Just went to the new location...they will have the Grand Opening on May 9th but are having a soft opening now. 1620 Battleground Avenue. Brandon is super helpful and very friendly and the third generation of family making delicious cakes, pies and sweet treats. Tried the butter and vanilla cakes, both were excellent although I believe vanilla was my favorite. The cakes are extremely light and have a soft mouth feel, I really enjoyed the consistency and prefer it over some of the very dense pound cake I've had in the past. The taste will conjure up childhood memories for anyone raised in the south. It is a convenient location near Kickback Jacks and Ghassan's. Tried 2 different cakes today and didn't see anything but an inflated priced dry cake that I had to drink iced tea with. Definitely just mid at best and not worth 8$ for the small piece I received. We happened upon this place by accident one day. A HAPPY ACCIDENT! Unfortunately, we came toward the end of the day and most of the cakes were gone so I wasn't able to sample many of them. However, the ones I did sample were absolutely delicious. In fact, #SuperHubs said if we ever have to bring a pound cake for a party, we'll be purchasing it from Legacy. When we first entered, I realized that the mask was mandatory. I'm assuming it's because the space is so small, but I'm okay with that. The smell was enough to make me wanna stay even while wearing a mask. Those delicious scents wafting from the kitchen were a beacon! The lady who assisted us was super friendly and told us her faves, so we purchased a couple of different kinds based on her recommendation. I admit, she was right and we were pleased! First time visiting. But it will not be the last time this week!!! Going back Saturday!!! Had the Lemon Pound Cake. It was an Absolute family favorite due to my aunt Amy. It's been about 15 years since I last had my aunt Amy's cake. But if I remember correctly it tasted exactly as this cake does. They really exceeded all expectations. WOW! I love lemon so of course had to try the lemon pound cake. I had the choice of with glaze or without....so of course glaze! The slice is huge but very light and fluffy for a pound cake. They also had some monster sized cookies that looked yummy too, but today was all about the pound cake. This store is very clean, if you arrive there at noon you will need to wait since she will be finishing baking her amazing cakes. The food or the cakes are to die for... my favorites are the rum cake and the cheesecake. The customer service is amazing, just be mindful to wear a mask before you go thru the door, the owner would prefer you to wear one. Her claws are delicious and beautiful. Her family runs the business and they are welcoming and helpful in choosing. The mixer hums in the background, that and a few of the cake covers being fogged from warm cake assure you that the cakes are made onsite daily. The smell makes one mindful of Grandma's kitchen.
