Got a table right away today for lunch. Got the regular menu along with the specials. Hard choice deciding from the specials so I ordered one to eat there and one to go. One of my friends got the soup flight. The soups are all homemade & you get to choose 3 for $7. She said they were all real good especially the mushroom. I got the chicken quesadillas & so did one of my friends. The others got chicken fingers, turkey club & chicken souvlaki. We all took part of our meal home. We were celebrating a birthday & called ahead to see if we could bring in a cake. They graciously said yes & after we ate they brought small plater, forks and a knife to cut the cake. Our waitress was great! She even said go ahead and sing if you want but I'm not singing. The place is small but cute ,all in one room, with the bar in front and tables on the side and back. Our party of 10 loved this spot. The bar area was packed on a Saturday night for the World Cup, but they seated us in their back room that was quiet and just us for the night! Buffalo Chicken wrap was perfect, along with the Long Island iced tea. Potters field has been on the misses list for a while now and today we made a lunch pit stop there and we're glad we did. This place is a great "not so secret " restaurant. Walking in the dining area we couldn't help noticing the amazing decorations hanging from the ceiling. We sat and within moments our waitress had our drink order and then food going. The misses got the French onion burger which was a nice size patty and plenty of onion &?cheese . The dip that comes with it was a flavorful addition. The little yelper got the kids tender, it was devoured with ease. Mostly for that ice cream dessert. I got yep, y'all know. The wings murph style. Saucey, crispy they were packed with flavor and I'd 100% put these on the top flavors list. Plus their bleu cheese was fresh and chunky/ just the way I like it. We can't forget the soup sampler either. We got French onion, Irish stew, and the stuffed pepper. All of them were good, but the stuffed pepper, I'd come just for a bowl of that! I thought this was an absolute great little hidden gem of a Tavern. Had the French onion soup, and the Cajun chicken tortellini. The soup was perfectly balanced not too much salt. Very good flavor. The Cajun chicken tortellini was fabulous. Somehow the chicken was so tender and moist. Typically in a cream sauce it's overcooked and dry and chewy. This was absolutely moist and delicious. Sausage was just right. Very very balanced dish. Really enjoyed it. Jeanne was my waitress and she was spot on with drinks and advice on the menu. Very helpful very pleasant. Now the tavern itself is very welcoming but understand it is a tavern. I was here on a Saturday night for dinner and it was quite loud because the bar is right next to the tables. New place nice patio and pretty good food. The service left a lot to be desired the waitress was totally overwhelmed and we didn't see her for long stretches of time and no drink refills. New ownership has made this place even better. The place was packed last night with people escaping the feeling of cabin fever from the blizzard. Beer was ICE cold and came in a frozen glass. Wings were perfect! Plump, almost crispy exterior. Spicy medium sauce with a juicy wing on the inside. And the Potters burger is amazing too. Thick perfectly cooked patty with a stuffed banana pepper on top and a side of stuffed pepper sup on that side that you can dunk or smother you burger in. Stopped with family, seven of us, for some food and drinks. My son and I had the Murphs wings which were delicious. Others in our group had, stuffed burgers, Reuben sandwiches, as well as salads and French Onion soup. Everyone agreed that their food was very good. Ordered a draft Guinness and a vodka lemonade which were served with a short wait, the patios were busy in this phase 2 opening time. Ordered a steak sandwich and a BLT which were served promptly and were good. The steak sandwich featured an uncut steak on a roll with cheese and spinach. Really enjoyed the steak sandwich. Stopped here around 5pm on a Friday evening. The bar was packed, but seating was available ... by the time we left most tables were taken. It was pretty loud inside with the after work crowd, but we didn't mind it since it helped drown out the "outdoor voices" of our kids. They have a very tiny parking lot, but spots are available on the side street. We ordered the Five Alarm Burger (special of the day) and the Potters Burger. Both were cooked to a perfect medium and the buns complimented the patties - not overly "bready" but held up to the juiciness of the burgers and saucy toppings. The spicy queso sauce (on Five Alarm) had a nice zing to it and the Potters Burger is served with a large condiment cup of stuffed banana pepper soup to dip it in. You'll want to ask for a spoon to finish it up, it's that good. We also had a 1/2 breaded fish fry for $9. It was a decent size for being a half-order and with the sides, it made for a filling meal. We asked to 2 potato choices instead of slaw. It ended up being a $3 upcharge, which is a bit pricey; however, the roasted reds and sweet fries were both delicious. The sweet fries are waffle cut and lightly shaken in a cinnamon honey butter. The mac salad didn't look like anything special, but it was flavorful. I remember they used to have a non-mayo based mac salad that was fantastic ... would love for them to bring it back. It was a nice surprise to find a kids menu. $6 with fries, drink, and ice cream treat. The kids decided on the chicken fingers. They were hand breaded in Panko crumbs. Not our favorite, as the breading takes on the flavor of the oil that it is fried in. And at this particular visit, the fingers were overcooked and burnt at some of the edges. We did forget about the ice cream treat at the end, but no worries because the kids were stuffed. As for the service, the waitress was friendly and made sure we had plenty of napkins (necessity with kids and when I eat burgers). She did get busy when the dinner crowd started to roll in, so it was understandable when it took her awhile to check back. Overall this is a good spot for burgers and if you're often intrigued by specials of the day. Stopped in for a late lunch with my aunt. It is a small little pub but very cozy and welcoming. All decked out for the holidays. The bartender/waitress was very personable and attentive. If you're looking for "ales" as advertised you will likely be disappointed as those consisted of nothing more than name brands. Even a local brew was unable to be found. My waitress though excellent when ordering down the rest of my meal playing with her phone while my water glass sat empty. Never in my life have I been so disgusted by service from a restaurant or bar. Have been multiple times and have never had an issue, drinks are good, foods good, atmosphere is okay, service has always been mediocre. Last night was the last straw for me there. We had a few drinks and ordered waters at the end when closing out. We walked out to our car and were standing outside talking. We had then been approached by a lady that had been in the bar yelling at us that we needed to get an uber and to turn our keys into the bar. After she has left the bar tender had came outside, crossed the street and started yelling at us that we needed to get a ride from somebody or call an uber at that instant or else we were getting the cops called on us if we had entered our vehicle. Neither of us were intoxicated at all and the bar tender would have kept serving us if we had not left. We then had another person who is a bar tender at multiple other popular local bars come out and proceed to harass us outside of the bar. The bar tender then came out once again and yelled at us about calling an uber. Our vehicle was not on the property or parking lot of the bar and we had been continued to get harassed by the bar tender. We later then found out that this bar tender had called multiple people that know who we are and complained that we were being ignorant and causing a scene in the bar which never happened. I don't know what the problem these people have but they have lost service from us, and multiple people we know after what happened. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone ever again. I thought that with all the money they had just put into the remodel that a situation like this would not happen but I'm absolutely disgusted in what happened read more

Average little South Buffalo Irish Bar. They are known for their wings because they offer a very strange combination called the "716 wings", which takes like a combination of BBQ sauce, nutmeg and hot sauce. It's weird, but enjoyable if you are looking to try something different. This place is located across the street from a golf course so it would be a regular place for me to grab a beer after a round...if I played golf. They make their own pizza logs and stuffed banana pepper logs (omg so good!). They were out of Rheuben bites but I would love to come back and try those cause they sound really good! They offer some decent drink specials and there is ton of patio space that wraps around the building. Last time we were here, there was a very strong gasoline smell which made it difficult to enjoy the patio, some people walked out because it was overpowering. A south buffalo Irish Staple on Potters Rd. I've been here a few times and the food is affordable and the serving size is gracious. This time around, I got the Potters Burger, which is like a banana pepper flavored burger ( I ordered it medium but it was more on the mid well -well side) - flavorful and huge with fries and a side of banana pepper sauce for dipping. My dining companions got the chicken nachos and mango-Habanero bbq wings and once again they were crowd pleasers with big portions. Been in a handful of times over the years for drinks, finally stopped in for food. Typical cozy neighborhood Irish bar that seems to be getting some minor facelifts from time to time. For lunch we had the house made pizza logs. Now, I don't mind saying that I am definitely a pizza log connoisseur.. easily my favorite food of all time. I think these were the best I've ever had in my life. You only get 4, but they're oversized and the quality is out of this worrrld. Also had the Stuffed pepper burger that came with w banana pepper dipping sauce. Was really good, only caveat was they're overdoing the burgers, I said medium rare, it came out well done. I was pleasantly surprised to see the return of the neighborhood pub of my childhood in the new Potters Field. "Where everybody knows your name" as they said in the show 'Cheers'. It clearly has all ages and genders and a congenial atmosphere but on top of that, the food is beyond normal pub food in Buffalo. The chicken wings with Murphy sauce were far better than Bar-Bill, Duffs or Anchor Bar. They figured out how to make a wing crispy but still saucy; hot but not too vinegary or peppery. This is their secret sauce. The onion burger with onion soup to dip was also great. They had all the standard liquors and beers and a nice wine selection. A half bottle of wine is offered as well for those that want more than one glass and aren't beer drinkers. I live 8 miles way but I could easily see myself as a regular. There wasn't enough chicken and the waitress never asked whether I liked it mild, medium, or hot. It was definitely too hot for me. The waitress wasn't really attentive to our table. She was always MIA when we needed her. Towards the end when my friends and I were about to leave, we waited 15 minutes for our check and actually noticed she sat down at the bar to talk to other customers. Server came over and I mentioned that we were felt rushed as our meals were delivered when we barely finished our clams and I hadn't touched my soup yet. I sent the chicken back requesting it be remade. I also requested a side of mayo. Server said well I did asked for a cajun chicken, assuming she's blaming the cook.. Chicken was remade and served without the mayo. Server had to go back and get mayo. Once remade, chicken was ok. My boyfriend left most of the bland salad. What a disappointment. We loved this place the first time we were here. We won't be back. $60 before tip for mediocre food and service and we had to get our own water! Add to that the music was intermittently blasting. Totally unexpected, I went in with my brother-in-law in the middle of the day during the week and had a beer at the bar and ordered a beef on weck. I was reticent since my recent experiences with beef on weck have been lackluster in the last few years. I feel like restaurants are neglecting this Buffalo centric cuisine. It seems to have gotten worse over the last eight years when I moved here . The few I have had recently have been sinewy where you bite into the meat and all of it pulls out of the bun. How much do you hate that? This sandwich on the other hand was soaked in Au jus at the bottom - the roast beef was tender, the bun had the perfect salt /Caraway ratio for my taste - the fries were perfect - it was a great beef on weck experience. In the category of corner bar/neighborhood pub, I am giving this place five stars without hesitation. I wandered down here between the afternoon and evening wake for a family member that had recently passed. I just wanted a beer and a burger; and if they didn't have burgers, I was willing to settle for fryer food. I hadn't eaten anything all day. First of all, this place is really nice inside with what looks to be modern renovations, new chairs and tables - plenty of seating. There is also a nice little patio in back. The menu FAR exceeded my expectations for what, from the outside, appeared to be a simple corner bar. This was a full restaurant menu and with unique creations. Some of the tempting items included: their house burger with banana peppers mixed into the meat, a jerk chicken sandwich with pineapple and avocado, a grilled cheese that combined a variety of cheeses with prosciutto and tomato, an Irish BLT with corned beef, the Ms. Piggy with pulled pork, bacon, ham, sauteed onions and cheese, a coconut shrimp appetizer, and spaghetti squash as a seasonal special! I had to send the kind waitress away twice because I hadn't been prepared for these kind of options. I finally decided on Irish potato skins for an appetizer and the Turkey Club Croissant. For an extra $1, I upgraded the side of regular fries to sweet potato fries. Now, I have never liked sweet potatoes but I saw a pic of them on Yelp and they looked interesting. I love interesting, which gets me into trouble in regards to dating but with food, I'm usually OK. OMG. WOW! - and I've never liked sweet potatoes before. These waffle-cut fries come tossed in what I believe was honey and cinnamon. I'm salivating slightly as I write this; reminiscing about the wonderful aroma and the delightful taste. BEST WINGS IN BUFFALO? I stopped in for a couple of pints and a Sabres game the other night and was pretty impressed with this place. Mind you, I've been to Potter's Field before and have always have a good time, but we're talking short visits as I stopped in just to quench my thirst between stops in other bars. This time, however, I stayed the whole night and even ordered food. Service: The service is killer. It's a bar so it's not like the staff folds your napkin fancy for you or rubs your shoulders or anything while you sit there, but that staff was fast and friendly. Beer: The beer is cheap. Enough said. Food: I ordered a bucket of wings "Smitty Style" for my group. I was given the idea from another person and couldn't tell you what that meant before. But after tasting them, and also realizing that they were so good that it wouldn't be implausible to suggest that the Virgin Mary herself could roll up the immaculate sleeves on her robe and throw down a few flats, I figure Smitty Style means PERFECT. I had to go to the bar and get a drink then track down a waitress to get a table. Wasn't all bad, the waitress was quite nice and the food was decent. The fries came out cold and there were not very many at all which, was disappointing. At least my burger was not over cooked. We tried this place since it was resturaunt week but other than that not sure I would have given it a shot. I have a place like this at home, local dive where you call the bartender by name and act like you own the place, so I can't hate.
