Don't waste your money at this "establishment". They knowing prepare and serve rotting ingredients and do not follow any sort of healthy preparation practices. If an employee brings anything up they are told to keep quiet or they are fired on the spot. Not to mention the constant issues with some of the staff being discriminatory towards people whom do not fit their ideal clientele. read more

We had the most amazing dinner last night at the Pour House Bar & Grill. I've never been disappointed by anything Chef Lino's creates. I had the Pollo Relleno (10oz Chicken breast stuffed with cheddar and jack cheese. Panseared to a crisp and finished in the oven) with grilled asparagus and sautéed spinach and mushrooms (All of it is Keto friendly!!) Super Yummy, perfectly cooked (ignore the pink neon lighting) and it fit perfectly into my Keto diet. My husband had the Special- Filet beef stroganoff. Food was okay. Drinks were fine. The staff was weirdly hostile and judgmental. It started with them thinking my girlfriends I.D was fake and wanted to double check which is understandable as a business to keep there license. However after they decided that it was a real I.D (which it is) they treated us strangely and standoffish. Like guys. If this was a sting. You gave us the alcohol you woulda failed. I had a great time at this place with a group of classmates. We came on a Thursday (before this whole pandemic started) for karaoke night and it was tons of fun!! There wasn't much people that day so we go to take over the karaoke and play as many songs as we liked. I'm giving it a two star because my first beer has a bug in it and it was super gross. My wife and I came here on a Wednesday afternoon a few weeks back just looking for a drink, and since we live around the corner from this place, decided to give it another shot. We had been here once before a few years ago, and did not know what to expect upon trying it again. The remodel done on the place looks fantastic - much better than it was previously. The drinks are fairly priced and the food was delicious - albeit pricey. That would be my only complaint, although considering the quality of items on the menu, the prices are reasonably set. Sat for 20 minutes at the bar waiting for the bartender to take our order, but neither one of them even acknowledged us and we were flat out ignored the entire time and they knew we were waiting because eye contact was made. They continued serving everyone else, though. We ended up leaving without being acknowledged nor served. Just straight up ignored on purpose and I believe it was prejudice towards us for how we look. read more

Wow. I was not expecting to find 5 star food in a local bar. My friends told me the food was delicious but it was even better than I was expecting. This food could easily be served at a up scale restaurant. There is definitely a chef preparing the food. Huge servings, lots of options, friendly service. I'm sure it could be very loud on a Friday or Saturday night, but it was quite nice on a week night. It's a small place, but well worth a visit for dinner. read more

I absolutely used to love pour house HOWEVER, i am now a resident of Santa Barbara and recently had my closest friends ( we are celebrating my engagement) come to bakersfield ( my home town) to see the bars i love! We get to the door get carded ( WE ARE ALL 21+years old) where we get to the bar and get carded again, saying our IDs are fake. I personally am a bartender myself & did not appreciate the way this employee (mustache young man) handled the situation... i understand this is his job and he doesn't want to put in on the line HOWEVER how are we supposed to go somewhere that can't recognize a real Id? What is going on pour house? I miss the OGs .... and i wouldn't be writing this review if it didn't ruin our whole night! Sad my friends didn't get to experience my ( what used to be) favorite bar! Went for dinner for the first time last night !!! Had SPICY QUESO PASTA and wow ! I am not much for spicy food but this pasta had the right level of heat wherein you could still savor the flavor! Love how they have the bar right there & then to pair it w Chef Linos amazing food, it is a perfect pair! Oh my god the salmon & garlic mashed potatoes - holy cow that was amazing!! I hate mashed potatoes but Chef Linos were beyond amazing! Had so much flavor & was soft! The tossed salad w their special green salsa is great! The bacon wrapped jalapeños w chorizo was a great option too! Pork Barbacoa was delicious!! Tri tip was super soft & was full of flavor! Garlic & cheese crostinis were delicious! But man, I told my fiancé that our next date will be here just to try his amazing food! Pretty far from our house but I do not mind the drive at all! After new owners came in and turned this place around, I have to admit that this place is improved to the 10th power on the food and the service. Chef Lino is one of the best guys in the area for excellent food. In the past two times I have arrived here for dinner or lunch, the specials and whatever is on the menu has improved. Writing this review on behalf of my mother and her partner who went to go eat here earlier this month. She was excited to try this place out but was unfortunately met with rude, unwelcoming service from the servers and bartenders. They not only ignored them, which resulted in them seating them selves but also proceeded to give them unwelcoming stares as they continued to service other who came in who were primarily different than them. After feeling so uncomfortable they left without ordering food (they promptly serviced customers that came in after them). So just be aware of this place as they have had a history of treating customers differently (other reviews have stated similar experiences). Hopefully no one has to hear that their parents are experiencing this type of treatment. read more

I'm fairly certain I could have gotten my $22 flavorful yet thin steak much less elsewhere. And I would be willing to bet it would be served on stoneware vs. the paper plate that it was served on. A straight up Okie bar. I've been meaning to check off the Pour House from my local dive bar bucket-list. I mean - it's the Pour House! With nearby landmarks like Gas Wars and the mega Baptist church, this gem is a bonafide redneck tourist attraction. Weekend karaoke and Sunday BBQ's. There's every kind of American (ish) beer available... in plastic cups of course. Two bartenders on a Saturday night do little for the crowd. As does the 1am last call. The crowd on a Saturday night was much younger than I would have thought. I had imagined a Lone Oak crowd complete with leather faced menthol-smoking cougars. The average age of the evening was probably more around 30. Perhaps that's quite different than the weekday after-work crowd. Break out the wranglers, shine up those boots, and take your lifted pickup to the car wash (if it can fit) - you've got a date, and her name is the Pour House. read more

This is a hot spot for Fridays and Saturdays for karaoke from 9-1! The place gets busy around 10 to 10:30 and then you will have to deal with a line outside if the max capacity has been met. But they go through the lines pretty fast though. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because it gets a little stuffy in there when there are max people and also not a lot of places to sit when you're outside having a smoke.
