I am not sure who manages this location ( Royal Oak), but everything about it is horrible. They have perhaps 1 or 2 workers who are pleasant or at least do not possess the attitude problem of the remainder of the employees. I had to start going in as, every time I ordered delivery, it came without dressing. This was not an isolated incident, but rather occurred once a week for 6-8 weeks. After going in person, I realized why. I went yesterday and my husband and I were the only patrons with at least 5 people working. I don't eat sandwiches often but if I do this is my go to, so like their Mediterranean sandwich, skinny and biggie on wheat. I also put extra peppers as I really like their giardineira peppers here, so spicy and perfect for their sandwiches. If it was for all of the carbs from the bread I would eat more of this stuff. Grabbed a sandwich here with my manager after a site visit the other day and it was good. Service was quick, sandwich was amazing. The chip selection is interesting. I wasn't fond of the voodoo chips but everything else was great. It also is a pretty large seating area and looks very clean. I'd get food from here again for sure. read more

I had to have my sandwich re-made because they were in a rush. I ordered a simple turkey classic with bacon and avocado. When I first placed my order, the lady behind the topping station asks me if I want avocado I say "yes" and she hands the wrapped up/ bagged sandwich to me. Bf ordered a milkshake and asked the cashier for the butter cookie that goes on top. Cashier basically tells him it would be an inconvenience to go get the cookies because they are in a box above the counter and it would take awhile to get them down. Ok??? This woman proceeded to launch the sandwich I handed her into the garbage can as if she was playing in the NBA and let's out a big sigh of annoyance, then complains to another worker that she has to remake the sandwich . She hands me the replacement sandwich and tried to be nice and offer me a cookie as if I was a child . Got back in the car. Took a bite of the replacement sandwich. Now there is just a sliver of avocado and NO MAYO AND NO CHEESE. At this point I'm too hungry to go back in and complain so I just settle for the DRY sandwich, kettle chips and my chocolate chip cookie that I got for complaining. I've actually never been treated so poorly at a sub shop or any food establishment in my life. Context for this review: I am a server at a fast paced mid grade restaurant. I serve the worst of the worst of the general public. I'm also a social worker. Aka I have MAJOR empathy and compassion for food service employees and the service industry in general BC I LITERALLY deal with it, too. I was kind. I spoke clearly. And this employee spoke indirectly to me in a very rude tone- as if I was a complete inconvenience for her to even be taking the time to speak to me, apparently lol like... I'm at a loss. I usually don't go to Potbelly's not because it's bad but because there are others that are better. Unfortunately I was in Verizon purgatory and had limited options for lunch that wouldn't jeopardize my place in line. Enter Potbelly's, the only choice in the strip mall except "the bux". A huge space for a sub joint the place is the Potbelly version of Cracker Barrel decor. The menu options are pre chosen, Italian, Mediterranean, turkey... Ok that's nothing new. They toast everything which goes with their name. I get it but it basically bleeds all the grease out of the FEW pieces of meat and cheese for a meh initial presentation. I ordered an Italian, regular size with oil and vinegar. They had no vinegar? Only Potbelly's Italian dressing. Ok. Welcome to mid west Sub land. $13 later for a combo and that's a lunch. I have always done pickup orders at this place. Every time I've ordered from here, I arrive at least 5 minutes after it says the order is completed. Every time, I have to wait in the restaurant for 10 minutes. They don't utilize the pickup order window. It's almost always ready just sitting there and you have to wait for someone to acknowledge that you're standing there to give the food. The workers are lazy and clearly don't care about efficiency. We order thru door dash often, under special instructions we ask for potbelly vinaigrette on the side.
