    Teriyaki Salmon

This place has been on my list for quite some time, so our monthly lunch group finally agreed to make the trek to Alden. Lots of wood and a fireplace make the room cozy and inviting. I hadn't had salmon in a while, so that's what caught my eye. I couldn't choose between lemon pepper, teriyaki or bbq, so I had the waitress decide for me. Teriyaki it is. Very nice portion of salmon, tasty teriyaki sauce, good fries, and properly cooked asparagus. It's so easy to turn asparagus to mush, so this was impressive. Everyone was pleased with their food, especially the lobster bisque, which won rave reviews. Well thought out beer menu, which I guess is a must for a place with Tap in its name. I'd welcome a return visit.

Food was great service was awesome! They want my review to be at least 85 characters but there are only two of us here, me and my brother David so sorry

We used to go here for their fresh cut fries. The fries we were served today were anything but fresh. They were overcooked and hard. I am amazed that they even served them. Needless to say I did not eat them. They were Disgusting.

Came here with a large group, as a sidebar visit during our recent Buffalo Wing Trail trip. One of the gang had been here before and really enjoyed it, so the whole group tagged along for a late-night dinner gathering. We ordered several appetizers to share around the table, them my wife and I got a fish-n-chips dish and several wing flavors to try. Appetizers were decent with onion bites and buffalo cauliflower being the options chosen. The fish-n-chips platter was just okay with a huge piece of semi-crunchy fish and a terrible (sweet) tartar sauce. The accompanying fries were fresh cut, but mushy and obviously not fried long enough. The creamy cole slaw was good, however it was loose on the p[late and the juices ran onto the fish making it mushy. Also, there was a small dish of mixed veggies on the side and they were clearly a bag of the standard frozen kind you'd find at home. Of the wing varieties we tried, the hot garlic parmesan wings were okay, chiavettas wings were interesting with a super-vinegary sauce, but the best version were the sweet chili with plenty of tang and then a kick. Overall a decent meal and some at the table really loved what they ordered...but an average dining experience in my opinion.

Lobster bisque was amazing. Fish fry was delicious. The perfect cosmo hit the spot. Great service. Place was packed. Will definitely be back!

Hands down the best French onion soup I have had in Buffalo! Service was a little slow but I think they were short staffed and the service was still good enough to warrant returning. I love the feel of the interior - exposed wood beams and a working fire place for those colder days and nights that we experience in the Buffalo area!

On this visit we had the nicest waitress, the food wasn't as great as we remember but it wasn't horrible. The dinners didn't come with salad you had to pay extra for that. We wanted to tip the waitress nice but since we had an extra round we were $2 short, we really didn't want to short change her so put it on the Cc which then we find out they charge extra to do that a 3% increase which was way more than we were short. I gave her cash as a tip because I didn't want them to take 3% off her tip if I put that on the Cc. Wish they had signage somewhere then I would have ordered accordingly. Now I know don't use Cc.

My husband and I were in the area for another reason. We decided to stop in at this place for dinner later (after 8:30) on a Thursday evening. We were happy to see the kitchen was open because many places away from the city center tend to close earlier. Inside the bar area is separated on one side and the dining area on another. The dining area was about half full. We saw some familes in the dining area. And the bar was crowded. We shared an order of hot chicken wings and the Steak Gorgonzola Pasta. They have a number of taps for beer. It was nice to see a local beer - Big Ditch Hay burner - which I choose. I like to support local brews when I can. The service was attentive. The food came out quickly. The wings were hot and crispy. I asked for extra blue cheese and they charged me for it on the bill. The pasta seemed to have very little beef but it was a large portion of pasta.

While there I tried the Presto Pilsner & my husband got the Seriously Black Stout. When pouring his stout they realized the tank needed to be changed. They gave him what was left in the 1st tank and then gave him another full glass when the next was ready. Nice customer service. Both were tasty. I'd like to go back to check out some of their other choices. Maybe on a Wednesday night when they have a band out back, weather permitting. 2026-36

Did we eat too much? Yes! Yes, we did, and it was so good, too! My husband ordered the small piggy burger, and the fries with cheese and bacon. The thick cut strips of bacon over the cheese were outstanding, and the bacon cheeseburger was excellent. The lettuce was crisp and the tomato slice was ripe. We also ordered two classic burgers and two orders of regular fries (we have a teenager at home); I loved the dill pickles in that burger! The burger was juicy and flavorful! It took about 25 minutes for the order to be ready, but we were the first customers, and everything is cooked to order. Where does the bar's name come from? The owner has two daughters: One is nicknamed, "Shalooby", and the other, "Loofer". 6/27/26 was the first day they were serving lemonade! My husband had a pilsner he adored. Lots of people around us were coming outside with flights of beer in every shade of the brewery rainbow. There's no mistaking a blueberry ale! Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the backyard: There's a courtesy water bowl for the beasties. There's a single unisex bathroom for the entire bar and patio. At peak times, there may be a line. Parking on the street. There's an adjacent Farmer's Market with additional parking (in the evenings only).

We went inside and both ordered a flight. Found out they don't serve food but did have a big selection of chips to choose to I assume cover covid requirements. They only had about 1/2 a glass left of that and offered to give him another full glass of another kind. Actually turned out that was his favorite so we'll need to go back when they have more available. We sat outside in their back patio area. A few more people arrive but was still pretty quiet though I'm sure that changes later. No music playing but a nice day to sit outside. It is right in between a construction company, and the antique mall, so if you blink, you'll miss it. I drove past.
