Your skin is your body's largest organ...why poison it with harsh chemicals when you can nurture it along with Mother Nature? I have been long interested in Aēsop's clean-smelling, natural botanical, laboratory-generated and tested ingredients skincare products. My interest has been growing since visiting their store at Waikīkī's International Market Place so this morning, while roaming about the Ala Moana Center, I went looking for Aēsop. Their new location is at the Diamond Head Wing in between Reyn Spooner and the Apple Store which opened June 2018. Our skin is affected by internal and external factors. Unfortunately, the internal (genetics and biological aging and hormones) factors cannot be changed so we can only address or control external factors. Living in Hawai'i where climate and temperature are big factors towards skin damage, I have found Aesop's natural botanical skincare products to beneficial in keeping my skin protected and less wrinkly. But, hey, who wants to look like a Shar-pei when you age? PRE-COVID: Walking into this apothecary-looking store, I was met by Grace. She is truly a pleasure to talk to and so knowledgeable about this Australian product lines. I told her that I was drawn in by their liquid hand soap that is featured in bills Hawai'i on Kalākaua Avenue and skin care line for my aging and sun damaged skin. After asking me several questions about my current skincare regimen and concerns, she recommended and showed me several products. In showing me some of the products, Grace led me to their wash basin and product trial bar. She showed and demonstrated the products that are formulated for my combination skin and especially beneficial in our humid Hawaiian weather. What I like about this shop is the personal attention to one's skin care needs. As Grace asked questions about my skin care concerns or issues she made notes to create a profile for me. She also wrote down a personalized skin care regimen for me to follow and generously gave me sample sachets of the products we had discussed. I purchased the body care duo and have been happily using the products. I signed up for their newsletters and I receive notifications of sales. I came here to buy a Christmas gift for some friends and had absolutely NO IDEA what I was looking at and didn't know where to begin. The person helping me, Brenda, was so kinda and practically explained everything to me. I told her what kind of gift I was looking for and the type of people they were, and she showed me a few products that matched my description. However, after seeing the price for the first option I sadly couldn't afford it, and she showed me another option that was in my budget that would still be great as a gift. Best experience I've had in a upscale store ! I tend to shy away from fancy stores as I don't feel comfortable as the workers can be aggressive and judgmental regarding your appearance . They tend to "profile" you as a customer, and I wouldn't go anywhere near that type of store. I wanted to buy everything I could because I felt so welcomed and appreciated as a customer ! Kahea was so kind and was very interested in what I was looking for and went the extra mile to help me find the best skincare for my personal needs. I hope and pray that management knows how valuable Kahea is to the company ! It is rare to find such a amazing salesperson! Kahea really is interested in how he can help you and not just " sell" you something you don't need ! I also was impressed that he can speak Japanese to the Japanese customers! Wow ! This store is super small, like the size of a huge walk in closet full of glass jars. It's in Ala Moana Center, right across of the Magnolia kiosk. They are an Australian company and specialize in hair, body and skincare. All of their products' packaging is designed very nicely and has a clean look, however all the bottles and jars look the same! Luckily there were a couple of really nice and informative salespeople who answered my questions and helped me learn more about their products, like why their store is called Aesop? Apparently the founder enjoyed Aesop's fables a lot...hence the name. I tried their lotions which didn't feel greasy and had a clean smell to it. They have post poo drops! They smell refreshing too, kind of citrusy. I ended up buying an aromatherapy roller that had ginger notes as the main scent for $30 to try out for stress relief. I knew their products would be on the pricier side since there were so price signage and they products didn't have a price label. There is a small price book and products book you can take which is what I did so I could read up and then go back and ask questions. You can make a free customer profile with them and they gave me some samples which they added to my profile. This way if I liked them, I could come back and purchase the a bad not need to remember what was that product I liked again? Definitely worth taking a stop to look at and smell, before or after getting that cupcake across at Magnolia! read more

This review is for aesop located at the Ala Moana Shopping Center. It is on the Diamond Head end, near the Apple Store. I am a procrastinator. No lie. I first walked into aesop when the opened in the Ewa Wing of Ala Moana. I got some samples, then proceeded to lose them. That was almost a year ago. Fast forward to last week, I found them! I finally got to try them, and I absolutely LOVE it! Let me give you some background. I am older and have normal skin. I am starting slight pigmentation from years of no sunscreen, some wrinkles (due to being a mom & teacher), and that one pimple every 6 months. I am all above prevention. The samples I was given was for the Parsley Seed Cleansing Oil, Sage & Zinc Facial Hydration Cream, and the B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel. After using the samples, I noticed an IMMEDIATE change in my skin. Some of the red spots were definitely more clam. The skin feel was smooth. My skin definitely loved it. I did my research and went onto their website to look around. I wanted to see what other products may work with what I wanted. I came with questions ready for my trip to the aesop store. When I got there, Iris was the consultant that helped me. She listened to my concerns, made her recommendations. She tried products out on my hand. (They have a sink and product samples to readily use.) I felt that she knew her information based on her answers to my questions and was comfortable talking about the product. She appreciated how I did my research before coming! I purchased the cleansing oil, balancing gel, a chamomile mask. The Sage & Zinc Cream was no longer available for purchase. Iris was unsure why, which was a bummer. Skin care is a very personal and individual thing. I am not telling you in this review that aesop will do for you what it is doing for me. If you are intrigued by the brand, you can go to their website and see what products you'd like and what they have to offer. If you still think this may be for you to use, go down and speak to the consultants. They happily offer samples for you to try. Take those samples and see how they work for you. read more

A week ago I had to pass some time at the mall before I could pick up my precious cat from the vet to bring him home to be euthanized. I was absolutely beside myself. I have been wanting a certain product from the store for a while so I thought I would treat myself to it, given how horrible of a day it was.. something to smell beautiful seemed like a small joy and comfort. I walked in sharing that I only had a few minutes before I had to leave and just wanted to pick it up, and both of the women behind the counter could sense that I was distraught. I shared about what has been happening with my animal, and they were both so incredibly kind. Lani asked if I would like a hand wash and I agreed it would be nice. I sat over the sink with her while she very generously washed my hands and gave me a beautiful lotion and hand massage afterward. I had tears literally streaming down my face the entire time. I felt like her energy was so comforting and healing, and her willingness to hold space for someone in such a state of acute grief was like a little sweet blessing on such a very sad day. They were both very knowledgeable about products, they were both so incredibly warm, they even sent me away with some really nice samples. It may have seemed like such a small thing, but on an absolutely heartbreaking day, it was a true gift. read more

Wow. The most amazing service by a lovely girl called Karina at the International Market Place Honolulu. As soon as my friend and I walked in she greeted us with the warmest smile and let us browse around at our leisure. She then took us through step by step the body scrub and moisturising lotions, followed up with the latest fragrances on offer. Not only was she fantastic at explaining the products, she offered her own opinions and knew what worked with what. We are visiting, so she also gave us some local tips and tricks on what to do around the Island! Although we never purchased anything (Aesop is cheaper for us to buy at home, which was understandable), the experience at Aesop with Karina was undoubtably a highlight of our trip! read more

Went to Australia earlier this year and fell in love with a few things: licorice, meat pies, Bundaberg ginger beer, and Aesop. While taking in views of the Blue Mountains, you could smell and literally see the essence of the eucalyptus in the valley below. The eucalyptus there smells sweeter than I'm used to, and it really grew on me. With this new respect of the eucalyptus in Australia, we found the Aesop store in The Rocks (the 1788 Australian equivalent of Ellis Island). Their products have a natural scent with products that are clean and reminiscent of sweet eucalyptus. When we got back to the island, we were excited to find an Aesop store in the new wing! The salespeople are very informative and friendly. Alissa was very helpful and patient with showing us the differences in the variety of products. Definitely addicting, but them being a supporter of art & design and a cruelty-free company makes their products an un-guilty pleasure! read more

In my opinion, some of the best hair, skin, and body care products in the world. It's only fitting that we finally have our own in Ala Moana Shopping Center. Although this particular store is small in comparison, I think it is the perfect size and doesn't waste any space. All of their products are displayed along adjacent two walls, with a sink in the middle of the space, typical Aesop design. Also, like typical Aesop design, both products and space are simple, clean, functional, and high quality. All of this translates to your senses, an ambiance and feeling of relaxation when you are in their stores. The downside? Their products aren't cheap. I'm fortunate to be able to shop here now, but I understand that not everyone can or should shop here. However, if you can or really care about your skin or hair and want the some of the best products for it, I highly recommend you at least stop by. read more
