Ordered two (2) Rockport outdoor dining chairs and a side table on May 12th and was told they were "in-stock" and would ship for receipt the first week in June. Online status says they shipped and the anticipated delivery date is now June 28th. Called customer service and got no answers. Seems to be a recurring theme with Pottery Barn and this location according to other reviews. I've been a customer for years, bought a lot of stuff from them and they just refuse to provide a straight answer. When looking for furniture items they have a good selection. Service can be wonderful or difficult when busy. I was purchasing floor lamp over a period of 2 weeks due to needing to go back home with measurements etc. once purchase was made lamp went price went up $30. I noticed this a few days later due to mult items purchased. Brought to their attention and they refunded the price increase with no problems. That was nice to experience. read more

Service was AWFUL! I've been in this store several times. I have ordered thousands of $$$$ worth of items from here and everytime the customer service is just horrible. Not sure if they treat their employees like second class citizens or what, but these ladies I have dealt with are miserable humans!! They don't even make eye contact. I was talking and telling a cute little story about getting to the store to pick up my items and this gal couldn't even look up. She made some snide remark about how a grabbed a hurricane candle off the display to purchase it. Did I do something wrong? If so, please let me know... She spent an hour helping me figure out my registry when an online problem occurred and trouble-shooted and called customer service herself to resolve my issue. She was so patient and so kind to me and I appreciated her dedication to service. I am so thankful I had her help me. Hope also was amazing- she stepped in when Daniella needed managerial support. She was so understanding, kind, and so helpful to me. I highly highly recommended both of these women as excellent communicators, customer service liaisons, and friendly problem-solvers. I placed an order for a couch and chair April 25th. The chair was in stock and the couch was a quick ship 1-5 weeks. Fast forward to today, 4 MONTHS later we are still waiting on both items. I've called numerous times only to hear the order is still awaiting another item when the online tracking system clearly says they are both at the distribution center! Called and spoke with someone who transferred me to the scheduler only to be left on hold 45 mins with no answer! This whole experience has been HORRIBLE and I will never again buy anything from PB. I advise you to do the same if you are reading this review. At least be honest and say you have no idea where these items are and they are never being delivered. read more

She performed the necessary steps to engage corporate to reverse shipping charges on the incorrect order and obtained the expired sale price on the reorder. This is specifically for Pottery Barn in the Edina, MN Galleria. I have shopped PB for years here in MN , FL, and internet, and have always enjoyed their stores and products. I would not say it is not top of the line but always fun and on trend. This was my first time in this particular store and I have to say it will be the last! Unfortunately it gave me a very poor taste for the brand and reading all the poor reviews of this store and many unhappy and unfulfilled customers makes me wonder how and why this store is even open. The sales personnel in this store seems uninterested and unavailable. Most employees hide behind computer screens and will totally ignore customers who are looking for assistance. Not sure what they are doing since they don't attempt to assist anyone in the store so I assume they are either checking their instagram or facebook page or perhaps playing solitaire? After finally finding someone to help me purchase 2 leather reclining chairs, which I had found on the PB internet site and this was the only store within 100 miles with the actual items in the store, the employee, L.L. had no knowledge of the product and gave me misinformation, which I knew was incorrect since I had thankfully researched the leather types ,colours and prices before going to buy. We usually like to purchase locally in store specifically to keep retail stores open and out of bankruptcy like so many others have done recently. Needless to say I did not buy the chairs and will be looking elsewhere for my furniture choices and sorry to say one bad apple Does spoil the whole bunch! read more

I purchase a Big Sur couch with chaise. I paid over $4000 for it. The chaise is not sturdy and sags after a couple of months. I did get a replacement chaise but the same thing has happened once again. The only option they are giving me is to replace the cushion. The cushion is not the problem. It's the way it was made. I feel like I need to put a board under the cushion to see if it helps give support. I'm so disappointed and would love to return it and get my money back. Does anyone have suggestions? read more

I am dumbfounded. I love Pottery Barn. I love the quality of their products and love their customer service, for the most part: however; I do NOT recommend using them for "IN HOME SERVICE." First of all, in Minnesota, they use Twin Cities Moving Inc. to ship their furniture items to their customers. This company has a 1.5 of 5 stars, online. They (the shipping company) had received my items in their warehouse on March 15, 2019, and never notified me for shipping. Once I had reached out to Potter Barn (Furniture Dept.) they contacted the company and were told that some of the items were not fully processed in their system and once they were they would contact me for shipment. I never heard from them. On March 27, 2019, I phoned Pottery Barn again asking for assistance with the shipping company. I was placed in contact with them. Their excuse to me for not reaching out was that they were TEXTING my home telephone number. I complained asking why they didn't call the number and they said that they text. They then told me that they had emailed me...just today! No email was ever located. I provided my cell phone number to them and then set up a date for delivery (April 6, 2019). They were to TEXT me yesterday to confirm delivery for today. No text. I did receive a hang up phone call from an unknown number. A quick Google search proved the number to be 651-905-1018...the shipping companies. They left NO message for me regarding the delivery. Now it is the 6th of April and I wait..... I have contacted both the shipping company (closed on Weekends) and Pottery Barn (twice today). Pottery Barn said they could not help me that I needed to speak with someone in furniture. They transferred me twice! After 15 minutes on the phone both times...the phone was disconnected by them. WHAT IN THE WORLD POTTERY BARN???? YOU CAN DO BETTER!!!! $3000.00 in furniture to be delivered by a company and set up in the home should be handled with more PROFESSIONALISM than this! Utterly disappointed. I can't even walk into this place. It is such a junk shop. Everything is made in China. All the employee's run around the place like its on fire and they can't find the exits. It never fails they have a sign that says something is at least 40% or an extra 30% except NOTHING is actually that cheap. I ask the sales person to find me the sale rugs that were an extra 40% off. It took 3 sales people several head phone calls and a request for the manager. No ONE could find these sale items and the manager never bothered to answer our request. I'll definitely give this place three stars and it's only because they carry beautiful products. I stopped in this afternoon with my product list in hand and ready to purchase (I generally like purchasing in store because I can get an extra discount or white glove service free), but there was not a single person around to help me. I mean how difficult is it to hire the correct amount of employees; I shouldn't have to walk around the store waiving my money around before someone approaches to offer assistance. Buyer beware with this store. I purchased over $5000 worth of furniture. The sales person told me that the purchase would be inTerest free for a year. This was a complete lie. I filed a claim with their credit company and was told that my purchase did not qualify for a promotion. Also, my furniture was supposed to be delivered in 90 days and I waited 5 months for it to arrive. Finally someone stole my credit card information and used it to make a purchase on Black Friday. That was resolved, but I still had to go through the hassle of filing a claim. I will never a shop at any Pottery Barm again and I have cut up my card. The Galleria location does have the arrogance you'd expect of an Edina retail mall and its staff. The store is completely generic and predictable, but when you have less than 48 hours to act (as I did yesterday), you can't always rely on Amazon to fulfill your shopping needs, even if that's your preference. I went into PB end of day, when there was absolutely no stress to the sales' staff, but do you think anyone would approach me for assistance (especially when two of them were babbling away at a register without anything else to do)? Not until after I circled the department a few times, an elderly clerk finally approached me, and then she demonstrated a lack of knowledge for inventory, price points, etc. for the item I was seeking. It's pathetic, especially when customer service should reign supreme in an increasingly on-line world where consumers can spare themselves the aggravation of this kind of retail graveyard. BTW, subsequently, I came to discover the clerk who approached me has her own "mission statement" for customer service and it's intended to help advance her clients' needs; absolutely laughable! I could go on, but it's not worth my time other than to direct you elsewhere. Please do yourself that favor. If you're looking for an item at Pottery Barn Galleria, glassware in particular, and you're in a time crunch, you may as well walk down the hall to Crate & Barrel. It's imperfect as well, but at least they have enough staff to provide some reliable customer service. That said, we want to thank Chad for being so helpful, joyful and patient with us as we picked out our 8x10 Barret neutral rug for our new living room wood floors. Chad is a very conscientious and kind person. Its always great to run into customer service people who enjoy what they do and care about your ultimate satisfaction. As we looked at various options and explained our color palate with hand gestures Chad seemed to figure it out and suggested the Barret Neutral which turned out to be spot on. As much as I love everything about this store... Decor, layout, furniture and so on, I can't say I'm incredibly impressed with the staff. There is always a huge staff on when I go in, and everyone always seems to be too busy to help me. I recently purchased an outdoor umbrella for my patio set, a giant outdoor citronella candle and a small glass candy dish. I was ready to checkout, and there was one person in line ahead of me. There were several employees behind the counter having phone conversations with call-in customers. Took me about 5 minutes to get someones attention. Then one of the ladies starts helping me, at the same time she is answering another phone line with a call from a customer. I understand when multitasking is required... But when your job is Customer Service and someone has been waiting for a while, wouldn't it seem appropriate to just let the phone ring for a bit or have someone else grab it?! But no, she yet then again picked up another call! Ohhh then the register has a malfunction, it's down... For some reason it got locked up and the woman working behind the counter kept complaining, and telling everyone who walking behind the counter about the issue. She didn't ask anyone for help. Maybe for about 5 minutes she just hit the keyboard, complained and punched buttons several times. After this episode she finally decided to get the manager. Manager came over and doddled around for about 5 minutes as well, and then her solution was to tell the woman helping me to use the lady's register next to hers. Well we waited about 5 minutes, and the employee finally noticed I was getting antsy, so after about 5 minutes of waiting for nothing she asked if I would like to move to a different register in the store. I said yes immediately! We moved across the store only to sit there for about 10 minutes while she rang me up and located a box for my glass candy dish. I would never go back if it was based solely on customer service... But I love the store and all of their products. Needless to say, I will probably making most of my purchases on-line from now on. We purchased a new home recently and spent an afternoon at Pottery Barn trying to figure out living room furniture and décor. We worked with Gail - she was very helpful with suggestions of products without making us feel pressured. We ended up pulling together a room that we never could have pulled off on our own as we completely lack any design sense. We did end up returning a couple things that didn't work out in our space and Robert was great in getting our things returned and refunded easily. We have been furniture shopping for months and ya'll know how much anxiety one can develop. I've been living and breathing and dreaming of couches and it's all become a big blur. Instead of counting sheep at night I count couches and chairs all in Plush, fur, deep, grand, linen, velvet. All couches look the same. Well, we walked into the Pottery Barn in Edina and had the pleasure of speaking to Debbie. The place was a zoo because of the holiday weekend sale going on. She was fabulous! Friendly and knowledgeable and just top notch! She took the time to show us some pieces and got us color swatches. She was also great at recommending what to pair with what and it was exactly what we dreamed of (no pun intended). She wrote up an estimate and was realistic with us about delivery and we got a nice discount that was going on for Presidents' Day. We went home to mull over colors and finalize our choices. We ended up opting for a slightly different style of couch and we quickly called Debbie to seal the deal and make the purchase. In our excitement we completely forgot to tell her we wanted the different couches. They were that similar, just different cushions. We didn't realize even our mistake until my husband was looking at the confirmation email later that evening, and mind you these couches were special order that would be difficult to change. We called Debbie again and told her our oversight. We were not very hopeful that anything could be changed at that point. But Debbie was able to sort it out and make the changes before they could finalize! We are elated! We can't wait to get our gorgeous new furniture! DO NOT SHOP AT POTTERY BARN/WILLIAMS-SONOMA!!!! We purchased an item online in August. The first one that arrived was the wrong color. We contacted them, took the item back to the local store and they shipped the new one to us. It was the correct color, but was missing the parts to put it together! We called to ask for them to ship the parts. They said they would do so. Didn't happen. We called again to ask again. They said they would do so. Didn't happen. We called yet a third time only to be told the item was no longer available, so there weren't even any that could be broken down to get the parts to send to us. We were told we could get a refund if we would take our time to take it to Pottery Barn, which is a long way from our home. My wife called a today to ask that they arrange shipping, to include a box or that they simply refund our money for a defective item. He wouldn't do it. When I got on the phone and got quite serious with the customer service guy, he was no help. He kept telling me he "understood". I don't need to be "understood"; I need this fixed. I demanded to send the call up to a higher level. He told me he was hanging up on me because I wasn't on the order!!!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!! My review is NOT about the Galleria store (in the main) but about Pottery Barn's online service, and the complete lack of judgment they allow their sales folks. We have spent literally thousands of dollars on bath fixtures, lighting, etc. in the past few months. We neglected to include a couple of large items in our recent order, when the nearly-always-on sale offered 20% off. We called within an hour to add the items and were told the sale price was not available. We've made several attempts to get people in their CS group to use their brains - not allowed evidently. Of course it's now been weeks since the ever-present-sale has been on and we are holding up parts of our project. Bottom line: if you are going to order from PB, be careful to include everything and for god's sake don't count of judgment when it comes to customer service. read more

I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a manager than at pottery barn Edina, Minnesota . I had a $400lamp that was defective. The base of this metal lamp was filled with plaster and covered with plastic. The plaster inside cracked and crumbled and the plastic broke-unbelievable! I asked to have it repaired,replaced or compensated. The manager said she would follow up and investigate what pottery barn could do and she would contact the Sarasota Florida since I have the lamp in Florida. I waited for 4 weeks and she didn't follow up. She claimed she had called Sarasota's store and they were following up. I told her they didn't and asked her to call sarasota again and tell me the the status and outcome of the call. She said she would and didn't call me back. I called the store again and they said she would call back because she was with a customer. She never called me back and she has misled me for 6 weeks. I find this rude ,unprofessional and unacceptable behavior especially after just spending over $3000 at Sonoma and Pottery Barn in the last 6 months.
