This morning I had decided to get a Pedicure for an uocoming trip. My regular salon is Colors, but I thought I would opt for something a little closer to home. Looking through the offerings and ratings of other places, I thought what was I thinking? I already know the best place in town. The vibe at colors is very positive and their salon is recently redone and gorgeous. Ruby usually does my nails and is an amazing artist if you want them decorated. Eileen can make a masterpiece of your hair no matter what puzzle you present to her. Sarah does an incredible leg and foot massage with pedicure that will put you to sleep. I just had my first service at Colours and unfortunately it will be my last...I'm fairly new to Ramona and have decided to start to get my nails done regularly again after having my first child. I was really looking forward to relaxing and having a good experience. I found this salon on a Facebook Ramona page where many members shared great things about the salon and Ruby's work. I made my appointment right when they opened and specifically requested Ruby who answered the phone. I wanted a pedicure and nails with art (nothing crazy just a few simple flowers). When I arrived for my appointment at 12 I wasn't seen until about 12:20 for the pedicure. After the pedicure, they sat me down at a gentleman's table to do my nails. This was already disappointing, considering the fact that Ruby said she would do my nails as I requested. The gentleman was very sweet and nice, but unfortunately, he didn't catch my color correctly. The first time I mentioned it to Ruby once she sat in the table to do my design and she immediately gave me a snarky remark and was quite rude. I asked her "is it difficult to remove the color on two fingers?" She made it seem like they would have to start from the beginning. She ended up filing them down and changing the color which only took her about an extra five minutes. The response and the attitude that I received for just a simple fix to make a customer happy was unbelievable. In addition to that remark, she made another snarky remark when I corrected her and told her that I wanted the flowers on opposite sides for my left hand. As a new customer who was ready to become a regular, to receive this type of service was shocking to me. It's especially disappointing because I actually do like my nails. I believe she did a great job, but I'm not going to commit to spending $120+ a month to somebody who can't provide even decent customer etiquette. read more

I had been going to Colours for a few months, and thought I tipped well for services. But the last time everything changed. I had an appointment for nails and a pedicure. When I arrived all pedicure stations were taken and I waited for 30 minutes (with an appointment) for the pedicure. While I was having my nails done, my manicurist was on the phone most of the time. And, before finishing handed me off to my future pedicurist to finish my nails, so that he could take another customer. They do good work here, but you don't matter, you are just another number. I decided that I like good customer service, that's important to me. I'm not going back! read more

The lady that did my nails was nice and the salon was pretty clean. Now to everything else.. I didn't get what I asked for. Probably the first time I cut my set off after getting home. I have bigger hands and I like to have a thinner nail to enolate them. The nails were fat. I don't know how else to put it. I received a new set and the extension that was put on my nail was cheap and so curved they looked awful on my hand. I thought I was going to get used to it, but I couldn't handle it for more than an hour.$80 down the drain. Oh, and I also had a comment from my boyfriend telling me I have pterodactyl hands so that's probably gonna be my new nickname for the next week. read more

Yesterday (Friday) I dropped by Colours around 1pm, in need of a pedi, but mostly wanting to check it out after reading the story in the Ramona Sentinel awhile back and seeing good reviews on Ramona Reviews (Facebook). So, immediately after walking in I got a wonderful welcome from owner Richie and big smiles from a couple customers sitting in their spa chairs. I was happy to find out I could get in right away. Richie's adorable wife, Trish, offered me the nail "menu" and I opted for the silver package, which included hot stone massage treatment and paraffin wax. I was very pleased with the price - $30. Zero pressure to add other services. Trish did a really meticulous job trimming my nails and cuticles, and doing the polish, as well. I received a really nice long massage, and the extra goodies I got with the silver package were a wonderful addition. Trish was very warm, charming, and friendly, but didn't push talking during those times I wanted to close my eyes, yet she was fun to visit to when I chose to talk.
