First time trying the lemon pound cake and it was delicious! I'll definitely be coming back to try the others

Sad this is what you get for $125!

Witsend Bakery - The best ever-Banana Pudding Cake

The cake was moist and the pudding frosting was creamy and delicious. It was a HUGE hit with all of the guests! Julia Child once said, "A party without cake is just a meeting." I think WitsEnd Bakery's purpose…read moreis to ensure more of our days are filled with parties. This artisan bakery has undergone all health and department of agriculture inspections and been approved to prepare baked goods for wholesale and private sale. If you've never ordered a cake from a home bakery, we will walk you through the process we followed step by step. For our family, it started with deciding what type of cake my mom would like for her birthday, my dad would like for his birthday, and both parents would enjoy for their anniversary. My parents love old fashioned layer cakes with mountains of airy frosting. We browsed the photos and list of cake flavors in the Notes section on the WitsEnd Facebook page. Mom decided upon a coconut cake for her birthday. This was no ordinary coconut cake. Dubbed Grandma's Coconut Cake, the enticing dessert had been soaked for two days to saturate the cake with coconut flavor, then iced in a fluffy frosting and covered in flaked coconut. Six glorious layers of moist cake were slathered in a towering light-as-air frosting. Vicki Crouser, the owner of WitsEnd, has a contact number for the business on Facebook. We called, placed our order, and arranged a date to pick up the cake. When you work with any home bakery, due to restrictions you won't be able to pick up a cake directly at their home. You will arrange a time and public place for the cake delivery. This was quite convenient for us. Jerry met Vicki at the New Town Square shopping center at an agreed upon time on a day he planned on running other errands. Dad adores fruit .The Banana Pudding Cake was a perfect choice for his birthday treat. Four layers of sumptuous banana cake were filled with creamy banana frosting and vanilla wafer crumbles. This lavish sweet was hand delivered neatly in a labeled, sealed, cardboard cake box. If you don't finish the cake in one sitting, plan on making room in your refrigerator. All of the WitsEnd cakes use fresh butter and eggs. My parent's anniversary cake was a meeting of the minds so to speak. The Mandarin Orange Cake had the mandarin orange pieces my mom loves and the pineapple my dad cannot resist. The confection was an ambrosial tropical paradise. With all three cakes, we had no issues ordering or picking up the desserts. Vicki was always on time to deliver her box of sugary bliss. The WitsEnd Bakery Facebook also showcases beautifully decorated custom cakes for weddings and themed birthday parties. They make a variety of cookies like chocolate mint, chocolate berry, peanut butter tap taps, chocolate chip, gingerbread, and molasses. Several local restaurants serve WitsEnd Bakery cakes. For your next special occasion, veer away from the grocery store and head towards a local baker like WitsEnd bakery. I settled on a Barbecue Chicken Cheddar Melt, which was decent. It had a ton of meat on it and that was hard to eat. I had to pull several slices off to make it where I could eat it without feeling like I was choking. The chips were a yummy and crunchy side. I also got a slice of coconut cake which was delicious and reminded me of times with my grandma years ago. Overall it's a nice place for a yummy slice of cake or a quick sandwich for lunch, but it doesn't give the comfy cozy feel of a bakery at all. It's rather cold, honestly. Clean and beautiful, but cold. The servers are always super sweet, helpful, and do an excellent job!

I tried both the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. They were pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary, but solid and satisfying. The prices were reasonable, which is always a plus. I wouldn't recommend this spot for a big group, as there isn't much seating. Tables are small and better suited for about four people or fewer. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. However, I do have to be honest, the mac and cheese side was not good at all. Unfortunately, that was a miss for me, so I'd suggest skipping that item. Overall, everything else I tried was good, the service was great, and it's a nice spot for a coffee, bakery and or quick breakfast or sandwich stop.

I have been to the Lewisville Clemmons Road spot several years ago, and loved the ice cream there. I have not had a banana spilt from Sam's so I decided I would try that. I wanted to compare it with the one I recently had at TJ's Deli. This was a very nice split - 3 scoops of ice cream and all the usual toppings. Everything tasted fresh, there were multiple layers of flavor, the texture added to the total enjoyment - it all came together beautifully! I thought this split was comparable to TJ's, though TJ's was a bit cheaper. I would definitely recommend this split, though it is a bit wasted on me due to the size, and obviously it is not a savable item, needs to be shared!

They always have a fun assortment of flavors of cupcakes but it's rather hit or miss what quality you will get. They have fun combinations and flavors and are always beautiful, but sometimes they are quite dense, sometimes super moist, and sometimes dry and will nearly choke you. My default cupcake is always the yellow cake with chocolate icing. I feel like it's hard to mess up. However, I tried a cookie this most recent time and didn't love it. It was really thick and hard to eat. The flavor wasn't great, either. This is definitely somewhere to stop in and try- just to say you did it. They were on Cupcake Wars, after all.
