    Dry like the desert ...
    D. D.

Tried 2 different cakes today and didn't see anything but an inflated priced dry cake that I had to drink iced tea with. Definitely just mid at best and not worth 8$ for the small piece I received. So far the best cake to me is still in high point at Dot and Pearls 141 W Lexington Ave, High Point, NC 27262.

Service is quick and servers are friendly. I went during Easter/ Resurrection weekend and they had decorations up. I ordered the banana pudding pound cake to go. The cake was moist and paired perfectly with the topping on it. I tossed my bag a bit before getting a chance to eat it so I messed up the presentation but I would definitely order again.

We happened upon this place by accident one day. A HAPPY ACCIDENT! Unfortunately, we came toward the end of the day and most of the cakes were gone so I wasn't able to sample many of them. However, the ones I did sample were absolutely delicious. In fact, #SuperHubs said if we ever have to bring a pound cake for a party, we'll be purchasing it from Legacy. When we first entered, I realized that the mask was mandatory. I'm assuming it's because the space is so small, but I'm okay with that. The smell was enough to make me wanna stay even while wearing a mask. Those delicious scents wafting from the kitchen were a beacon! The lady who assisted us was super friendly and told us her faves, so we purchased a couple of different kinds based on her recommendation. I admit, she was right and we were pleased! The place was clean and neat and decorated in the cutest colors (black, white, & teal green). If you're looking for an excellent pound cake, go by there and try 'em!

    Lemon pound cake with glaze

WOW! I love lemon so of course had to try the lemon pound cake. I had the choice of with glaze or without....so of course glaze! The slice is huge but very light and fluffy for a pound cake. They also had some monster sized cookies that looked yummy too, but today was all about the pound cake. I will be back to try other flavors and maybe a cookie eventually, if I can get past the cakes!

The best place to get a pound cake. The cake is moist and decadent. The variety of cakes offer is extraordinary. Lemon pound cake, bubble gum, chocolate hazelnut, strawberry, and much more. Each flavor I've tried was amazing. The interior is clean, organized, and well decorated. Highly recommend!

Wasn't a big fan of the icing or toppings, but the pound cake itself was really good!

First, to help you understand how my experience went, I had not had cheesecake (which I love) since…read moregoing plant-based in December 2017. I only went to Cheesecakes by Alex because it was the meeting place selected by someone I was meeting with. I thought I would grab a tea, have the meeting, and then leave. However, nothing went as planned. Lol First, I am a "sucker" for eclectic vibes, which is the ambiance that the Elm St. location gives. The inside has a large mural on the wall, it has rustic flooring and furniture, and it is nothing like what I had pictured. I thought I would encounter a more "refined" place where everyone had their pinky in the air because of how everyone raved about Alex and his freaking cheesecake. Gracious! I completely understand now. I mean, I get it. Lol So after the meeting, this roughly drawn menu reeled me in because it had CHAI TEA. That's my jam. Once I had a sip of my delicious hot Chai tea with almond milk, I KNEW everything else was probably tasty, so I (in a reserved way) ordered an apple muffin. The muffin smelled divine, so I inquired (because I HAD to lol) about the best-selling cheesecakes. The cashier smiled at me and directed me to the Bourbon Pecan and the White Chocolate Raspberry flavored cheesecakes. They were $6 per slice, and I couldn't decide, so I had her pack both. I had a long day planned, so I had to take the slices home and refrigerate them. I almost forgot about them until around 10:30 when I had a sweet craving, and...have mercy! BOTH cheesecakes were velvety smooth, flavorful, and decadent. The Bourbon Pecan was heavenly. I could definitely taste its unique flavor pairings, and it had enough pecans. I also loved the buttery crust. The White Chocolate Raspberry was rich and creamy, with the tang of the raspberry exactly where and when you need it in every bite. I had to take bites out of each, you know, to treat them fairly. Lol Although I paid dearly for eating too much dairy, it was worth the experience. Sometimes, you just have to eat the lactose pill and jump in! I'm so glad I did. Now you know that Cheesecakes by Alex is Kiesha Speech approved. Hands down, they are bringing more than flavor. Cheesecakes by Alex is bringing the "flava!" I hear there are several locations in NC. I hope you can try one near you.

I ordered an americano, alongside the sausage roll, the chocolate almond croissant, and the oranais, a traditional apricot filled pastry. Each croissant was flaky, buttery, and flavorful, washed down by the americano, leaving nothing to be desired. To top it off, the pastries were enjoyed on a beautiful, sunny day among the patio seating within the alleyway.
