They are a fun crew, very open and welcoming. I got my brakes, rotors and brakes flushed within the hour. I usually take it to Nissan dealership but they were going to charge me $450 before taxes to do my front brakes (brakes and rotors). I got charged $300 from Poway Muffler and brake auto shop. They were efficient, quick and communicated with me of what was recommended and showed me what was wrong with my parts. Steve worked on my car. He took care of me and my car, made sure the parts were installed correctly. The shop has a waiting area and gender neutral bathroom for use. They have water dispenser as well. Jack is a honest manager. You can get quotes anywhere and he will give you a quote from his shop, his shop will most likely be cheaper than other shops around. There are tons of auto shops around here to choose from but this place fits my budget and they don't fool around with your time, money or safety. They do much more than just brakes. Now, this is an automotive service office, so I wasn't expecting to be able to eat off of the floor, but this place was filthy. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. My cars are all short term leases now, so I never need service, but I had to chance to reconnect when a friend and employee needed service. Fast forward two owners to the current manager: Mark. Same amazing service, and great work. This is the place that instead of recommending you spend more money to do this or that, when you pick up your car they say "we noticed your xxx needed replacement and did it on the house". I called three brake shops in this area and out of the three only this one actually cared to ask me questions to make sure my car actually needed brakes, whereas the other two shops were quick to give me a quote and have me come in to get the job done. Scott here spent time driving my car around to determine which brakes it might be and checked the rotors and brake pads too. The reviews are true! I've been to Scot 3 times and it just keeps getting better. I had just picked up this Titan from Brawley and it was in rough shape. There was an exhaust leak I'd identified, but the bolt snapped when I tried to tighten it. So, I took it to Scot. I was expecting to get reamed, but he found an effective solution that was different than what I had asked for. It was a better solution that kept the flange...and it was cheaper. I then took a set of pipes for my Victory Kingpin in. New flanges didn't align with the bolts on the bike, so he took the old ones off the old pipes and put them on the new pipes...without destroying anything! Amazing work, really. You can't tell the pipes were cut at all. Next, I took the Titan back in to finish the work I had planned. I had already done both wheel bearings, full front brakes and the passenger right brake line. I still needed to do the rear brakes, upper and lower control arms and tie rod with tie rod ends. Scot gave me a quote that I couldn't refuse and my truck was done 24 hours later. This is the first time in my life that I've walked into a shop, asked for a quote and paid that exact amount each and every time. They don't keep you waiting forever for your vehicle. They don't up-charge or swindle. They're straight shooters and if they can't, or don't want, to do something they'll recommend someone else you can trust. You have absolutely nothing to lose going here. As long as they are open, this is where I'll go. read more

After paying over a hundred dollars at another place just to get a diagnostic on my Cadillac ATS, they ended up quoting me a crazy amount and told me that I needed to get my exhaust system replaced. I later googled other places and was very blessed to have found this place. I called to ask for a quote and Scott told me he would look at it at no charge and would see me right away. Once he looked at it, he told me it could be repaired by welding it. I was so thankful for his honesty. He did explain that in the future it may need to get replaced but he would try to find me a used exhaust system at reasonable price. It is so hard to find honest mechanics and I am so thankful for his honesty. The welding cost was nothing compared to having to pay for a brand new exhaust system. As a woman it is so important to find an honest mechanic. Once you do, you stay with them and that's exactly what I've done. I went in thinking I needed new shocks for my car because that's what the tire place I went to said. I will definitely use this business if I ever need to! I had a long conversation with Scott after being told (by Midas) that my high mileage Honda Accord needed a new catalytic converter. My 2010 was involved in a Honda recall for "leaky piston rings" but did not pass Honda's "oil consumption test" (the way they sneakily get out of repairing their problem but that's another story). Scott advised me regarding replacement of the CC, that there are 2 on this model Honda and that they are very expensive and that if there is an oil leak anywhere it would ruin the new CC. So i said I'd bring in the truck. What happened next was this guy took the time to figure out which one it was (i thought it was the other one) and fix the problem for the price he said on the phone, that is what impressed me the most no upsell. Customer needs to be on their toes! Needed front brakes - and roter turned, I knew that. So I called and made an appointment. When I got there it was like I had just walked in off the street. They didn't know I was coming, told me it will take some extra time to get the pads delivered - this should have been my first clue. I left the car there. Later in the day they called said it's done. I asked what the rear breaks looked like, per the work order, and they said they would have to check. Called back late in the day and said I really needed rear breaks. But I didn't have time to leave the car overnight. Took the car on a trip. came home and decided to check the rear breaks. They were fine! AND I DISCOVERED THEY HAD ONLY HAND TIGHTENED THE FRONT RIGHT LUG NUTS!!!! One lug nut was about 10 turns from falling off!!! If that wheel had fallen off on the trip that could have killed someone - like my family and me! Never again! read more

My brakes are lasting much longer than repairs make at the dealer for my Honda car and Ford truck. I will continue to use them. I met Scott and he was everything the review said...honest! Scott told me that if I didn't plan to keep my Camry longer than a year, I did not need to get those things done. With Scott's help to maintain my car, I was able to keep it three years after that. Since then I have referred friends and families to Scott and they all were happy with the result. I have to share one story which is unheard of with a mechanic: My sister's car kept dying. She didn't know what the problem was. She changed her battery and still continued to die here and there. She ended up carrying a portable battery charger with her. I ask her to go see Scott. She left her car with Scott for a day. I recently Picked up my Ford Expedition from ROBBIE'S AUTOMOTIVE after it needed some repairs. I also had an exhaust pipe issue with another vehicle and just so happened to have the exhaust pipe with me. The pipe needed to be cut and potentially have some repairs done to it. Billy, the manager at POWAY MUFFLER & BRAKE( which shares the same lot where my car was repaired), went beyond what I expected when he cut the pipe with great precision and then found an extension that would make the exhaust pipe as good as new. Here is the COOL PART, he did not charge me a thing. I mean I fully expected to pay, but in his words, "it was a simple thing". Really it was a simple thing however all to often people are out to make a buck and take every advantage they can. I was very happily surprised to meet someone who still sees the value in doing a simple thing for someone and not charging them. I assure you the goodwill he generated with me will go much farther than any dollar amount I could have given him.
