The bakery is now under new owner. Due to inflation, price has increased substantially for my favourites such as cinnamon buns, cheese biscuits, pies and all. Service is still good and my favourite baked goods still taste similar as before but in smaller portion now. That is the reality when we are facing inflation. One suggestion I told the serving clerk to perhaps put a sign to separate freshly baked ( such) cookies from days old products. I went there on a Tuesday morning around 10 am and I bought a pack of shortbread cookies. I took it to the car and my husband tried one right away and found the supposedly crisp cookies were quite soft. He said these were not freshly baked. So I went right back to the bakery and told them what my husband said. The manager agreed to give me back the refund and the serving clerk told me the fresh cookies will be ready in late afternoon and the one I bought was baked over the weekend. I believe it is important for the bakery to separate the daily baked fresh products from the rest. read more

I had an appreciated, and much-enjoyed visit to 'Mundy Park Bakery' during some early-morning shopping in this area of Coquitlam yesterday. The stop at the bakery had been placed high on my to-do shopping list, and provided the opportunity for daughter and I to browse, and get a good first look inside the bakery, and check out the various products. Plus, at this time, it was a very special stop as well -- I was seeking some treats for Mom's birthday. We had a great look around - with the wonderful sights and aromas really tickling our senses! I purchased an 'Apricot Torte' (colourfully-decorated, white cake, with an apricot brandy flavouring), and a 'Blueberry Ring' (so appealing, large, 'fruity' pastry). Service was friendly and cordial, and the bakery products nicely-displayed and reasonably priced. 'Mundy Park Bakery' provided some great-looking bakery goodies to celebrate my lady's birthday 'weekend'. Looking forward to the first unveilings, and tastes coming up later today! p.s. I have shopped at this bakery for 30 years. Goods were always fresh & good. Recently new owners took over. Quality now horrible. Got birthday cake for my wife. Cake was stale & tasted like mouldy carboard. When we complained, owner said cakes put back in freezer at end of day and kept for 7 days. Still selling them as fresh goods? Other items no longer any near the quality of previous owners. I've ed better food to my dogs. read more

This was my third time visiting this place. I stopped by coming from grocery store nearby, I used to like this place not anymore. I purchased 6-pack of cinnamon roll (no icings), and the lemon square bar. On the way home walking I decided to take a bite on bar, I had pulled out very thick grey hair out from inside of the lemon square bar. Heck, if you are going to sell ridiculously expensive baked goods, at least invest on head cover for the baker. read more

Curry chicken pockets are to die for, even tho quite mild. Have some fresh and get some from the freezer to cook yourself at home. I only eat eclairs from this bakery -they are so fresh and have real whipping cream. When rushed for time I get pizza dough from the freezer here. Try the home-made tasting cinnamon buns (cream cheese or glazed) and the endless variety of breads and pastry. Having company but no time to make dessert? Get something that really tastes like home here. Prices are reasonable and the people behind the counter are kind (will even open door for you if you have someone disabled with you or a ton of packages). Tip: Go earlier in the day if you have something specific in mind as this place is popular with locals! read more

Hi, Im going to start this off by saying i used to work at this bakery and i have a few things to say. #1 most of the stuff they say is homemade is not. For example, the sausage rolls, some seasonal cookies with sugar on top (and others, the list just goes on.) The boss that worked there was so rude and all the people there hated her (for good reason) But of course they would never say it. And the boys who clean in the back have to work in disgusting conditions. This is how they clean the floor for example, they put water on the floor leave it there for a bit then take a bench scraper which is the same ones that they use to cut the bread dough etc. and they scrape the muck off the floor. It's disgusting and they end up with a bucket of slush and dirt and god knows what else. they also only use gloves sometimes. (this is all not their fault AT ALL but managements.) that's all the space i have to write but i could go on for hours. I am only writing this in hopes for the people that work there so they will get better conditions, and better hours too. One more thing , this job is so bad that new people have walked out mid shift because they litterally couldn't take it anymore. And i will say the food there tastes good yes, but its unsanitary in my opinion and other workers too, and something just really needs to be changed. An apple slice turnover, chocolate eclair and a cinnamon bun w/ plenty of cream cheese icing, for just a little over $5, that's a steal. Or a deal. The eclair dough side could've been softer, but the whipped cream made up for it. Liked how the server put each item in separate bags. Accept credit/debit cards. read more

This is a gem of a bakery. They have the best cinnamon buns in Coquitlam. I really like the cream cheese version. And they have lots of other baked goods. Stumbled upon this little bakery while stopping at Starbucks. What a great find! Everything looked so yummy and it was so hard to choose what to indulge in. Decided on the curry pocket and a cheese stick, both of which were so very scrumptious. For my lunch dessert I opted for a very tasty gingerbread man. He was exactly what I wanted. Was looking for lunch and found this bakery next to Gem Sushi. I looked them up here on Yelp and saw that they didn't have any pictures, so after being in there for a few min, I use my app to take a couple and uploaded them, not realizing that they had a no photo policy. The staff person was extremely rude about it and saying that it was a copyright issue. um... wouldn't you be more concerned about the recipe than the way you decorate your pastries? And don't you want people to buy your product because it looks good? I called later to speak to the owner but the manager said he was out of town, but would return my call when he got back. nothing as of yet and it's been over a week. I can't even tell you what their food tastes like because the service and attitude was so poor. Not going back. read more

It's a small local bakery without too many selections. While we were there, my sister and I bought a Tollhouse cookie, a German chocolate cake, a cream horn, an apple turnover, and a curry puff. The cake and turnover were okay, but I've definitely had better. The only thing that had a real wow-factor was the cream horn. The pastry was flaky, and the cream was delicious! I usually don't like cream, but this was an exception. Everything else though, including service, was just okay. read more

I loved going to this bakery for a couple of years because my daughter enjoyed the gingerbread cookies. I thought the cakes were just okay while the danish rings were good. Nevertheless, what soured my viewed of the sweets was a negative experience I had with an older lady who worked there. I had ordered a pie, and was to pick it up by the end of the day. As my family only had one vehicle, I had to wait for my husband to come home from work so that I could drive to the bakery. He doesn't have set work hours, and, unfortunately, this was a day his boss gave him an extra job to do. I was stressed all day and reminded him several times to try and come home on time --10 times to be exact (poor guy, lol). As soon as he pulled in to the garage I got in the vehicle and drove with him to the bakery. We had planned for him to wait at home whilei picked up the pie, but I really wanted to get to the bakery before they closed. Unfortunately, they had locked their door 5 minutes prior to my arrival, but thankfully a nice young lady unlocked the door and let me in. I told her and the older lady Thank You So Much for letting me in, and I apologized for my lateness. However, the older lady stood with her arms crossed and grumpily replied, "It's already 5 minutes after we've locked the door. It's late! Some of us have to get to the bus on time!" I was shocked. She had always been quite nice before, and I knew I was late. I realize that everyone has their tough situations in life (she apparently had no personal vehicle to get home...I had no personal vehicle for daytime use) but her unkind and unprofessional remark was unecessary. She didn't know what my life situation was like or what my husband's work schedule was like for me to arrive 5 minutes late; she didn't realize that she is not the only one without a personal vehicle; and she didn't care to consider that I might already be quite embarrassed to have arrived late. I was so stressed all day about this pie (I really wanted to try their pies!), and she ignored the fact that I had thanked and apologized already. She straight-up verbally slammed me with an unkind grimace on her face; then, she walked away. Wow. Awkward--for both me and the young cashier. I did my best lady. A little graciousness and professionalism would have sufficed. Needless to say, I haven't returned. read more
