This location is now my local favorite. It's less than 10 minutes from home and the service is excellent. I walked in around 5 p.m. and the food was made fresh, the cashier was super friendly, and the portions were plentiful for the price point. I was apprehensive about not going to Piquette as I usually would, but this location is easily my new favorite. I ordered a chicken shawarma salad with pickles, banana peppers, and feta cheese. Even though it's an Express and a smaller shop, is still actually decently sizable. Its in a shopping area and there are a few other things you can walk around to. It's in his own shopping area so there's free parking. The service was pretty good. It was a little bit of a wait but it happens. The food was great. They don't miss on that! Chicken shawarma salad - The salad is excellent. The marinated chicken that they use for the wraps goes on a salad, and they're still marinated and so good that you won't even really need the dressing. I'm not really fond of the dressing, they does do anything for me but I could eat it alone without dressing or just use the garlic sauce as well. Either way, the salad is awesome. You also get a hell of a lot of it as well. The The regular and the large are like a couple of dollars different. So if you take the large for a couple of dollars more, you will definitely have food for later that day LOL! Ruben slider - The slider here was really really good. Everything was perfectly melted and the meat had premium taste to it. I should have ordered them more LOL. Chicken slider - This slider was really good. Of course it was overshadowed by the Reuben slider so that's kind of not fair, but this was still really good in tender. Curly fries - curly fries are really good and you got a lot of them. Ordered via DoorDash, food came quick. My coworkers order from this place at least once a week so I had high hopes, only for them to be crushed the moment I took my first bite. The Chicken Shawarma is advertised as having grilled marinated chicken, tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo, garlic spread all wrapped up a pita. My disappointment comes with the filling of my wrap, there were 2 tiny strips of pickle, one piece of tomato, and maybe a tablespoon of garlic sauce (if that), and no mayo to my taste. What's worse than being skimped on the veggies is the fact that they were replaced with more chicken! I had to remove at least half off it just to stomach my wrap, but by that point the meal lost all of its appeal. Do better! People need vegetables (and more garlic sauce)! read more

This is the fattiest and honestly most terrible lamb I've ever had-- reason being this meat doesn't taste like lamb at all. It tastes like beef with a spritz of lamb essence. I have been to the Detroit Bucharest locations before, a long time ago, and I was craving shawarma on my ride home from Portage today, so I stopped here for takeout. The good: -You get a lot for your money - I got the chicken shawarma, no lettuce, for $6.99, and I'm almost done eating it, as I write this review, and it's a lot of food. -They are FAST - this is kind of good and bad. I called the store when I had about 18 minutes left in my drive, and they said it would be ready in 5 minutes. I asked them to hold my order for 10 minutes (i.e., don't put in the order for an extra 10 minutes) because of that. -Additionally, when I showed up to the store, they were also fast in retrieving my order. -The sandwich itself is very good although their chicken is more charbroiled than I prefer. Lots of garlic. Could use more pickles. The meh: -The person on the phone was very brusque. When I arrived there were a LOT of cooks / counter people so maybe that's why (I'm sure they are busy). The service was good everyone was friendly, since this is an express location you have a lot of people who call in order. This is the closest location to Southfield. I've visited this location twice recently in order to pick up a DoorDash order that I put in for myself. I will absolutely not be returning. I wasn't greeted by a single worker on my first visit. No one even looked up at me. I had picked up an online order for myself previously over by the carryout section, so I headed there. Again, no one acknowledged me. Not a "hello", not a "how can we help you", nothing. The carryout worker had airpods in and didn't even look up at me, while both cashiers were texting/facetiming. Eventually after I interrupt a facetime call, they tell me that it's at the "online order" section. The supposed manager grabs my food from behind the counter with a snarky comment about "online orders here" added. Just a thought here, if you have an "online order" section, maybe put a sign. Put ANYTHING to direct people. Same experience the second time. It was a little busier this time, so maybe that's the issue? Nope, cashiers both texting. No acknowledgement while walking in. No communication. Snarky comment from the manager AGAIN. Dude, I can't fetch my food from behind the counter on my own. You have zero signage about online orders. Just treat the customer like a human being and get off of your phones. I used to enjoy the food here, but I'll defer to the Detroit location. Let's just say this is the most convenient Bucharest to go to. The flavors are good has always. The chicken was tender and juicy which is very important and makes the shawarma all the better. The regular fries are just that - regular. Think I from now on I will stick with the curly fries.
