Horrible quality!! No attention to detail , they cut my fingers and they're so overpriced

Staff: staff was nice the lady that greeted me was working with another person so she was very brief with me. Her station was right by the door so probably best if they had a greeter there to answer questions instead of her. Quality: nail quality was decent. It lasted me about a week. However, when we were finished I told her one of my finger looked clumpy and she just added more nail polish. That doesn't fix the clump. Service: service was also decent. They asked me if the water was too hot. The same lady that greeted me told me how to work the massage chair. (I assume she was the owner). But they used a curing lamp to hold my hand up when she was painting it. But she didn't use it to dry. I sat on the chair for a good 30 minutes or so cramping because she told me to wait. She had another customer. If she would have put the heat lamp on, she could have tended to the other customer and got me out of there sooner. Not a way to handle business. read more

I've been coming here for years, but I'm disappointed in the customer service and will not be returning. I got there 5 minutes before they opened on a Saturday (with one woman ahead of me). Naturally, they took her first. Two women came in after me (10 minutes apart) and they were taken back. I'm not sure if they shoved me to the side because I'm younger but either way it's poor service. I have three kids and my time is just as valuable as the women who walked in after me. Time to find another salon now. read more

This is almost 3 weeks old and is still going strong. The white nail polish chipped a little bit more and was applied in 2 coats instead of 3 like the grey/blue thermo nail polish I brought. The grey nail polish I brought hasn't chipped or cracked once so I'm thinking it's the polish and the extra coat that may have made the difference. This definitely lasted longer than the last nail salon I went to using only their polish. I also really enjoyed the massage on my arms and hands! read more

Every time i come here i'm never ever disappointed., 38$ for this set which is cheap and sooo worth it. Tammy is the main tech at the salon and i'm pretty sure she runs it. she makes my nails so close to my cuticle, they're thin, not bulky, and they always last so long. This place deserves the 5 stars. I haven't tried any other nail techs but tammy is great to talk to and takes her time on my nails. so again 10/10 would recommend! i went back yet again to try out one of the girls other than tammy. Her name was Cami, or something close to. she took her absolute time and was so sweet. she thoroughly checked the length and how close it was to the cuticle. near perfect 10/10 read more

After seeing all the 5 star reviews we decided to try this salon. It was HORRIBLE. Watching my mom get her nails done (by a brand new tech) was painful to watch. It was clear that she had never painted nails, trimmed nails, given a massage, or buffed callus ever before. Scalding hot water first. To remove callus she dabbed her heal with a pumice. Set a 5 min timer for a massage. She sat for 2 minutes staring at the cart then proceeded to do a 3 minute "massage". The whole process from start to finish was painful to watch. The polish was applied lumpy, uneven, and all over nail and skin. I've seen 10 year olds paint nails with more skill. Overall if you want an experience with a SKILLED nail tech do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. I now will go home and give myself a pedicure because I can't stand looking at what work was done on both of us. Complete waste of money and time. read more

I had a lovely experience here on a late Wednesday afternoon at 6pm. I had walked in with the vision of getting French pressed(?) nails and a light lavender color for my pedicure and also manicure and pedicure for Mr. W who surprisingly came along. We were walk ins, greeted and asked what we liked, and then guided to the comfortable vibrating chairs. I had the full process of two people helping me with my nails - as I was getting the French style on my manicure. I liked the lavender that came out as a result which I hope will match with the purple dress I am wearing a wedding this weekend (5/6/17). I got my French style on square which came out pretty nice and shiny. Since that day, my hands feel like they're glimmering (Haha, since it was two days ago). My cuticles also got cleaned but now that I look at them, it seems like it did get slightly excessively clean as I have the occasional cuticle pop up here and there. Amy helped me with them, and I did really enjoy the experience of sticking my hand into the drying device countless times. Now my manicure is definitely hard but smooth. My pedicure is amazing by default. Nothing dotted anywhere. I got it done as gel so it would last longer. Upon paying, they also let me know of the warranty, which I took a picture of. If I remember correctly, it was 2 weeks for gel manicures if you were to accidentally scrap it or such. The whole process took about a hour. We went a tad over the time they closed but they were very accommodating in making sure I liked the way my nails were done. While Mr. W on my side enjoyed the massaging techniques of the chair, had his nails cleaned, and enjoying the apple cider which was offered. read more

So I was blessed to have found this hidden gem last Saturday. I was originally going to go somewhere else with a friend but she had to cancel plans last minute. I had two recommendations to this place so I decided to go... and I will always come back now (even though I live in Clairemont/Bayho area). I'll just have to go after work or take the 20 min drive up there. I'm so happy I got Tammy because before I walked in I read the yelp reviews and everybody was raving about her, and for good reason! Tammy paid so much attention to my nails the entire time! It was beautiful to feel cared for! I got the acrylic coffin nails and I am in love with them! My friends from my church gave me compliments hehe. The place is small and packed with technicians and clients. I noticed everyone likes to get their toe and fingernails done there. I saw women of all ages enjoying the services. The bathroom was super clean and it smelled really good in there. It's literally right next to Vons so there's tons of parking. I came here for the first time. Wanted to try something new because my regular nail lady is no longer working due to health issues :( I'm on the hunt to find a new salon. The lady that did my pedicure was Amy. She did as I asked. Nothing less nothing more. Polish application was smooth. No bumps/lumps and she cleaned up the edges with acetone. The reason for the 3 stars is that I was breathing in another customers callous shavings. Let me explain. This place uses an automatic callous filing device and it disperses the callous shavings in the air. I was sitting beside a customer getting this treatment. At first I thought it was steam and when I asked the lady said "it's callous" OMG I don't want to breathing in that !!! I was literally blowing the callous shavings away. God! I know some salons have a machine where it sucks in the callous shavings or they use the regular callous boards... I think the other nail tech was lazy and opted for the machine. For my health I won't be returning even though Amy was sweet and did her job. If you like breathing in other folks callous come here! Lol. read more

I had a good experience here so I'll probably be back. I made a appointment for my friend and I on Yelp. They got back to me quickly. We were both having a manicure and pedicure. When we got to the salon, they actually seated us in our chairs right away and started working on both of our pedicures. That's where other salons fail. Even if you have a appointment, you may still be waiting in the chair for someone to actually start working on you. Shortly after my lady started my pedicure, another lady started my manicure. Everything went smoothly. My friend did have to wait until she was done with her pedicure to have her manicure started. But overall, we were out of there in a little over an hour. Calm music that goes hand and hand with the pedicure, I got the number 1, which goes for $45.00, plus I tipped 20 dollars to support local business and service was excellent. The massage was nice and relaxing not too aggressive and not too hard, if I wasn't on two shots of espresso I would've definitely fall asleep. They have this new tool to get the callus on your foot, imagine like a wax tool, it felt great didn't make me laugh. The lady with the glasses fixed my ingrown nail I tried to do it myself and bled, but you gotta leave it to the professional, didn't even feel any pain when they chipped it away. Overall place is a 10/10 would definitely come back, I came in talking English and I'm a Vietnamese person who is fluent in the language. It is totally safe they do not talk bad about you I did some stuff that would be annoying for any business owner but they didn't say anything. This is place where you can definitely come to and not feel judged. Walk-ins are welcome they took me in right away. It was a 45-55 min service for the number 1. read more

What a great salon! I was able to message them on yelp for a price quote and for an appointment. The staff immediately answered and got me in the Next day. The salon itself is clean and quaint. All the technicians are friendly and do an amazing job. I got gel mani pedi for $43.00 with a chair, leg and arm massage. The only suggestion I have for this Salon is to maybe play some music? I've been trying to find a place in San Diego for my go-to nail salon and have been mostly disappointed so far. I'll go to salons with raving reviews and leave feeling rushed, unwelcome and with lumpy nails. But Poway Nails is different! Even though I had to wait a little bit, they were very apologetic and the woman who did my nails was VERY detail oriented. It was close to closing time but that didn't stop her from fixing the small details and double and triple checking nail edges, bumps in the polish, etc. She fixed a broken nail of mine in seconds. My nails look BEAUTIFUL, she did an amazing job. They're so smooth and shiny and shaped just the way I wanted! The last place that did my nails cut them into blunt squares without asking and I hated them. I will definitely be back again! Such a disappointing experience today. I came back to this place because I really liked them and their service but all services should be great not just on the weekdays when they are slower but also on weekends when they are busier. Called for an appointment for 4o'clock. Got there at 4:02 guaranteed that was my fault to be 2 minutes late since there was a lot of traffic around their business I should've called and give them a heads up. I said hi to the first person I saw and let them know that I had an appointment at 4 and that I was a couple of minutes late. Lady just looked up at me and all she said was "you're late" and I apologized but she didn't say anything else. So I sat down and waited but 30 minutes had gone by and still nobody said anything to me. As a paying customer this was very much not appreciated. Need a bit more organization with walk in and scheduled customers as well as customer service. One simple smile can go a long way!!! read more
