disappointing. Potbelly is not cheap. I spent $20 for lunch. I hope this franchise owner fixes these issues. Maybe more people would want to order from here. Now that I'm in Virginia, I need to drive at least an hour and 15 minutes to enjoy one of these oven toasted beauties. I was visiting family and before my 3.5 hour drive north, I drove over to Morrisville for a Big Mediterranean with chicken on wheat bread. As it turned out, I was the only one there on a rainy Friday night. The staff was friendly and engaging, the guy noticed my Mets hat and asked me a few questions about the team. The high counter made it very hard for me to actually see what slim picking toppings were available. So I looked on the menu and got it all the way. Nice decorations, staff was learning and nice. Their meatball sub is delicious, their tuna's pretty solid (though I wish there was an option not to toast the bread when ordering delivery), and their Italian is my absolute favorite. The price point is incredibly on par with other local shops (unless you're getting supermarket subs), and the quality of the meats and bread is absolutely better. The ONLY reason I took off a star is because instead of putting mayo on the bread they put it in the MIDDLE OF THE SANDWICH. Like, between the meats and cheeses and toppings so you essentially have a jelly roll of mayo/mayo burrito. It's super disgusting. I don't know when this mayo-placement- practice became popular, but it's blasphemous. Mayo is meant to soak into the bread, not as the creamy condiment that shoots into your mouth when you take a bite of sub. My group of girl friends get together here once a week for a socially distant, outdoor dinner. We all love the sandwiches, which are served hot, the giant cookies and the creamy shakes. The staff is very nice and super attentive. Their Covid precautions are great - everyone is wearing a mask, constant cleaning, etc. However, because of less staff and the extra work, it's more time than expected to get your sandwich when you order online.
