The eggs were scrambled with some truffle business and were so creamy, tasty and perfect. And this is after buying it, and taking it on the bus with me to work and not eating it until half hour later and it was STILL excellent. Today I had their Bacon Breakfast sandwich, and it was also SO delish. The egg was a perfect "over-medium" (I didn't specify this when ordering, that's just how it came), there was plenty of crispy bacon, lettuce, a slightly sweet & savoury tomato jam, something called BUTTER CHEESE (yes, you read that right!) all on a golden toasted brioche bun. I have often seen Sweet Thea baked goods at places like Farmers markets or Xmas Craft fairs and have always been curious about their stuff. Really happy that they have an actual shop now where you can order, have the food warmed up and sit down to enjoy it on the spot. Doesn't hurt to also be able to order a nice hot drink to go with the food as well! They do more than just baked goods at this cafe too. They have things like sandwiches and soups as well. When I went in, they had not just 1 daily soup, but 3 soups of the day to offer. There was Ham and Split pea, Butternut Squash, and...can't exactly remember the third. Something with mascarpone in it is all I remember. There are sooo many wonderful treats to choose from at this place, both savory and sweet. I chose a small quiche and a London Fog to go with it. My quiche had butter leeks, asparagus, gruyere cheese and thyme in it. I considered ordering some soup to go with it as well but then decided I would just start with the drink and quiche, then see if I had room afterwards to go back for some soup. Good thing I waited. The drink and the quiche turned out to be plenty filling enough already. If I want to try a soup next time I think I'd better be prepared to bring home leftovers of whatever baked good I might order to go with the soup. The quiche was really yummy and I loved the generous size of my London Fog drink. It was served in a nice, big cup. This was a great place to get a simple yet filling lunch. I came here on a Sunday morning and the place was packed. There was a long line and not one empty table. All of the items looked delectable and the prices were very reasonable. Pre-ordered their seasonal pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving dinner and it was a hit! This is a good place to stop for coffee and to pick up holiday favorite pastries for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plus I appreciate that they donate unsold baked goods to local charities and help out the community, it's a solid promise that they make their pastries fresh. Cinnamon bun is still one of my favorite item to pick up here. Ambiance is also very cozy for reading a book here. This is my new go to spot for meeting friends/family for a coffee and pastry in Vancouver. Parking is quite easy on Main St (or at least it's free). They have an amazing selection of fresh baked goodies/pastries and you can grab a loaf to go or some local vendors' goodies too (Maple Syrup, jams, etc.) The space is huge and bright, and you can see the bakers baking. There is a lot of seating (however it does get busy later in the morning!) The people who work the till don't seem the most friendly/interested, I'd add, and despite it being slow when I've been, won't bring you out your drink (which is fine, but as a former barista, if it was slow I'd do this and back then we didn't work for tips). Very pretty decorum and very sturdy chairs. Tried a large Americano (too weak/light ) for my taste and my friend and I shared the Chocolate Pistachio Mousse and Vanilla Raspberry Lemon. This is my favorite coffee shop now. I have had the baked stuff at farmer markets before they open this location. The bread is baked fresh daily and it is so good. I love their pastries and cakes and coffee too. Not into the hot chocolate as it is too sweet and not that chocolatey for me. For reference, I prefer Blenz, Thomas Haas and Thierry dark hot chocolate. They use Koko Monk hot chocolate here. The place is spacious but it gets very busy in the morning after 930 am, even on weekdays. It is quieter in the late afternoon but that means the breakfast and lunch menu is unavailable too. I like that they also carry other local producers' products like honey and coffee beans etc. there is a table of books if you want something to read. Such a great place to have in the area. The space is open and inviting with a large window that allows you to watch their bread makers at work. My daughter loved sitting and watching them pat the bread and set portions into trays. I've been here on several occasions and their treats are reasonably priced and delicious. On my most recent visit I tried their chocolate hazelnut babka and it was everything I wanted it to be. The perfect amount of chocolate with a good amount of hazelnut chunks with a fun knot of dough to made it easy to pull apart and share. I've tried babkas at another well known Ukrainian bakery and Sweet Thea's was much sturdier and fulfilling. It was $6 and I would return for this. They have a loyalty program that allows you to collect points with dollars spent to redeem for items such as macarons or cookies. Definitely makes visits here more fun! read more

Bunch of us watched them make bakery stuff (round loaves) while drinking our coffees. Staff were friendly and professional. No complaints. My friend couldn't stop gushing about the coffee here. I usually like the service I receive at ST. Yesterday was a huge exception. I asked for three things and all three went wrong. I asked for a decaf cappuccino with oat milk, a couple hours later I felt ill, they had forgotten about the oat milk and used regular milk (I bought my friend same with regular milk so the person on cash punched it in as regular) They cut my bread without asking me. Usually they ask first, and they forgot about an order I had to go ask for it! With so many people looking for summer jobs and full-time jobs surely ST can hire people who actually care about customer service! I would not be putting this over the bread, but to feel ill for the rest of the evening because the staff member was lazy is not OK! And by the way we went there when they were not busy at all. There is another coffee shop nearby but I don't see too many families there. The service was great, place is bright and clean. They have a great selection of pastries, some desserts and drinks. The first phone message at 8 am Christmas Eve reminded me to pick up my pies by 2 pm. The second phone message came 30 minutes later saying, 'We are so sorry but we don't have your pre-ordered pumpkin pie, you can have another type of pie, cookies or a refund." Sweet Thea Bakery is in fact a bakery, you can observe the creation of their various cool cakes and baked treats as it happens from the inside seating - cool factor A+. A great deal of thought has gone into the flow and design of the bakery. They offer a substantial selection of delicious options, plus coffee house favourites and some Mile high cakes. Some seating inside and out, it was quite busy so we could find a table. Service staff was very friendly and the coffee came up quickly. We shared a super zesty lemon danish and blueberry scone, both excellent. My Americano was decent but I found it to be a little too hot, it burnt my tongue even though I had added Cream. Despite being busy it was super clean, you get the feeling it is a popular spot. I've been past this spot maybe 200 times and never noticed it, tucked away on Main Street. We will be back! read more

Simply one of the best, and a gold standard in my book. Our first encounter was at the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal 3 years ago, and the memory of that experience left a deep imprint in our noggins. Since then, my Husband and I have followed this business, and have purchased their goodies from local farmers markets and special events. I was so thrilled to learn that they opened up a shop in Vancouver during a recent trip! Located conveniently on Main St., the storefront has big wide windows so you can see all the wonderful creations from the street. We loved their croissants every time, so we grabbed a few of those this time. Pain au chocolat and almond croissants were delicious as usual, and executed flawlessly. Even getting them towards the end of the day yielded the same fluffy and crispy texture that we love. They also had lemon meringue cream puff that was fantastic as well. That might be a limited offering, but if you see it, I highly encourage you to try it out. It's equal parts tangy and sweet and the meringue is soft and airy. If you love savory, their ham and cheese croissant is really good too. It contains the perfect balance of butter and salt from the ham and cheese. One is definitely big enough for 2 people to share. Service is friendly, quick, and accommodating. Parking can be a little challenging if you come during the afternoon hours. Got a nice big haul of pastries and some cakes here for thanksgiving and we really enjoyed most of their baked goods, especially the croissants, but the cakes were a little bit too heavy on the buttercream and could not live up to the standard of a nearby bakery. They had a promotion for buy 3 croissants get one free so naturally, I got three including 2 ham and cheese, one chocolate and a free almond croissant. The almond was my favourite as there were plenty of sliced almonds on top. The frangipane filling was a bit sweet but the pastry itself was not too buttery making it a great treat! We also got the apricot danish and the green eggs and ham breakfast buddy, both well enjoyed by their eaters :) For their cakes, we tried out their cherry pistachio and the tuxedo cakes. The tuxedo was a classic with layers of vanilla mousse, chocolate buttercream, white and chocolate cake. Their cake layers are moist and dense but very delicious while the buttercream was much too hard and thick. It was like eating a brick of butter!! After removing this part, the rest of the cake was delicious! As for the cherry pistachio, it had a chocolate cake base with layers of chocolate mousse and pistachio filling. Again, I found the buttercream over the top too hard and thick but the rest of the cake tasted good. The balance of cherry to chocolate was delicious but the pistachio didnt really stand out. Overall, I will definitely return for their pastries and would love to try the bread but may not return for their cakes. read more

I even arrived 7 minutes early and they said they weren't open yet because I was so eager to try their cakes! Haha. I purchased two different cake slices- chocolate pistachio and lemon raspberry. Both were so fresh and very well made! Both slices were so flavourful and delicious! I never had chocolate and pistachio in a cake flavour together and they made it very well! The lemon raspberry is always a good mix. I could really taste the freshness of the ingredients that they use. I also love that they use local quality ingredients! I went to the location at Tsawwassen terminal. I got a 12oz caramel macchiato for $5, not the cheapest coffee I've gotten but I knew what I was getting into getting ferry food lol. The cashier was very friendly and the wait was small, and the place was clean. Didn't get any of the treats, but the macarons looked delicious. Simply put - this place is amazing. the BEST christmas mince pies! My mother made her own pastry and fruit mixture, and Sweet Thea's come pretty close to my mother's perfect mince pies! Not too sweet and not sugary like so many other bakeries and pre packaged products. These christmas mince pies made our holiday season so much better! The Sweet Thea Bakery coffee kiosk at the ferry terminal is a big disappointment. We used to look forward to stopping there when it was run by a Gulf Islands group. The coffee blend was bad tasting and not hot. The Chai tea was also lukewarm. The chai was replaced by a grumpy kid. Not returning there. Ended up throwing both in the trash can. Amazing selection of baked goods. The Bird's Nest "Jammers" cookies are a must try. I'm not normally into these types of cookies (my wife is) but they taste like little mini raspberry crumbles. Best I've ever had and very addicting with tea. Other cookies and baked breads are also very good. If you try a selection of at least a few things, you should get addicted to something.
